Hi Everyone. Well, after 15 years the RV-Dreams Community Forum is coming to an end. Since it began in August 2005, we've had 58 Million page views, 124,000 posts, and we've spent about $15,000 to keep this valuable resource for RVers free and open. But since we are now off the road and have settled down for the next chapter of our lives, we are taking the Forum down effective June 30, 2021. It has been a tough decision, but it is now time.
We want to thank all of our members for their participation and input over the years, and we want to especially thank those that have acted as Moderators for us during our amazing journey living and traveling in our RV and growing the RV-Dreams Family. We will be forever proud to have been founders of this Forum and to have been supported by such a wonderful community. Thank you all!!
Hello Everyone, We are Bill and Sharon Whitehurst. We will be coming from Northwest Florida. We rented an RV to try it out and see how we feel. We are looking forward to all the seminars that are scheduled and we both are ready for the dream to begin. I retired about 18 months ago and Bill's departure da...
Our FP dishwasher leaks. Not bad, but some. It has a fat gasket (3/4 to an inch thick) around the top of the drawer. The gasket is attached with some kind of adhesive and the adhesive is dried and hard. Where the two ends of the gasket meet, the adhesive is particularly dry and cracked. I ordered a new gask...
Hello, My wife and I recently purchased a used fifth wheel. we need to replace the sub floor in two spots which will be no issue but we wanted to update the flooring inside. My concern is the thickness of the flooring that can be placed that will not interfere with the slide that the unit has. its a Fleetwoo...
TRUCK: 1997 F-250 Heavy Duty 7.3L Powerstroke 4x4. There seems to be lots of detailed information about weight (dry v. loaded, what the truck's rated at, etc). According to Ford, provided I'm reading the document right, the GCWR for a 1997 4x4 manual 7.3L F-250 is 20,000lbs & 14,000 trailer weig...
My name is Linda, and I am a single lady so I am really excited about attending the fall rally to meet with current RV'ers and want to be FT RV'ers. While I was still working I lived full time in a 40ft 5th wheel (Grand Teton), many years ago and loved it, but life changed paths for me so I had to put my dreams on...
Hello RV Dreams Community! We are John and Laura Zargo from Trussville, AL, and have been camping all of our adult lives. We started in a small pup tent that the two of us and our dog slept in, graduated to larger tents as we had our two kids and finally bought our first travel trailer in 2014. It was a 26'...
Ms. Irma gave me the "opportunity" to run my generator for an extended period of time. On my toyhauler (2016 Fuzion 416) I have 2 A/C units. One over the garage (rear) & one over the bedroom (front). When my "opportunity" came to be on generator, the rear A/C is the only one that worked. I know we c...
We are Gary and Pamela Augustine and we will be attending the Fall 2017 Rally. We have been planning to retire to full time RVing for the past four years, although we first talked about buying a fifth wheel in 1989. We are one year away from retirement! Everything is feeling more tangible and real as w...
Having been a member of this forum since I first started researching full-time RV living, back in June 2013, I always appreciated people who would do year end summary blog posts. It was just a great way to get a quick snapshot into their world, and I couldn't get enough of it. Bill, being a fact driven g...
I'm new to the RV world and have an eight month old rescue lab/husky mix that was abandoned as a tiny pup on a roadside. She sometimes has serious abandonment issues and has to be kept crated at home when we're away. I'm traveling solo with her most of the time and attempted to leave her uncrated for a sho...
Received my Senior Pass and have My State fishing License, my 4 person tent, canopy, and supplies! Yep, downsized from my Class C. Have a MB Diesel wagon, just in case of wet weather. Almost feeling like a teenage boonie camper again! Just need to find a willing female to share the tent with? Fat ch...
Let me apologize for the rant but I have to say the part I hate most about living on the road is getting decent dental care. Lee even says if we could figure out how we would swing by New Hampshire every year just for that but with our travel plans that's really not possible. The last time I talked about this...
Hi Everyone. We are Mike & Ann Lutz. We have been talking and planning our traveling lifestyle for a couple years. We have 4 grown children with 3 grandchildren. Though we love them dearly, we feel as though we need to get out there and explore before we become too old and tired to do so. We are no...
Hi Everyone, I don't know how to honk online but here goes. Our name is Walter & Dawn Bates, recently retired, together we raised two kiddos and are now empty nesters (except for Bella the Pom & Dolly the Standard Poodle). We love to travel, meet new people and visit new places. After months of r...
Hi I'm Kiersten. I'm an almost 7 year divorcee with four adult kids. I adopted a rescue puppy this year in March, turned 50 in June, took my youngest to college in August and bought a 24 foot Class C motor home the same week. I'm an accountant with an established virtual bookkeeping/Outsource Contro...
My wife and I purchased a used 2012 Open Range Light 5th wheel in January of this year and have been full-timing for three months. A little background-I am a travel nurse and it has been our dream to travel the country to see new places and meet new people, so we finally downsized and have taken to the open r...
Howard, I know Linda and you try to stay off of interstate highways and wondered what gps do you use to make sure your route has no low clearances and wide enough roads? Thanks in advance. Tom Toth
We're starting our serious RV searching in anticipation of hopefully retiring someday sooner rather than later. We were planning to go to the Houston RV Show in February, but Jeff just noticed the Tampa Show is scheduled for January 17th. As luck would have it we're planning to be in Florida Janhar...
Okay, I guess I misunderstood someone's post reply along time ago. I had asked if there is a better RV trip routing (mapping) tool than smartRVroute APP which also included low clearance warnings. Multiple respondents recommended "AllStays". Well as Irma approached Tampa Bay I spent $33 for All...
Hi, I 'm Bill and my wife's name is Laurie. I have been getting wonderful advice from many good people and the RV Dreams website. For some reason I picked Cookie dough as my forum name, one of my favorite ice cream flavors😀 We thought about Full Timing for a long time, but waited for retirement to happen. T...
I am considering training from the company in the following link - https://rvtechcourse.com/. Is this a reputable company? Are there others you would recommend as well?
We are planning a trip to FL next spring and would like to know of any recommended dealers for used Class A Diesel Pushers. We will be in the general Orlando and the Villages area. Not looking to buy just yet, but definitely looking to browse. Thanks in advance!
My wife, Amy, and I were at the spring rally in Tennessee and have decided to attend the show in Hershey. Anyone else from that rally (or not) going to be at the show? We are still looking for a 5th wheel and will likely buy sometime next year and either retire then or in the summer of 2019.
We're contemplating a trip from Mesa, AZ up to Idaho, and beyond to Washington State, Oregon, back to Yosemite National Park and return to Mesa, AZ. We'll be travelling in a 22 ft Class C RV, and we'd like to make it in about 3 weeks. We'd like to travel mid-May to June. Any suggestions on travel routes a...

We are looking at Heartland Big Horn, 40'. Don't have a truck yet, but like the Ford F250 turbo diesel V8. Specs can be confusing. Do we need to go to F350 or will the F250 turbo be ok?
Hello everybody! I am new to the Forum and have a question about 2006 Gulf Stream Coach Cavalier Travel Trailer RVWe have an offer in on a 2010 Keystone Sprinter but the above RV came up for sale and has everything included BUT the title is calling it a Gulf INL, and that makes me think it's a FEMA trailer....
