Hi Everyone. Well, after 15 years the RV-Dreams Community Forum is coming to an end. Since it began in August 2005, we've had 58 Million page views, 124,000 posts, and we've spent about $15,000 to keep this valuable resource for RVers free and open. But since we are now off the road and have settled down for the next chapter of our lives, we are taking the Forum down effective June 30, 2021. It has been a tough decision, but it is now time.
We want to thank all of our members for their participation and input over the years, and we want to especially thank those that have acted as Moderators for us during our amazing journey living and traveling in our RV and growing the RV-Dreams Family. We will be forever proud to have been founders of this Forum and to have been supported by such a wonderful community. Thank you all!!
We see all those car commericals on tv and I wonder why we dont see some of the RV industries advertising. Maybe its the cost of the advertising or the cost of fuel nowadays. southwestjudy
We see RVIA (Recreational Vehicle Industry Association) commercials on TV frequently and less frequently local area RV dealer commercials, especially advertising local RV shows.
It's a tough time for the RV industry now as it is for the automobile industry among many others.
PSSST......This is all a big secret...We do not want everyone to know how much fun this is. Do Not advertise it on any TV network...Once the government finds out about this new life style they will start taxing us......Mums the word...
Interesting question, and although Speedy is completely right, it is not the reason RV manufacturers do not advertise on TV.
I spent thirty-five plus years in advertising, and assure you the millions on millions of households reached by TV is way too expensive and therefore not cost effective.
Manufacturers use target marketing via RV publications to reach only people interested in RVs. Although still expensive, it is far less than national TV.
But Speed knows that we need to keep mum about the fun we are having!

"Each of us must take part in making this a better world for all people."
This is a terrible lifestyle. Between the dangers on the road and the restless wandering from place to place without roots or stability, it wouldn't be morally correct to encourage others to join us.
It's the adult version of selling dope to school kids. It's bad enough we're afflicted, we shouldn't spread the disease to innocent people.
Fred, very cleverly stated. We don't want the campgrounds all filled up with "sickies." The word is spreading fast enough, this "disease" needs to be controlled....
Yep, who in their right mind would sell their house, give away all of their possessions and become homeless?
Then, they would have to wander around from Campground to Campground, and be forced to see deep canyons, mountains, rock formations, waterfalls, deserts, and rivers, along the way. Then, when they got to one ocean, they would be forced to go back all the way across the country until they came to the other ocean, where they would have to turn around again and find a different road to take back the other way. Along the way, they would also have to meet many new people, some of which would change their lives forever.
Some people may even be forced to go all of the way to Alaska or Mexico!
It's a lifestyle that i would only recommend to my friends!
Like Speedy says, "Don't tell anyone", or the word might get out!

We always get some real funny expressions from folks we are introduced to when they are told that we are homeless! It is a real hoot!!!!
Being homeless, I think we should qualify for government assistance! I think they should build RV parks for the homeless. Perhaps we could start a lobby!!!! '-)
