Hi Everyone. Well, after 15 years the RV-Dreams Community Forum is coming to an end. Since it began in August 2005, we've had 58 Million page views, 124,000 posts, and we've spent about $15,000 to keep this valuable resource for RVers free and open. But since we are now off the road and have settled down for the next chapter of our lives, we are taking the Forum down effective June 30, 2021. It has been a tough decision, but it is now time.
We want to thank all of our members for their participation and input over the years, and we want to especially thank those that have acted as Moderators for us during our amazing journey living and traveling in our RV and growing the RV-Dreams Family. We will be forever proud to have been founders of this Forum and to have been supported by such a wonderful community. Thank you all!!
I have battled a problem of intermittent trailer running lights for a few months now. Every once in a while the marker/running lights would go out and I would find the fuse powering that circuit in the truck blown. I would replace the fuse and things would be good for a few trips then bam it would happen ag...
Has anyone used this type of cooking top. They have been added as standard equipment on the DRV Elite fifth wheel. Do you like it and what type of pots and pans do you use? Linda/Patrick
Jo and I made our annual trip to our optometrist yesterday afternoon. While her examination went well, mine wasn't so good. A few years back, our doctor had told me that I was a "candidate" for cataracts. Yesterday, we found out that he couldn't get my glasses tuned enough to get me to &qu...
Hi All, We are parked, for the winter, in our 5th Wheel down in Arizona. We flew back to Canada for Christmas and one of our nice neighbours offered to take care of our cats...that way the cats could stay in our 5th Wheel instead of having to go to a kennel. Anyway...long story short...one of them escape...
We're looking at 5th wheels and are thinking of just putting our 2yr old on the couch in the living room. We looked at bunkhouses, but they take up so much of the most used living space. We're feeling slightly guilty about not giving her her own space. Where do your kids sleep?
I guess it is time for me to start a topic on Gasoline Motorhomes. How many of you out there own V-10's and how are they doing in the mountains. Back in 1996 I bought my first MH. It was a Chevrolet chassis with a 396?? not sure of the motor. We pulled many passes without too much trouble but always feared the d...
So my wife accedently let the valve which empties our toilet get clogged with toilet paper recently. I bent an old clothes hanger, and removed most of it, but the toilet still doesn't hold water. Is there a easy way to remove the debree from the valve area? It looks to be #66 from this image here http://w...
Any words of wisdom out there on backing a 36' 5th wheel into a camp site? Weve done fairly well backing to the right, but were practicing at park last week (it was almost empty so a good time to just practice) we both tried for about 2 hour to get the dang thing into a left back in space and never could get it. ...
Is anyone a vendor at powwows / N.A Craft shows that could let me know on selling practices or wholesaling to vendors.......... Thanks in advance Mike!!
Hello fellow RV Dreamers, I am John and my wife Karla will be attending the Franklin, NC Rally. We are from Suffolk,VA (southeast corner of Va). We had hoped to rent but the first renter (that we liked) fell thru and since we were both anxious about hitting the road without a decision made I called a local realtor intending to interview 3 and see their marketing plans before deciding. First realtor came and as she viewed the house, we told her tha...
Has anyone stayed at the RV Park in Capulin NM or visited the Homolovi State Park near Winslow AZ? These are our first two stops on our new adventure. We are cleaning up after a major ice storm here, but once that is done we pick up our 5th Wheel and hit the road. Kate

Just bought our 2nd 35' Southwind. It's been 10 years between and am now looking to 'invent' the kitchen again. Going with our old standby 'Corelle' for dishes. Been looking at the cookware with the removable handles - Burg-goo - or something like that. Do any of you have any experience with this bra...
Has anyone taken houseplants along? I have a brown thumb but have managed to keep a Potho plant alive for nine years and hate to leave it behind. Silly, but it was given at my son's funeral and I really want to keep it. Thanks Kate
Hi All, Yesterday we traveled in a really heavy rain for a couple of hours. The rain was so heavy at times we had to stop for a while. After the trip and set-up, I noticed the carpet was wet at both ends of all three slides. Some spots were just damp but one area was particularly wet. Fortunately that spot...
Solar is in and we are officially on the road. Left AM Solar on Thursday, spent the first night at a park by Grants Pass. While trying to find something about half way to Redding, I found a county park that is free. Checked it on Google Earth and it looked doable. Tonight will be our second night. It's GREAT...
This is my second post. Woohoo. I've been reading everything about RVs that I can find. Might be silly question or not. On average, how long does it take for a slide to slide? Do you have to be level to slide also? I've looked at pre-owned RVs and some of the bed slides seem to cover drawers when it is not out...
I currently have a NY CDL, when the DW retires we're looking at setting up domicile in S.D. Has anyone changed over their CDL to a SD CDL, and what was required i.e. written/road test?
I just bought a 2001 class c. It has the older type built in RCA tv. They installed the insignia converter box.. My question is, how do I connect my directv box? I have a vucube dish that I hooked up outside to the only connection on the RV. Got cable ok last week in a park with cable but now want to use my satell...
Hi all,While out looking at RV's today I was determined I needed more counter space than any of them offered but on the way home realized I actually only use a small area here at home in my kitchen, so I'm wondering if I'm putting too much emphasis on this than need be. In reality do you really need much more...
Looking at all kinds of Fifth Wheels and one thing is kind of confusing to me, the different kinds of siding. Can someone please explain the differences in siding on a fifth wheel and the pros and cons of either? Is one warmer then the other, cheaper to maintain, etc. Any input would be appriciated.
Has anyone ever thought of rather than a rally to adopt a park or trail for a weekend to clean & spruce it up.....it would seem it would become a nice way to meet one another and create a way To Let people know what RV Dreamers are all about.............I would think most state parks prior to opening an...
So, we just picked up our 5th wheel last week. The dinette chairs are a fabric. We have a 2yr old. Not a good combination. I had a brilliant idea, it worked and I just wanted to share with you guys. I purchased 2 pillow cases and slipped one over the top of the chair and luckily, our chairs have storage u...
New member and wanted to say hello. Ideally would like to become a FullTimer when I retire in 6 years time. Have been doing a lot of research and found this site / forum to be one of the more informational on the web. Collecting a lot of data at present in order to plan for the future. Have looked at a lot...
We are getting ready to fill out the paperwork and will be mailing it away tomorrow, are there any of our soon to be neighbors wanting to refer us? I think you get a free month or a $25 gift card from A.M. if you do. PM us with your name and PMB# and we'll put it in the appropriate place on our application, first...
I was just curious what kind of dishes everyone uses. I really don't want to get rid of or put into storage my Corelle ware. My husband says we need to get plastic ware. I guess I can see his point if we were going to be on the road more. But for now we are going to stick around our hometown till we can save up a lit...
Tomorrow we are going to be traveling on I-65 north thru Louisville headed back to Michigan. Anyone been thru that stretch lately and have any road tips they want to share? We have not driven that stretch thru Louisville yet, so I am wondering if there is any current construction problems in tha...
Hello Everyone, my name is johanna. I spent summers traveling the U.S. in a motorhome with my parents who were both school teachers. I drove from Boston to OR last May and back again, after my divorce. I'm 40 years old and all of this time, I've been thinking, thinking, thinking - what do I want? I wan...
