Hi Everyone. Well, after 15 years the RV-Dreams Community Forum is coming to an end. Since it began in August 2005, we've had 58 Million page views, 124,000 posts, and we've spent about $15,000 to keep this valuable resource for RVers free and open. But since we are now off the road and have settled down for the next chapter of our lives, we are taking the Forum down effective June 30, 2021. It has been a tough decision, but it is now time.
We want to thank all of our members for their participation and input over the years, and we want to especially thank those that have acted as Moderators for us during our amazing journey living and traveling in our RV and growing the RV-Dreams Family. We will be forever proud to have been founders of this Forum and to have been supported by such a wonderful community. Thank you all!!
Carol's house in Austin is under contract. Inspection complete -- no issues -- and closing scheduled for June 25th. Keep fingers crossed that nothing shows up at this point, but I thinkwe are good.
Will be a relief to move on to the next phase of life...

Great news. I hope ours is not far behind. It has been on the market now for 3 weeks. We have had several showings and this Sunday is Open House. Needless to say we are excited with the response so far. I can't wait to get on the road.
Awesome news Carol. Hope things in North Dakota are going well!

Okay, so it's almost July 25th but we are finally closing. Along the way, the IRS decided they wanted more money from some self-employeed years, and then the VA Loan Appraiser decided a small part of the siding needed replaced before closing (even though the couple buying it are having all the siding replaced as soon as it closes) and then at the very last minute the lender decided they needed a new survey. But we're finally there.
I'm waiting on the closing office to email me papers so I can print them, sign and have them notarized and send them back by FedEx. Should fund tomorrow and then be done. Even though I have my real estate license, I'm so glad to have had a great realtor back in Austin! There's no way I could've dealt with the things that came up long distance.

That is what my realtor tells me. There are no guarantees until the final signature. So, on that note, I can't give notice at work or buy the motorhome until after settlement. I might be able to start the paperwork but that means living out of a motel room for several days until all that is final. I am sure that everything will work out for the best. Tomorrow is the buyers inspection so if all goes well, 8/31 is looking good!
Congrats!! Ours closed a week ago. And that statement that its not over is so true. we was to close June 25th and it closed on July 13th. The money was wired to my account yet 4 days latter it still did not show. So I called the title co and they said the bank did not let the wired money run through for some reason . They said they would run it through again but I said just have a check ready and I would be down to camp on there couch until they handed it to me. It was ready when I got there. The only thing that could have gone wrong then is if the check bounced lol!!!
Well, the buyers inspection was postponed until tomorrow. The termite inspection is still on for this afternoon. Hdrider, I think I would have had a meltdown.
Don't be surprised if your Bank puts a 10 day hold on your funds before you can access them. It's all part of the frustrations of selling your house and moving on.By the way congrats on the Sale.
