Hi Everyone. Well, after 15 years the RV-Dreams Community Forum is coming to an end. Since it began in August 2005, we've had 58 Million page views, 124,000 posts, and we've spent about $15,000 to keep this valuable resource for RVers free and open. But since we are now off the road and have settled down for the next chapter of our lives, we are taking the Forum down effective June 30, 2021. It has been a tough decision, but it is now time.
We want to thank all of our members for their participation and input over the years, and we want to especially thank those that have acted as Moderators for us during our amazing journey living and traveling in our RV and growing the RV-Dreams Family. We will be forever proud to have been founders of this Forum and to have been supported by such a wonderful community. Thank you all!!
There is an adequate market out there now, and I would not expect much of a change. Mostly, people tend to get rid of toys they do not need, a pickup is kinda required to move a 5er or TT.
Pickups are also used by many folks as their everyday vehicle. The mileage difference between a P/U and a standard sized car is negligible so I would not expect there to be any changes in the P/U market due to the price of fuel. Now, if you want to talk MDT that could be different.
Here in Southern California, the rise in fuel prices over the past 4 or 5 years have taken toll on larger pickups. You used to see a lot of 250/2500 and quite a few 350/3500 with quite a few Navigators and Suburbans running around. Now it's SUVs, Crossovers and 150/1500 Pickups.
Not one dealer in our town has an F350 or 3500 (Dodge or GM) new for sale. Not even the work truck type.
I haven't seen a used 350/3500 on any lot or in the newspaper/online in the area for at least 3 years.
I do see a lot of 250/2500 and large numbers of 150/1500 pickups on lots and online ads.
