Hi Everyone. Well, after 15 years the RV-Dreams Community Forum is coming to an end. Since it began in August 2005, we've had 58 Million page views, 124,000 posts, and we've spent about $15,000 to keep this valuable resource for RVers free and open. But since we are now off the road and have settled down for the next chapter of our lives, we are taking the Forum down effective June 30, 2021. It has been a tough decision, but it is now time.

We want to thank all of our members for their participation and input over the years, and we want to especially thank those that have acted as Moderators for us during our amazing journey living and traveling in our RV and growing the RV-Dreams Family. We will be forever proud to have been founders of this Forum and to have been supported by such a wonderful community. Thank you all!!

Drove the RV Home Today

Drove 5 hours to the RV dealer yesterday with my Granddaughter.  We had the scheduled PDI on my "new" used MH and spent the night.

Lesson learned:  Go ahead and open that propane valve during the PDI.  Then you can check that water heater and furnace actually work.  Most importantly you won't be standing outside in your PJs at midnight trying to figure out why you have no heat!!

The technicians worked on all the little things that needed fixed this morning and we got on the road by 11 am.  My route was a mix of interstate and state routes and I made it back home in 6 hours.  My previous MH was only 24 feet and I had been worrying about driving/handling this 36 footer.  It really went very well and I was pretty proud of myself.  I had imagined holding up traffic and was surprised at how easily I was at or just below the speed limit much of the time.   The "mountainy"  part slowed me down a bit!!  Backed it into my driveway with only one try and no spotter helping me.

I bought this RV at Safford RV in Thornsburg, VA (Just south of Fredricksburg on I-95) and can report that absolutely everyone treated me very well.  I could hardly believe how willing they were to fix things on a 10 yr old coach including replacing a fantastic fan that was not working correctly.  Technicians gave me their cell phone numbers in case I needed help after hours last night.  My salesman checked on me several times in the evening to ensure we were OK.  All in all a very pleasant experience and I am so happy with my new home.

We visited Safford when we were looking for a fulltime unit. They were great to be around and talk with, no pressure sales, actually left us alone to wander thru models.
Congrats on your new rig and getting it home.
Safe travels!

No road trips in it yet. We're taking a short trip this weekend & then later this month making a trip to Nebraska. That will give us a better feel of it. We're still waiting for our house to sell before we can fulltime. I hope you enjoy your new home. Maybe we'll see you on the road sometime.
