Hi Everyone. Well, after 15 years the RV-Dreams Community Forum is coming to an end. Since it began in August 2005, we've had 58 Million page views, 124,000 posts, and we've spent about $15,000 to keep this valuable resource for RVers free and open. But since we are now off the road and have settled down for the next chapter of our lives, we are taking the Forum down effective June 30, 2021. It has been a tough decision, but it is now time.
We want to thank all of our members for their participation and input over the years, and we want to especially thank those that have acted as Moderators for us during our amazing journey living and traveling in our RV and growing the RV-Dreams Family. We will be forever proud to have been founders of this Forum and to have been supported by such a wonderful community. Thank you all!!
Do any of you know of a source for water hose fittings that are quick-connect but that do not contain lead? All I can find are the ones stocked with garden hose, or plastic ones. I've tried 2 different brands of plastic ones and they leaked like crazy, so right now I'm using some metal ones that I had on hand but they're for garden hose and contain lead. I've written about the whole mess on the blog along with some pics. Any help from those with great Google-fu skills (Terry?) would be most appreciated!
I presume you are looking for fittings that are both quick connect and disconnect for garden hose fittings. Also presuming that these are for the water supply line from the hydrant for your RV.
You might want to consider ordering brass quick connects from the RV Water Filter Store.
The quick connects can be found at their site under Useful Gadgets. The description says, "Made in USA by Parker, these high quality fittings are smooth and use four stainless ball bearings."
I have a complete system from the folks there. Hoses, connections, Kwik Connect, filtration system (dual large canister), water softener, etc. They're great folks to deal with. Shipping is quick and economical.
Terry, yes, those are what I am looking for, I guess I'll order the Camco's and hope they don't leak. I wish the O-ring was on the male end instead of on the female side, but I guess you have to take what you can get.
Gene, I've bookmarked the US Plastic site.
