Hi Everyone. Well, after 15 years the RV-Dreams Community Forum is coming to an end. Since it began in August 2005, we've had 58 Million page views, 124,000 posts, and we've spent about $15,000 to keep this valuable resource for RVers free and open. But since we are now off the road and have settled down for the next chapter of our lives, we are taking the Forum down effective June 30, 2021. It has been a tough decision, but it is now time.

We want to thank all of our members for their participation and input over the years, and we want to especially thank those that have acted as Moderators for us during our amazing journey living and traveling in our RV and growing the RV-Dreams Family. We will be forever proud to have been founders of this Forum and to have been supported by such a wonderful community. Thank you all!!

Yard Sale

After 5 sales today was our grand finale sale.  All furniture gone!  So we are getting more and more freedom away from that house as I sit in our fiver (in an empty lot) next to our house and look out the window at it after living there for 10 yrs....all who came to the sale LOVED the house, but deep down in my heart I will never forget it.  I will be at peace as soon as the buyer gets into it and I get away from it. It has been a trying time for all of us including the doggies as they no longer have an half acre lot to run on....just hope it is all worth it.

Judy....take pictures of the house and keep for memories.  You will feel the sadness but when you get about 5 miles from your house pulling your new home on wheels, on your new adventure of freedom, you will feel the tingle of anticipation and let out a sigh of relief.  We are rooting for you!!!

Judy....you have so many wonderful adventures awaiting you! There are so many hours of freedom and excitement, moments of anxiety and sadness as you head out on this new life. Having pictures is a great idea.  I have pictures of the pictures on my family picture wall.  All the originals went to the kids. I have 8000 pix on my computer and can go back to my old home anytime...but I love my little traveling home.  I had a few moments of tears with my daughter as we sold things and cleaned out our house...but I never, ever regret our decision. It was time to move on.

It's good to acknowledge your feelings and we're here to listen and cheer you through this transition!

hugs....Joan

Judy....after 21 years in our home it was a little traumatic at first also...but take a deep breath, gather a few cherished pictures & one really important "thing" (mine was a Hallmark statue of a married couple our son gave us for a wedding gift") & think of every where you are going to go & see...we went back to the neighborhood about  3 weeks after we moved out & picked up some mail that had been delivered there. The new owners invited us in, it didn't look anything like when we left it, empty & spotless. When we got outside to the truck, I looked at Larry & said "well, do you miss it bad? He replied "not at all!" And I was surprised to realize I felt the same way! We have been fulltiming for 3 1/2 months now & can honestly say we have loved EVERY minute of it & wouldn't go back to the stick house for anything!

Actually, we put some things in storage for 1 year (10 x 15, mostly boxes) & we have now made the decision to go back to Vegas in December after only 6 months & sell it all! I kept all my Princess House crystal, my capodimonte, our grandfather's clock, big screen tv etc just in case! We thought we might wish we had another home. Unless health issues force a different decision, this is it for us. Even if we stopped moving around, we could be comfortable in this home. I did have a momentary pang when discussing selling my grandfather's clock yesterday but decided there is no comparison to owning my "stuff" and this lifestyle...we haven't felt this alive in years!!

By the way, I think it helps if you can e-mail, or do a trip journal, or find someway to stay in close touch with your family & friends. We had alot of "you'll be sorry & you'll be back soon" talk for the last 30 days we were home. Now, due in part I think to our mytripjournal site our family & friends are saying "wow, it looks like you are having so much fun, & everything is so beautiful & I sure would like to be doing what you are doing!" Quite a change in attitude...they are so happy that we are fortunate to be spending all of our time in God's beautiful country!

We will be thinking of you. This is an exciting time for you. If you need to talk just PM us.

Love to visit with you.

I want to thank you all for the kiind words and encouragement.....I guess it is normal to feel this way.   Yes I have taken lots of deep breaths and think of the great places we shall see and go.... I have lots of memories from the house with lots of pictures. I even went and picked all my roses off and brought them to our table in the RV as they are still blooming here in New Mexico.  Just need to cast off here in about a wk and think I shall feel much better then.
