Hi Everyone. Well, after 15 years the RV-Dreams Community Forum is coming to an end. Since it began in August 2005, we've had 58 Million page views, 124,000 posts, and we've spent about $15,000 to keep this valuable resource for RVers free and open. But since we are now off the road and have settled down for the next chapter of our lives, we are taking the Forum down effective June 30, 2021. It has been a tough decision, but it is now time.
We want to thank all of our members for their participation and input over the years, and we want to especially thank those that have acted as Moderators for us during our amazing journey living and traveling in our RV and growing the RV-Dreams Family. We will be forever proud to have been founders of this Forum and to have been supported by such a wonderful community. Thank you all!!
Howard, We are heading to the Bradenton area tomorrow for 2 weeks. I remember you mentioned a great place to eat. Any info you can give for eating or sight seeing would be appreciated. Isn't this Florida weather great?
I'm not sure about a "great" place to eat, but the Star Fish Company in Cortez has lots of local flavor and fresh seafood. You order from a little window and eat at picnic tables on a porch at a small marina where lots of birds gather for handouts. Reasonable and fresh and a cool place to eat most tourists won't find.
As for other sightseeing, we didn't do a whole lot while in Bradenton. But we did go to Robinson Preserve which is a great place for birdwatching, biking, kayaking, or just walking. Anna Maria Island has a nice public beach and several restaurant options.
Wish I could tell you more, but we pretty much just hung out with our friends while there.
Howard--just wanted to tell you on Wednesday we picked up my sister-in-law and husband at the airport, and had lunch at the Star Fish Company in Cortez--just what we were looking for. Local flavor, working fishing docks, fish market-had a great grouper sandwich. They told me between the fish market and restrauant they sell about 4,000. of grouper a week--Thanks for info.--Yesterday we went to DeSoto County Park and had a great time-
