Hi Everyone. Well, after 15 years the RV-Dreams Community Forum is coming to an end. Since it began in August 2005, we've had 58 Million page views, 124,000 posts, and we've spent about $15,000 to keep this valuable resource for RVers free and open. But since we are now off the road and have settled down for the next chapter of our lives, we are taking the Forum down effective June 30, 2021. It has been a tough decision, but it is now time.
We want to thank all of our members for their participation and input over the years, and we want to especially thank those that have acted as Moderators for us during our amazing journey living and traveling in our RV and growing the RV-Dreams Family. We will be forever proud to have been founders of this Forum and to have been supported by such a wonderful community. Thank you all!!
So, my husband and myself planned to full-time and workcamp not waiting until retirement. We have a son who is 27 and has Down syndrome. We looked at different programs and he tried some and they were inadequate to unspeakable. So, are plans are in the works of being totally altered. -- Edited by Sno...
I spent the long weekend moving stuff from the house to the RV. This morning hubby took it to the dealer for some warranty repairs. Does anyone ever worry about leaving your home and all your belongings at a repair shop? Of course I would remove smaller, expensive items ( not yet moved to the RV in my case)...
Hello everyone, My husband and I have decided to trade in the 5th Wheel for a Toyhauler. Seems that we are a bit crowded in here with grandabies and children coming back and forth in our home. At any rate, it was our thoughts that we should possibly go to an RV show with the belief that we might do better wi...
We have been involved with RVing for about 30 years to include tents and 8 moterhomes/trailers so, I have been around for awhile. I wanted to say that the people of this forum are the nicest people I have ever encountered. I am impressed that people here know how to be helpful without being judgmental...

My answer!! Its called a Class A RV I have probably better amenities than most fixed homes!! Solar Electric...Fr...
Colorado Less than a week left in Colorado. Working in a private campgound is different from the previous workamper jobs we've held during the last 2 years......(Yes, October will be 2 years since Joan and I moved into our MH fulltime!). Our job responsibilities are generally the same each day wi...
We live in a 1998 Jayco 3240 FL and the L-shaped sofa/bed is SO uncomfortable. We can remove it and replace it, but the only thing I can find is one that I have to order on the internet from a company in Indiana. The Camping World part number is #650334. Does anyone have this? Is it comfortable? Any sug...
Okay, so the boyfriend and I have decided to take the plunge and commit to the whole full-time thing. We're hoping to find someplace to camp host but also want to work on some crafting (he's going to be doing walking sticks and I've got a candle project that I want to start). What we were both wondering is...
A commenter on You Tube suggested I look into AirTabs to make the Class A easier to drive. These are plastic thingies you glue to the back end of a truck, trailer or RV to make it more aerodynamic, by creating a vortex of air... they are not that expensive, about $220 for a set, maybe less, I need to measure m...
Sorry if I'm not posting this in the right area... For those of you who drive a scout vehicle (one person drives the truck/trailer or MH and the other follows in a different vehicle)... what do you do if you need to move and the 2nd person is unable to drive (perhaps due to illness, injury, recovering from...
I found the Danby brand of portable and drawer style dishwashers. The reviews were good, has anyone here used one of these before? I'm hoping to install mine under the sink. From the pictures they have a trash can on a sliding drawer so it doesn't appear that pipes are in the way. The 24th can't come soon e...
There I was, minding my own business last night and perusing forums on the internet, when I heard a new noise coming from the front of the coach. So I got up to check what it might be and found water literally pouring out onto the bathroom floor. Woke Jo up (yep it was late) and ran outside to turn off the toil...
Do any of you know of a source for water hose fittings that are quick-connect but that do not contain lead? All I can find are the ones stocked with garden hose, or plastic ones. I've tried 2 different brands of plastic ones and they leaked like crazy, so right now I'm using some metal ones that I had on hand...
