Hi Everyone. Well, after 15 years the RV-Dreams Community Forum is coming to an end. Since it began in August 2005, we've had 58 Million page views, 124,000 posts, and we've spent about $15,000 to keep this valuable resource for RVers free and open. But since we are now off the road and have settled down for the next chapter of our lives, we are taking the Forum down effective June 30, 2021. It has been a tough decision, but it is now time.

We want to thank all of our members for their participation and input over the years, and we want to especially thank those that have acted as Moderators for us during our amazing journey living and traveling in our RV and growing the RV-Dreams Family. We will be forever proud to have been founders of this Forum and to have been supported by such a wonderful community. Thank you all!!

Wannabe Dreamer

New member and wanted to say hello.  Ideally would like to become a FullTimer when I retire in 6 years time. Have been doing a lot of research and found this site / forum to be one of the more informational on the web.  Collecting a lot of data at present in order to plan for the future.  Have looked at a lot of units and leaning towards a Diesel Pusher between 35 - 40 feet with a small fuel efficient car in tow.  Would like advice from you guys.

Greetings and welcome to the family.  DW and I are pretty new to the posting thing but have found this to be a very friendly place to be.  Sounds like you are doing the right thing in researching and looking at coaches that you like.

Lots of folks here can help. With 6yrs. to go you should gain lots of confidence in your decision. We reseached along time before we bought...you won't regret all the time spent.....it's part of the fun!

Again, welcome

rkm

Craig,

Welcome to the RV Dreams forums.  With 6 years to go, you've got plenty of time to "pick the brains" of the participants here and check out all kinds of different RV's.  While you have to make the final decisions, we can all help by giving different perspectives as to what are beneficial amenities and appliances on your RV.

Good luck with the research and planning.

Terry

Craig,
That's about when we started planning. We started out leaning toward a class A but with changes in life and jobs I ended up with a truck large enough to pull a fiver paid off and decided a trailer is in our future. Gather information and plan. In our case, once we transition to the full time lifestyle there ain't no going back. We are depending on what the folks on this forum teach us to make the wisest decisions we can. From dishes to dumping, the folks on this forum have the wisdom of Jobe.

We would have loved to had the Big Pusher...as they call it. We had a reality check and saw that we would have to cut back on our trips to afford such an expense. We decided to go with the gas Tiffin Allegro Open Road. We have found it sufficient in hauling our tow and the gas mileage is wonderful. We did give up the notoriety of owning the Big One but we sure like the money left over for traveling. No mater what you decide to get...enjoy it to the fullest!
