Hi Everyone. Well, after 15 years the RV-Dreams Community Forum is coming to an end. Since it began in August 2005, we've had 58 Million page views, 124,000 posts, and we've spent about $15,000 to keep this valuable resource for RVers free and open. But since we are now off the road and have settled down for the next chapter of our lives, we are taking the Forum down effective June 30, 2021. It has been a tough decision, but it is now time.
We want to thank all of our members for their participation and input over the years, and we want to especially thank those that have acted as Moderators for us during our amazing journey living and traveling in our RV and growing the RV-Dreams Family. We will be forever proud to have been founders of this Forum and to have been supported by such a wonderful community. Thank you all!!
Since this is more of an advertisement, although not from me, I'm putting it here instead of in the "Working and Volunteering" category. I'm posting this here because some of you might find it of interest.
I know nothing about this RV park or its owners, but I do have an online acquaintance with the individual that posted it on another forum. The following is a communication between "John" (my acquaintance) and the park owners.
John,
Below is the ad that we currently have running for our 2 summer and 1 fall workamper positions – 2 summer positions are available for immediate move-in. Please cut and paste this ad and send it wherever and to whomever you can get it to that might be able to help us find some good new staff. At this time we are going to be looking for a trade worker couple as has always been the case in the past; but as we get closer to the summer, we might be willing to offer some cash compensation since our summer business cash flow might allow that. But, for now, we are searching for work-camper couples as usual, since …. we are as poor as old retired school teachers on fixed incomes. Thank you in advance for trying to help us with this. I hope you and Marlene made it back home safely, and look forward to staying in touch until we see you again this winter.
This is what John wrote when he posted this at SOITC.
Playa del Rio is a small park located between Gulf Shores Alabama and Pensacola Florida. The park has wonderful new owners Mark and Kristy Mcbride. They are investing a lot of money to bring this wonderful park little up to a 5 star rv resort. We have spent many winters there and we are greatful for the efforts of Mark and Kristy to make our stays at their park so enjoyable.
And this is a link to the Playa del Rio RV Resort's website, where they do have a contact page. As for the mention in the owner's comments, John didn't supply a link to that ad, so you may just have to contact them and ask about the positions. I'll contact John and see if he has the advertisement. If there is more, I'll post it here.
Terry

OK. I did some using of my "Bing-fu" skills and found this advertisement online. It doesn't seem to have any date associated with it, so I'm hoping that it is the "current" advertisement. (Ignore the references to Oklahoma related stuff as that probably popped in because I'm in Oklahoma.)
More from John with regards to the ad for Playa del Rio RV Resort. I've not compared the wording between the ad I found online and this that John provided:
FL - US ::: Work And Live At The Beach 2014-04-04 12:14:50 2702
Workamper couples needed immediately for Summer 2014 and Fall 2014 in Pensacola, FL. This position is for a couple only and is a work-for-site position only -- no cash compensation paid. Playa Del Rio RV Resort is a small, 26-site, RV park on the water, with a great atmosphere – “just a little laid-back RV park at the beach” as we say! Our amenities, waterfront pavilion, private beach access, boat docks, and clubhouse are why people LOVE the Playa Del Rio, and why you will love working and living here!
Our Resort is right across the street from the Gulf of Mexico, with direct private beach access; and sits on Old River/Perdido Bay with boat docks and a pier where people love to crab and fish. There are many outstanding restaurants in the area, and great shopping, attractions, museums, and area recreational activities.
We offer full hook-up sites: (30/50 amp) power, water, cable, sewer, WiFi, and laundry facilities in exchange for your work.
Work hours: Inside staff works 9-6 weekdays and 10-5 Sundays; outside staff works 9-2 weekdays and 10-2 Sundays.
