Hi Everyone. Well, after 15 years the RV-Dreams Community Forum is coming to an end. Since it began in August 2005, we've had 58 Million page views, 124,000 posts, and we've spent about $15,000 to keep this valuable resource for RVers free and open. But since we are now off the road and have settled down for the next chapter of our lives, we are taking the Forum down effective June 30, 2021. It has been a tough decision, but it is now time.
We want to thank all of our members for their participation and input over the years, and we want to especially thank those that have acted as Moderators for us during our amazing journey living and traveling in our RV and growing the RV-Dreams Family. We will be forever proud to have been founders of this Forum and to have been supported by such a wonderful community. Thank you all!!
We are looking forward to our first RV-Dreams Rally this Spring. We have been reading Howard and Linda's website for 6 years now and haven't yet met them. We look forward to meeting many new friends this Spring. Terri and I and our wonderdog Eva will have an open-door policy at our RV, so plan to drop...
I am interested in keeping some sort of map/interactive travel log/journal. I was looking at Google (My Maps) and create my own as I go but wanted input from people who are already traveling. I like the map idea and the ability to add icons but wanted to see what everyone else used, thanks for any assista...
I am in the research phase of RV'ing and looking for some answers/help. I am almost 100% going with 3/4 or 1 ton truck and slide in camper. On October 31st We experienced a catastrophic failure of our Blue Ox tow bar. Resulting in our 1/2 ton Chevy truck breaking away from our motor home. The safety cables kept the truck more our less behind our RV. Bringing it all to a stop caused the truck to impact the back of our motor home. The damage to o...

I am doing research and looking into truck slide in campers. I have looked at video's about campers and the condensation problems. I was wondering about the aluminum slide-in's like Camplite. I like the idea of having nothing that can rot (no wood product or steel to rust), is this a good idea? Any thou...

We're about to buy our first motor home and I was wondering if there are any opinions between flat towing or puling a tow dolly. We have a Toyota Camry, front wheel drive, automatic and I don't believe that it's suitable for flat towing. Have any of you ever used a dolly? Pros and cons would be apprecia...
Hi All, I have a Pleasure Way Excel RD and will be installing solar soon. My question is once I have the system set up would it be very difficult to have the coach rewired so we could use any or some of the outlets as if we were on shore power? I understand that with the system we will get only certain things cou...

A recent update on going full-time... I've been downsizing possessions for a few weeks now. I'll still likely end up with twice as much as I really need; but everything will fit into my storage locker. Not having as much "stuff" feels strange at times; but also a bit freeing. My townhouse is under a sa...

Hubby and I have been full time for about a month now and use a mobile hotspot and phone hotspots for our Internet needs. I would like to have a small wireless printer for our occasional printing needs. Does anyone have a printer that they would recommend? Many thanks, Barb
Hi everyone! It's been a hectic, crazy, exciting, terrifying while since my last post, but with good reason: we've completely made the transition to full-time RVing, including spending the next 5 1/2 months in the States over the winter!!! What a journey, in every possible meaning of that phrase. W...
Had a little excitement during my work camping shift earlier this week. This is what happens when you forget to chock your wheels after leveling off and disconnecting you trailer. And really...I'd pick a different spot to walk. Luckily they only had slight damage to a stabilizer. -- Edited by diann...
Trying to figure out what the best state between FL, TX and SD for domicile. My wife and I will need health insurance since Medicare options will be several years out. SD appears a good option. Any previous experience positive or negative with either of these RV friendly states would be helpful. t...
Hello everyone. My wife and I just moved up from a 20 foot Rockwood Roo to our 2008 38 foot Mobile Suites Fifth wheel. We have taken several trips in it and love it but are still learning the ins and outs of this great unit. I pull it with a 2017 Ram 3500 dually and it does the job effortlessly. I hope to gain lot...
Hello all! I hope you will allow me a moment to brag a bit about having an article published in Workamper News! It’s about our traveling to, and workamping in Alaska. Since I realize not all of you have a subscription to the magazine, I will share a link to my blog post where I have the article in its entiret...

The Rangers are at the end of an era. We are moving from our gas powered motorhome to a diesel pusher. We have been perfectly happy with our Monaco LaPalma 34SBD but after owning it for six years it's time for a change. Yes, I got "RV envy" when my brother-in-law got a diesel pusher. I want to be clear th...
Are there any other Ham Radio Operators that frequent the Rv-dreams forum? Have been licensed for a long time but have been inactive. Getting set up to become more active in the near future. Any nets or check-in frequencies that maybe of interest to the traveling RV'er? thanks, 73's Jim KM5J