Last time I checked in we were at a very depressing campground in Heflin. Filthy showers, broken washers and dryers, unmaintained grounds.......what were we thinking! The final deal breaker was an 18-wheeler in a pull through site and the driver taking a shower behind the truck with a hose. :OM...
Hello all, looks like a very informative site ~ glad I found you. My husband is 73 years young and waiting on me to retire in 4 years. We have been planning on selling our home right before I retire, paying cash for an Class A Motorhome and hitting the road. He came home yesterday and suggested we sell...
My wife asked me the other day if I was planning on getting a new truck not sure why she asked I really had not thought about it. We were on I-70 headed west somewhere in Kansas I think. Our truck was a 2007 2500HD Duramax which does a pretty decent job of towing our 31.5lk HH 5th wheel. The truck has 122K mil...
We upgraded to 17.5" wheels and want to sell the original wheels and tires. The wheels came with the 5th wheel and are only 1 year old. The tires are as follows: All are 215/80/R16 Load range E 1. Goodyear Marathon Brand New never on RV 2. Goodyear Marathon 5 weeks old with 800 miles 3. Goodyear Mara...
So, our first - and hopefully our only- yard sale will be this weekend. We have never done this before, it was fun going through all the stuff at first, but now I just want it done and over with. I found it to be emotionally exhausting as well as physically and well, I'd rather be RVing! Its supposed to be b...
This is my first time. I am from Holland, have my own camper and travelling a long time severall months per year through CA and the USA. So I have to introduce myself and the name HOTSIEKNOTSIE which I also have on the back of the camper. The wordt means Rumbling and Shaking (with my Adventure over checker...
I found a used 2010 F 350 XLT 4x4 Dually with the 6.4 Diesel Powerstroke at a dealership. This engine is a pre urea diesel. I'd like to know if anyone knows of problems with this engine or if anyone has a 6.4 Powerstroke in their truck. It has the 4.10 limited slip axle. What about gas mileage? Any thoughts...
Okay, I know all of you out there have been doing lots of research or you have in the past. So let's see what conclusions we can come up with. Also, let's break it down by price ranges since our budgets are quite varied. For this thread, let's concentrate on NEW fivers.
So, wh...
Anyone have advice on the best way to navigate my way around a huge RV show? I'm hoping to attend the upcoming show in Hershey, PA, but I will only have 1 day to attend and it's a 3 hour drive to get there. It will be way too exhausting and time consuming to go up & down every aisle. There are also only sp...
Can anyone share how the ride of the F-550 and F-450 compare? If we purchase the F-550, we would likely add an air ride suspension. We are in the planning stages for Full-Time RVing and we thought we had determined our towing vehicle (thanks to many discussions on RV-Dreams and a few other websites.) We...
One thing that would brighten and freshen up my interior is get rid of the faded carpet, and replace it with a laminate or wood (or wood look) floor. I'm sitting here, thinking about it, and wondering, did they put the dinette over the carpet? If I tear it up, what's under there? And, how much might it cost...
As I've posted previously, we have our commercial / loft building on the market. We now have an offer from a new doctor in town who has his financing in place, bldg passed inspection, just waiting on appraisal (not worried about it) and closing set for 9/18!!! We vacate bldg on closing date so it will be a...
Jack, Bill & Linda and Howard have written about the MorRyde upgrade. Our 3650 RL Trilogy has dual 8,000 lb axels, correct track wheel alignment system, and 12" brakes. From what we've read we wondering if we should upgrade for safety. BTW, our Dually doesn't have an exhaust brake so we're g...
I'm quite sure the best security we will have is my 3 year old Lap / Retriever, "Pup" but I think I would like a security system. I am clueless. Any thoughts on the need for them and which systems are a good buy? We are buying used and are making it our mission to bring in a modify / remodel on a lea...
Hi everyone! I have recently become infatuated with traveling and RV living (and getting away from my cubicle) and have been lurking all over the Internet to see what it's all about. Recent events have given me the boost to get the process started (booting a cheating boyfriend, apt lease up in 3 month...
