Hi Everyone. Well, after 15 years the RV-Dreams Community Forum is coming to an end. Since it began in August 2005, we've had 58 Million page views, 124,000 posts, and we've spent about $15,000 to keep this valuable resource for RVers free and open. But since we are now off the road and have settled down for the next chapter of our lives, we are taking the Forum down effective June 30, 2021. It has been a tough decision, but it is now time.
We want to thank all of our members for their participation and input over the years, and we want to especially thank those that have acted as Moderators for us during our amazing journey living and traveling in our RV and growing the RV-Dreams Family. We will be forever proud to have been founders of this Forum and to have been supported by such a wonderful community. Thank you all!!
My husband and I live in Ontario. All three of our children have married Americans and live in Colorado, Florida, and Missouri. In 2008, we bought a small 5th-wheel trailer to park in their driveways and have our own space while visiting them. As it turns out, we love RVing and might like to go full time w...
I recently completed a review of the Rogue Wave. This device uses a Ubiquity Bullet and external antenna to better capture wifi signals. It is similar in function to the WiFiRanger Mobile, but is oriented at ONLY using wifi as the Internet source (backhaul). It performs that function quite well and i...
How do you prevent condensation from accumulating on windows when it is cold outside and warm inside your rig? I'm talking fifth wheel if that makes a difference. Thanks.
It will have to be a smaller profile one, but I think i've got enough room to install a treadmill desk (maybe something like this http://www.trekdesk.com/ ) if I remove a recliner. That leaves me with only one recliner and one desk chair for seating, but I'm single and don't entertain at all. And I'm a...
We are about to replace our TV (in our S&B as we do not have out RV yet), and we want to buy one that we can use when we buy our RV. What is a reasonable size that will fit in a 36' - 40' Class A? Thank you all in advance for the advice.
Still in the research and preparation stage, but plans are to have a lifestyle of visiting friends and family across the country, especially over the summer months. One concern is parking – it's not like I can leave a giant FW on the street in a residential neighbourhood for days on end But we obviously...
I am looking for a CG in the Ft Myers area for 3 weeks in February 2015. CG needs to be close to I-75 with easy access to the Interstate. Also CG need to be able to accommodate big rigs (we are 43 Ft) and full hookups with a view of the Southern Sky for the Satellite.
Been thinking recently and this one popped in my head. When applying for, or renewing, your passport, what address do you use? Does the government allow the use of a mail forwarding service as your address? Thanks in advance for the info!
Hi there. I am a Forest Service employee who is looking for campground hosts in Seeley Lake, MT. Feel free to do a google search on Seeley for more information, but it is a beautiful mountain paradise. Our district contains a chain of lakes varying in size and all of our campgrounds are lakeside. The opp...
After getting through the holidays and a health challenge we are ready to get back to our homework. We are on the hunt for a 24 - 26 foot 5th wheel after 20 years in an 8 foot popup camper. We want the shorter length as we will be in campgrounds vs RV parks. That size range will be easier to find and park in camps...
Hi all, Well after extensive research we chose Florida as our home state and St. Brendan's Island as our mail service. In order to get our licenses the State of Florida needs two pieces of mail from a credible source (bank, insurance company etc) showing the new address along with passport or birth c...
We have a 2002 2500HD Chevy gasser (496) that will be our towing vehicle. We have decided that a 30-32' travel trailer meets our needs, and keeps the weight reasonable, at around 10k loaded. The truck only has about 30,000 on the clock at the moment, but I plan to do a lot of preventive stuff before we leav...
Hi, We want to start full-timing, but want to also stay fairly mobile (i.e., don't necessarily want to just stay put in one location all season) That said, it'd be nice to be able to stay longer if we feel like it Have looked into ThousandTrails, but because of the 2 week at a time limit, I'm curious to know...
We are buying a 2008 Newmar Cypress 39' fifth wheel. The current Goodyear LT235/85R16-G tires are the originals and made on 31/07 so need to be replaced. Anyone have a recommendation on replacements?
Hi folks, My name is Kyle, and I recently joined the forum to research and plan what will hopefully be at least a one year road trip around America. The condensed version of why I am here is both positive, and negative. I have always wanted to see "whats out there", and traveling around towi...
We are FTs and have domicile in SD. We have Direct TV and cannot get local network and public tv with the satellite. In some parks we have been able to get network and public TV using the roof antenna but now we are at a Texas State Park as camp hosts and can't get many channels with the roof antenna due to...
Figured I throw this out there.. you never know..Thinking long term.. will need a place for a "start up".. seems like a good time to buy here.. if I can swing it.. Starting a search for a 10k sqft warehouse in or around Citrus county or Sumter County. Looking for a deal. Have some Cash, Trade...
Going full time in 2 months and have been looking at different hitches. I've looked at Reece, ProSeries and Curt hitches. Does anyone have a recommendation? The service guy where we bought the 5th wheel said any one of those is a good hitch as long as the weight rating is correct. Our 5th wheel is 18,000 p...
Hi, I hope this is the correct way to do this. I have had some kind of an RV most of my adult life, seems like I always have questions. I am currently looking again as my last was a lemon, and now that that is settled I am ready to begin anew. See you all on the road.
Got stuck on I-10 in stopped traffic on the 2nd due to a semi loaded with frozen chicken running into the back of a semi loaded with beehives full of bees. Accident was just east of Dillon Rd. Near Indio/Palm Springs. Both trucks caught on fire so it was Honey Grilled Chicken for everyone...LOL I was in a...
My wife and I are in the process of buying our first RV. It's an older Class C 1996 Fleetwood Tioga Montara. Its very clean, needs some minor repairs, but will be our first RV. We can't wait to just load up and go.... We live in New Jersey, we're both in our 50's and not close to retirement. We're looking...

Hello Do any of you have an older motorhome with the large built in Propane tank? We are having trouble finding anywhere that will fill it up around louisville KY. Many are saying because it is built in that they don't do it because of regulations. So if that is the case, we are wondering if it would be...
So here is one for all of the experts...or at least the more experienced. We are wanting to do some extended part time/full time RV living. Currently we have a 27 TFT. tow behind that we will be selling. We are Mom, Dad, and 3 kids ages 7, 12, and 15. We had been planning on buying a Class C, but recently we wer...
