Hi Everyone. Well, after 15 years the RV-Dreams Community Forum is coming to an end. Since it began in August 2005, we've had 58 Million page views, 124,000 posts, and we've spent about $15,000 to keep this valuable resource for RVers free and open. But since we are now off the road and have settled down for the next chapter of our lives, we are taking the Forum down effective June 30, 2021. It has been a tough decision, but it is now time.
We want to thank all of our members for their participation and input over the years, and we want to especially thank those that have acted as Moderators for us during our amazing journey living and traveling in our RV and growing the RV-Dreams Family. We will be forever proud to have been founders of this Forum and to have been supported by such a wonderful community. Thank you all!!
Each travel season I plan a theme for our travels as we travel from South (Mexico) to the North (Washington state). We aren't looking for a direct route, we like to wander as we go. We have done the Pacific coast (lighthouses), Highway 395 (ghost towns) Colorado/New Mexico (ancient Indian ruins), U...
Is there anything that will clean the gunk off the inside of a gray tank? We have the See Level ultrasonic level indicators that New Horizons installs…and although they're better than the float type sensors they still indicate wrong when the sides of the tank get gunked up. I've tried using the built...
First, I will briefly vent. Theoretically, we are leaving to full time Friday morning, less than 48 hours. And, campgrounds that use a white hose for non potable water at their dump stations should be locked in a room with fourteen female cats in heat for a week. OK. I have a 2011 Berkshire DP. The inst...
We're getting ready to move next week and would like to clean our black tank. I'm sure I once read a post where someone, maybe Lucky Mike?, gave directions for using ice and Dawn, I think it was, in the holding tank while moving. But, of course, I can't find that thread! So, can someone, or even everyone...
My name is Marc. Many years ago I had planned to buy a travel trailer and truck and see the USA. I bought the trailer, but before I bought a truck I met my wife, dated, got married, etc. Working construction, I have the opportunity to travel a bit and though we tried moving around together in the 1980s my wif...

As Canadians we have to totally change our internet and cell phone service for our US travels. What is the recommended set-up for full timers? We need email, Internet, streaming, VPN. I have an iPad, hubby has a Surface, and we both have iPhones.I checked out Technomadia but they are complicated and...
The reviews are starting to come in . There are some user reviews on the escapee forums . The response has been overwhelming. We should be shipping the car units in the next few weeks for those with smaller RVs. Thank you everyone for the patience after all the trials and tribulations over the last 3 year...
We recently reunited with friends we met at Howard and Linda's boondock rally last year. We have similar motorhomes, so we often share experiences with upgrades and maintenance. Our friends told me about a tech finding some bolts loose on their slide mechanism and recommended we check ours. I pu...
My wife and I (mid 60's, no kids) are planning a trip from Vancouver, BCS to San Diego from about June 1st to Sept 15th. We have a 26' TT (overall length). We plan to stay mostly on the coastal highway but will go inland for anything worthwhile.I realize this is the the busiest season, but this is when we...

Staying in a small rv park they have on site at $20 a night. Small but with hookups. So yesterday we did the tour and seen a movie ($26 a piece) about future space tr...

Ok, my previous post posed the question, "toyhauler 5er vs Class A diesel with MC lift". Based on our research, discussions and in no small part your great advice, we are planning to go Class A diesel with a MC lift, and small toad behind. We have been looking at the various vehicles that can be towed 4 w...
My husband and I are facing a delima. We have one African Grey, Baby Huey, plus a dog that we will be traveling with. Our Grey is approx 28 years old and it's not fair to leave him with a pet sitter if we are going to be gone lengths at a time. I have been curious how other people travel with their birds. We are ne...
We just attended the huge RV show in Tampa, Florida. We got to tour a ton of different rigs and explore different accessories. However, we were surprised to find that there were no accessories, fixtures, etcetera to secure cages, specifically bird cages, while the rig was in motion. It is our inte...
Greetings to all, Considering a leap into the RV world. I am starting to look at Toyhaulers, not so much for toys but for the dogs. From what I can see so far, I am probably going about this all wrong, as I already have a 2017 RAM 2500 with 8" bed, fifth wheel ready, 4WD, and am wanting a trailer to fit the truc...
Let me start by summarizing what we've already done: 1. Bought the trailer and truck. 2. Sold the house and massively downsized. 3. Worked with our financial planner to ensure we can afford to live the dream. 4. Made a preliminary plan for leaving Canada Nov. 1, travelling down the west coast and worki...
G'day All: I'm fairly new to this site as a member, but I've been reading for some time now and I think this may be one of the best sites for advice. We're looking to buy a large toy hauler fifth wheel to go full-time and I've been giving some thought to power loads, and keeping the better half happy, a...
watch Another good comparison done by the guys at TFL Truck & Mr. Truck running up & down the Ike Gauntlet. The Big Three are pumping out some very impressive trucks. Look at the spec. sheets and you might be able to find a winner if you split hairs. When you look at these runs it is pretty clear...
Hi Howard, I am sure I am missing something, but I am trying to go back and see all of the posts I have started over the last three years, but when I select Topics Started or Topics Commented I don't see a choice at the bottom to scroll to another page. I can view a group by oldest, newest, etc selection but c...
