Hi Everyone. Well, after 15 years the RV-Dreams Community Forum is coming to an end. Since it began in August 2005, we've had 58 Million page views, 124,000 posts, and we've spent about $15,000 to keep this valuable resource for RVers free and open. But since we are now off the road and have settled down for the next chapter of our lives, we are taking the Forum down effective June 30, 2021. It has been a tough decision, but it is now time.
We want to thank all of our members for their participation and input over the years, and we want to especially thank those that have acted as Moderators for us during our amazing journey living and traveling in our RV and growing the RV-Dreams Family. We will be forever proud to have been founders of this Forum and to have been supported by such a wonderful community. Thank you all!!
Hello, I just finished reading your article posted at: http://www.rv-dreams.com/choosing-campgrounds.html My question is, it looks like this may have been written several years ago. Is there anything important that you might add or modify that is different today. Particularly, an importa...
New member from Nashville area. We pick up our new 5th wheel this weekend. Never RV'd before. Camped as a kid and young adult, but never since. We have been thinking about buying a vacation home for years. This one will just be mobile. Been reasearching RVing the past few months a great deal. Lov...
I re posted this because it looked like I was talking about buying a new Samsung or something like that! The other post said new TV, a bit confusing. Ordered a 2015 RAM LongHorn 3500 Dually with all the bells and whistles including the Aisin trans and 4:10 gears. Looking to order a 15/16 38' Mobile/El...
Wish to trade 2006 Coachmen Epic 3480 for a larger 5th wheel & truck. Epic is 36' long on a Ford chassis. 20,200 miles. Tires are less than 2 years old. 2 slides. New carpet in front. Includes generator, 2 A/C, roof mounted Directv satellite, leveling jacks, 19' awning, and more. Very clea...
Yet another mechanical problem (seems we just can't leave Arcadia!) After hitching up the truck yesterday, despite the fact that that the king pin was locked securely within the jaws of the hitch, something just didn't seem right, though we couldn't put our fingers on it. We were blessed that Bill &...
Hey Everyone! We are looking into adding an RV-Dreams Live Chat Room to our website for all of our visitors. Currently we are testing a package. We have it free for seven days and we are limited to seven users chatting at once. Update: They increased us to 25 concurrent users for the trial period. W...
OK, so what's the trick to managing all of the pictures you take? We are using three or four cameras--two camera phones, a one shot (for situations that I don't want to bring my good camera, but want better pics than my camera phone) and a the DSLR camera. I want to get this set up right so I don't have to go...
I was told that people and pets can stay in the 5er while you're driving down the road as long as their is a 2 way camera and communication??? Has anyone heard of this and agree with this??
We have a Jensen LED 26" 12 volt flat screen TV for sale. We bought it in September at Camping World. Works great; we just upgraded to a larger TV. We paid $350 for it, and we are willing to let it go for $200, plus shipping. Perfect for Wallydocking, as it runs on 12 volt. PM me if you are intereste...
I've been living in my MH for 7 months, now; and I figure it's time to learn how to use the other half of my Advantium Profile 120. I read that you can use any kind of material to cook convection; however, my question is which will be the BEST cookware for Speedcooking. After net research, I've kinda settle...
I am wondering if anyone has done the beet harvest job as a workkamper? Also wondreing if any women have done it? I was thinking it would be a great way for both of us to make some quick cash. We are from Minnesota so we know what the weather is like there at that time of year. Thanks for any input!
I was hoping to hear from someone who has taken delivery from both a dealer and a manufacturer on new purchases. Or, any feedback is always good. I asked yesterday at the dealer and he told me that it was a $3000.00 cost to pick up a new motorhome at Newmar. We are in Eugene, Or. so someone either the dealer o...
Fred and I have found our coach. We did a lot of research and have signed a contract for a 2006 Tiffin Phaeton 40QDH. We will be full time soon. target date February 2nd 2015. Part of our process was using the Motorhome Comparison Guide by Randall Eaton. We would like to pass it along to someone still in th...
My wife and I are looking to purchase a 5th wheel/have one built. Does anyone have any knowledge about a company called North American RVs and Cargo Trailers or the quality of their product? Their website is: rvsandcargotrailers.com Thanks, Joe and Lindy
Very soon I will be faced with taking work trips while Lee is back with the fiver and I am not sure logistically how to make this work. If I fly out and he needs or wants to move along to the next place, my car will be at the airport I left from and I will need to follow along. It seems very challenging logistic...
Lee and I are early risers...Lee gets up stupid early, but others we have been with are more night owls. I was wondering where everyone stands on that and if anyone has a mixed marriage :) How;s that work if your not on the same schedule. I do know on the days I want to sleep in some, sometimes he's up and t...
Just curious...if you were to create a winter weather survival kit for a fellow RVer who will be experiencing extreme cold and snow in their rig, what would you include?
When traveling, I can see there will be times when we will be out of the RV at museums or libraries or any number of places we want to see. I can't imagine the cat will have any trouble at all being left alone (he'll probably enjoy the solitude). What about leaving a dog for a few hours? What does everyon...
It is time to replace the front curtains in our 1987 Rockwood (yes the original ones). We want to make our own as my other half does sew and we have a Singer 758 slant needle of 1970 vintage to work with. I want the new curtains to be Velcro all around the sides and bottom of the windshield. And we have a few &qu...
We were at minus 6 on our thermometer this AM in Grand Rapids, Michigan. While we were prepared for it, many folks in the southeast US weren't expecting this cold. How are you holding up down there? Jim
Since moving into our rig last Summer we have stayed in Canada. Now we are planning our first six month snowbird excursion for Fall 2015-16 and are having some difficulties choosing where to stay. We had hoped to travel around mid to south Florida for the beaches, but finding available places to boo...
I'm in the market for a cover for our truck bed and wanted to see if anybody has a better suggestion than what I've found so far. Due to limited clearance between the bed rails on the F450 and the bottom of the New Horizons bedroom I want something that sticks up above the bed rails as little as possible. The...
Whatever was used to seal our skylight around the edge separated from the rubber roof. It looks rubbery but more like self-leveling sealant. I am going to pull the skylight up and clean up the surface and was thinking about re- attaching it with 100 % pure silicone to the roof, or is there something be...
Can't figure how to blog and respond to members who responded to my questions. Everyone has been so wonderful and I'd like to respond to their blogs but can't figure out how to find their blogs to re-read them. Thank you Folks.
