Hi Everyone. Well, after 15 years the RV-Dreams Community Forum is coming to an end. Since it began in August 2005, we've had 58 Million page views, 124,000 posts, and we've spent about $15,000 to keep this valuable resource for RVers free and open. But since we are now off the road and have settled down for the next chapter of our lives, we are taking the Forum down effective June 30, 2021. It has been a tough decision, but it is now time.
We want to thank all of our members for their participation and input over the years, and we want to especially thank those that have acted as Moderators for us during our amazing journey living and traveling in our RV and growing the RV-Dreams Family. We will be forever proud to have been founders of this Forum and to have been supported by such a wonderful community. Thank you all!!
We are planning a trip from our home in Kansas to the Grand Canyon via New Mexico, then on to Sequoia/Yosemite and then visiting our daughter and son-in-law near San Francisco before heading up the coast to Seattle. Whew! We took our first "plunge" in our new-to-us 2007 32' Holiday Rambler...
My wife and I have decided to get a fifth wheel and go full time. We have been out looking at RV's and researching online. We have narrowed our selection down to two, with us leaning heavily towards one of them. When we first decided we would like to do this, she said "You know we can't do this now, we'll h...
We want to go full time. My husband is 67 and has medicare. I am 57 and have years to go before medicare. We are working on our budget to see what it will take to go full time. Lots of numbers are flexible, but health care is not and it is a hugh expense. Practically a budget buster. What do you do? Do yo...
OK - so the subject line is worded a bit strongly. The tabloids do it all the time... We own and live in a 2016 Grand Design Reflection fifth wheel which we like very much. In the year that we've been on the road, though, we've had to replace the tires. One took a piece of rebar through the tread on I-16 coming...

The title is not very inspiring for the speed of a vehicle!! But when it comes to learning all about the full-time RV world it seems like blinding fast and overwhelming. We currently live in Colorado (north of Denver) and plan to retire at the end of the year and go full-time traveling. We have ZERO RV e...

Gorilla Glue is MAGIC!! It will keep your shelves in place. Voice of experience AFTER the fact, but now I have learned. -- Edited by RonC on Monday 17th of April 2017 09:15:56 PM

My better half and I are travelling out to Mesa Verde, CO in early June. On our return trip I'd like to spend a few hours in Santa Fe doing the tourist thing before we start meandering back east. Any suggestions on parking the RV (30' Class C) and doing a walking tour in the downtown area? (we don't have...
Hi, Everyone, While reading posts on another forum I was reminded of a problem we had with an old RV. It was a '91 Gulfstream 3880. Being used when we got it I expected problems, however, not this one. The black tank would not drain! I tried everything. Spraying water into the drain... I even made a press...

I have heard that people use truck stop truck washes to keep their RV clean and looking new. Is this a true statemet? Is it like a car wash where you just pull through? Thanks for your feedback.
Having purchased everything from cars to airplanes, we have learned that the dealers "final price" is not final. Once you take back your deposit and walk away then the salespeople "go back to their supervisors", again. Now, we are dealing. As Nancy Reagan said, "just say no". If they believe you are a...
We'll be picking up our DRV JX450 in a few weeks . After lots of research, and even more weighing pros and cons and personal preference, I decided to go ahead and have the gas cooktop/oven combo installed. DRV is now using Furrion stoves/ovens (separate components as opposed to a range), and so far,...

Hi, everyone! Hubby and I have had the full-timing dream for over 20 years, but we're just now reaching the point in our careers and our lifespans where it's beginning to get real. Hubby is 67 and I am 58, and right now our goal is to make the leap sometime around my 60th birthday in October 2018. He's alrea...
Comfort Ride used to be an air bag hitch. They have now changed to an "air cell" technology ... no air bags to leak or deteriorate due to UV exposure and oil impregnated bushings ... so no need to grease. Seems like a better mouse trap, but I was wondering if anyone has used a new Comfort Ride and if you kno...
Hi! I am glad to be accepted into this RV online group. We are just starting out and have so many questions. We have a 38' (I think) 2015 Jayco 5th wheel. My husband's custom order Ford 350 dually has just arrived and we still had to wait to put 500 miles on the truck before towing. (We purchased the 5th whee...
