Hi Everyone. Well, after 15 years the RV-Dreams Community Forum is coming to an end. Since it began in August 2005, we've had 58 Million page views, 124,000 posts, and we've spent about $15,000 to keep this valuable resource for RVers free and open. But since we are now off the road and have settled down for the next chapter of our lives, we are taking the Forum down effective June 30, 2021. It has been a tough decision, but it is now time.
We want to thank all of our members for their participation and input over the years, and we want to especially thank those that have acted as Moderators for us during our amazing journey living and traveling in our RV and growing the RV-Dreams Family. We will be forever proud to have been founders of this Forum and to have been supported by such a wonderful community. Thank you all!!
We currently have a small TT that we purchased in 2007 when we weren't fulltiming and it was easy to get it financed. At this point we are in the "just looking" stage and hope to trade up in a few months. We were told by a salesman that there was a new law passed in 2009 about domecile that makes it more difficult for a fulltimer. Any thoughts on this will be appreciated. Thanks, Tom & Fran
Getting financed as a full timer without a fixed address can be difficult. The folks over at Escapees have a relationship with Alliant Credit Union, who apparently will finance full timers (providing of course they meet all other qualifications). Haven't needed it or used it ourselves, just passing along what we've read about.
We are full-timers and financed our new 5ver through our Credit Union. Even with a excellent credit rating I had to remind them that we had been with them for over 20 years and no black marks on our credit credit history. Our salesman said that the banks were really tough on full-timers and he had several prospects turned down.
I don't know if you are a military veteran or not, but you might try USAA. It used to be one had to be an active or retired officer to join USAA, but they've since opened it up for all veterans, regardless of rank.
While my memory is not a stellar one, I seem to remember someone saying that they got approval for their loan even though they were full-timers without a "permanent" address. I do strongly advise asking them before joining if that is an option for you.

Thanks everyone for the really good suggestions. We are financing our truck through a credit union, so that may be an option, We hadn't thought about USAA. We are members, so that's a good lead to follow. We have a few months to do some research and that gives us some time to research this

We just recently (last week) got financing for our (new to us) used 2004 Alfa Seeya. We went through GoodSam who works with Essex credit, we researched a lot of other financial places to get the best %rate first. Essex credit gave us the best loan term and % rate by far.
We went from applying online for credit, to getting the check in the mail all within 30 days.
Good luck to you guys

We took Dave Ramsey's course Finacial Peace University and got out of debt including our house before our retirement. We sold our house and bought our RV debt free. We would not have gone fulltime unless we were debt free. We could not afford to. We are on our fifth year fulltime and "Life is good" That would be our advise as the best option.
