Hi Everyone. Well, after 15 years the RV-Dreams Community Forum is coming to an end. Since it began in August 2005, we've had 58 Million page views, 124,000 posts, and we've spent about $15,000 to keep this valuable resource for RVers free and open. But since we are now off the road and have settled down for the next chapter of our lives, we are taking the Forum down effective June 30, 2021. It has been a tough decision, but it is now time.

We want to thank all of our members for their participation and input over the years, and we want to especially thank those that have acted as Moderators for us during our amazing journey living and traveling in our RV and growing the RV-Dreams Family. We will be forever proud to have been founders of this Forum and to have been supported by such a wonderful community. Thank you all!!

Slideouts moving

We just purchased a 2008 three slide Mobile Suites. Went to pick it up and all slides were in flush. After bringing it home (100 miles), we noticed all of the slides had come out at the bottom a couple of inches. I retracted them and they snugged in as adv ertised. What would have caused this? Where should I look for problem?

Thanks,
Dave

Don't have slides on the TT but my 2002 Pace Arrow did and we used slide locks.

Dave,

Welcome to the forums.  I have a little information that I can provide now (I'm at work right now), and I will get you more information later, after I have time to find the forum thread in particular.

First, I would have your dealer check out the operations.  Also, in other forums somewhere, there is a thread discussing the proper sequence of the operation of one's slides when they are hydraulic.  (Improper operation can lead to air in the lines.)

I have two other forum sites for you, both of which are pretty much related only to the DRV products.  The first is the Suites Owners International Travel Club and their website is:

http://www.suitesowners.com/

The second one is called Fifth Wheel Forums and while it has categories for other brands, the most active category on it is the one for DRV owners.  I'll give you the link directly to the page where the DRV product threads are and the second will be the "Home" page for Fifth Wheel Forums.  Should you decide to register to use the forum, that is the place to start.

First the direct link to the DRV threads:

http://www.5thwheelforums.com/forums/viewforum.php?f=54&sid=8f04c2401b65d5c61a0793c9367d4ce0

Second, the link to the Fifth Wheel Forum "Home" page:

http://www.5thwheelforums.com/

Later, when I have an opportunity to search at home, I'll post a link to the thread I spoke of earlier.  Also, you didn't specify which Mobile Suites you have, but if you have a side bathroom model, when operating the bedroom slide, do not stop its operation part way in or part way out.  Due to a "diverter" in the bedroom slide system, it needs to go all the way in or out before stopping.

Don't know what type of slide you have, but our slide is electric and we had the exact same problem.

The cause was defective "lock" in the motor.

Keystone replaced the motor under warranty and we have not had the problem since.

On my 07 Elite Suite, I have had no end of slide problems. Currently the door slide moves out occasionally while driving. You can get slide locks for this problem, but a 2 X 4 wedged between the wall and slide lip when the slide is closed works for me. Going back to the factory for a better fix (hopefully) next winter. It seems that they constantly get out of shape for some reason.
Not sure if the suite slides are more complicated than others but I've spent a fortune on service calls to mobile rv repair places who can't seem to handle slide adjustments on these things. .

Dave,

OK.  While I was on break, I found the thread that brought up the topic of the sequence of operation for the slides.  Plus, I don't know if it is in this thread or not, but there was one mention of someone that had the bottoms coming out and after watching his slide sequence, he has not had any more problems.  Now, I can't say specifically that his problem is fixed, but if you look around on the SOITC (Suites Owners International Travel Club) website, you may find it.

Anyway, the link is here:

Should it mean anything to you, on SOITC our username is millerjnt.  On all others it is Terry and Jo.
