Hi Everyone. Well, after 15 years the RV-Dreams Community Forum is coming to an end. Since it began in August 2005, we've had 58 Million page views, 124,000 posts, and we've spent about $15,000 to keep this valuable resource for RVers free and open. But since we are now off the road and have settled down for the next chapter of our lives, we are taking the Forum down effective June 30, 2021. It has been a tough decision, but it is now time.
We want to thank all of our members for their participation and input over the years, and we want to especially thank those that have acted as Moderators for us during our amazing journey living and traveling in our RV and growing the RV-Dreams Family. We will be forever proud to have been founders of this Forum and to have been supported by such a wonderful community. Thank you all!!
Here's a question for everyone that has turned 65 and is on Medicare for their medical insurance. Which supplemental plan or plans are you using that allow you to be mobile and travel? I turned 65 a year ago and our financial advisor set me up with a Plan F because of our foreign travels. My wife will t...
I am getting so fed up with the RV dealers in my area who are charging $120/hr and "List +" pricing for parts, that I'm wondering if finding a good mobile RV tech would be a better way to go. Is anyone else doing that regularly? I've tried getting service from a small local Winnebago dealer and...
I saw some older posts on the subject, thought I would start a new thread. Is anyone using this system and would you recommend it? Do you think it is necessary and is this the best option for the money? If not, what is everyone doing to boost cell reception in your RV and tow vehicle? How about the WeBoost sy...
Greetings everyone from Patrick & Donna! We have come to that 'familiar place' many of you arrived at years ago--in that the traditional "stuff" centered worldview has lost its charm. Our circumstance may begin a bit differently (or not) as 5th wheeling is being seen as a housing solution for wh...

Don't know if anyone else has seen this article, but even though the article in its entirety was not shown online, the portion that was seemed to not take into consideration that some individuals want to live this way. I am not comparing this to fulltiming because to me fulltiming is a choice made to liv...
Hello fellow RV-dreamers, We are Peter and Therese and are going to be gonnabies again in 12-18 months. We full timed for about a year in our travel trailer 11 years ago when we moved south and never lost that "life is so simple in an RV" feeling. We have begun our search for a 5th wheel and then our truck...
I have a question. I have a 1998 Fleetwood Bounder with a Suburban furnace SF model. I have fixed the grounding block, taped up the spark unit that's on the circuit board, and cleaned up all of the connections. The thing works great during the day, unless it's cold out, and then I have the same problem, bu...

Hello All, First of all thanks for reading this. My purpose for this post is to ask the community who have or used generators in their RVs in hopes I can narrow down and identify the issue I am having with mine system. The Problem: I have a brand new Onan 5500 Genset and 50 Amp Mobile Suites 36rrsb3. When I fi...

As we celebrate our first month of full timing : ) We're making plans for our next few stops. Right now we prefer the interstates, and campgrounds relatively close to them. I'm feeling more comfortable each time I drive our 39ft. MH, with car on tow dolly. We like the recommendation of a 200 mile travel d...
My husband for 36 years and best (worst-sometimes) friend for 39 years passed away while traveling in our RV earlier this month. We have been FTing after my retirement in May 2015 and PT after 2012. As he had suffered 3 strokes since 1991 and was physically disabled, I am physically able to handle our...
Hi, We'd like to stay on the gulf coast. A monthly stay seems to be the best deal. Since this will be our first time in the area Looking for suggestions, we got a good one for December Thanks Bill and Laurie

Just about everyone recommends Pasport America and I'm just starting to travel a lot. My question is if I sign up on line will they send me an e-mail with a membership number so it can be used immediately or do I have to wait until I get a membership card forwarded from may mail service?
I'm Elsi, and I'm talking the hubby into investing in a travel trailer and decent tow vehicle so we can go on extended trips to get to know more about the USA. We're veteran road-trippers in the car and staying in hotels, but I want the option of carrying my "home" with me and cooking in instead of always s...
I have a 2014 Leisure Unity and the exterior lock failed recently? It is the regular latch not the deadbolt which doesn't fully retract and keeps the door from opening. It has a Trimark #060-1650 lock on it which is available at Camping World for about a hundred bucks. A little Internet searching revea...
I have a 91' American Eagle with an Onan 8KW Generator in a front slide out compartment. The Generator is an older open faced type and seen its better days. I had it checked out and my best bet was for a complete replacement. In order to get a step up on the labor costs for a new install I decided to remove t...
Well, we finally did it. We are Fulltime. Woohoo... Have to finish working until February next year. Then who cares where we go. So glad we did this. Everything fell into place. The house finally sold and off we went. The first couple of nights the Fifth Wheel lost power. turned out to be a transfer switc...
I wear tactical gloves during set-up for a variety of reasons. Today, I forgot and of course I opened the power pedestal and wasps descended on my hand and stung me. One of many reasons to wear gloves. I also keep a can of wasp spray in the power cord compartment which I quickly used to dispatch the swarm. ...
We are going full time in April of 2018. We live in Florida and want to continue as our state. We own 5 rental properties there and have lived in Florida for 36 years. When it comes to renewing drivers license and voter ID's how do we go about it?
Hello Everyone— I'm not new to RVing but I am new to towing a trailer. My new "Canned Ham" 10.5 feet long pulls nicelyby my GMC Sonoma—but here is the question: The trailer rides too low in front and the truck too low in back. Weight equalizer trunnion bars come in many many sizes. Should I buy a...
I was trying to flush black tank after trip and after draining the black tank i tied onto flush to make sure it was clean and would only pressure up on me, nothing going into black tank, I pressured up on it and went in the trailer and opened the flush on the commode and had water coming out as if i was hooked up...
