Hi Everyone. Well, after 15 years the RV-Dreams Community Forum is coming to an end. Since it began in August 2005, we've had 58 Million page views, 124,000 posts, and we've spent about $15,000 to keep this valuable resource for RVers free and open. But since we are now off the road and have settled down for the next chapter of our lives, we are taking the Forum down effective June 30, 2021. It has been a tough decision, but it is now time.
We want to thank all of our members for their participation and input over the years, and we want to especially thank those that have acted as Moderators for us during our amazing journey living and traveling in our RV and growing the RV-Dreams Family. We will be forever proud to have been founders of this Forum and to have been supported by such a wonderful community. Thank you all!!
Stop by my Blog, published every Sunday AM. Here is the Blog: http://mikepatstravels.blogspot.com/And here is the Travel Journal: http://woodalls.mytripjournal.com/mikepatstravels
Hi, I'm new to this forum but thought I'd jump in and post my blog site. I see I have some reading to do...a number of terrific blogs here! I've already bookmarked a few. We have been full timing just 1 month and we're loving it. Hope you enjoy my blog of our travels. Lori www.thetrailertales.com
Gee. I wonder where that topic came from? In reading Howard's Journal entry for June 1, I discovered that rodents can be a probelm in RVs as well as in a stick house. What do you full-timers do to keep out them critters? Living in a stick house I can testify that when one of those little buggers dies, it s...
Hi! Me and my hubby just bought a travel trailer yesterday! Brand spanking new! We have been waning one for the last year or so and with the housing going south with our economy we figured if would be cheaper and more to out "adventurous spirits"! Just wanted to drop in and say hi!
I've just joined the community and hope to learn a lot. I am a former backpacker, and hiked about 900 miles of the Appalachian Trail in one go. That was in 1997 and I developed bursitis and arthritis, so that put an end to backpacking. I think I learned to be a minimalist camper, resourceful, and flexi...
Over the years we have always thought of camping as a vacation but these days camping is the norm and we find ourselves getting out of the rig for one reason or another instead of camping. Recently we took a cruise as we have noticed others of you enjoy being pampered, overfed, and entertained for a fe...
We were full-timers for about 10 years from the mid eighties to the mid ninty's when we went back to 'real' jobs. Now are fully retired and are part timers. We have a 29 foot Dutch Star, 10 years old now. We travel with 2 adopted greyhounds. We have been members of escapees since the mid eighties.
Howard and Linda, Linda and I would like to thank you for all the hard work you put into the Rally, thus making it a huge success. We want you to know that your efforts are greatly appreciated. Thank You, Jim and Linda
Just found this forum mentioned on another. I'd like to say hello to all. We are part timers, former full-timers. In our other life we both worked (30 & 34 1/2 years) at a areo space plant in Connecticut. We started camping in 1998 in a tent, which did not last long and slowly but surely worked ou...
Just letting you know if you are in the Houston area there is a small club we usually go every other month no more then 150 miles. Here is our website http://www.gulfcoastrvclub.org/
We have finally started a travel journal......we are still in the process of moving out of the house and finishing up at work, but we should have more entries and pictures in July. We're going to start our fulltiming trip by heading up to Maine and possibly Nova Scotia. -Colleen http://colleenandpi...
I must have had one of those 'senior moments' and thought I had already posted my link in this thread. Probably didn't because I started it before actually fulltiming. We are fulltiming now as of March 2008 and having a great time! If you want to read along it's... Life In The Rolling Wolfeden Jan

First campground out fulltiming we headed for our favorite dry camp national forest campground. The forest is closed due to drought and the NF campground fees are up another 13%. So at $15 a day + $6 to dump + $7 a day for extra vehicles but you can't hike on the trails what should we do. Like many others...
I've been going over the forums and trying to get a feel for RV livingand Ive read posts about budgeting and such. I am a single, and a senior one at that, and it may ring a bell with some of you when I say that I really don't spend a lot on entertainment. If I become a serious RVer is this likely to change? I k...
I'm wondering if any of the RV-Dreams family bought a Clamptite tool from me at one of the RV shows in Pomona, at Quartsite (Main Event not Tent) or at one of the car shows in Southern California. Just wanted to know if you've used the tool and how has it helped in repairs. I haven't sold them for a while and p...
I have the A & E Electric awning with the wind sensor. The motor has already failed once and was replaced under warranty. It has failed again and my MH is going into the shop the last week of April for another motor. I rarely use the awning, the first motor failed after maybe 20-25 in-and-out cycles...
I don't want to go into too much detail, but I had an Identity Theft this week. It all started with a letter from a bank about opening an account that I did not open. It went down hill from that point. We have taken measures to put a stop to all credit applications. It was suggested by two agencies that eve...
Tomorrow I pick up my dream truck. Although this is really my interim dream truck. The real dream truck would be a brand new HDT to pull the 5th wheel with. Spotted a 2007 C4500 TopKick at a dealer in San Diego while my wife was shopping for beads and gemstones. Originally was going in to test drive a...
After reading a couple of recent posts regarding some of the antics seen in campgrounds by inconsiderate campers and after spending two nights at the local elementary school watching the 5th grade class play, I have to ask the question.... What has happened to manners? Each night during the play,...
we wanted to make the big anouncment before we hitched up this morning. We had sold our house last summer and moved into our fifthwheel where we lived as we continued to work at our jobs until yesterday. We retired and started our new careers as fulltime RVers on the road. We are ready to hitch up and h...
Since we officially started fulltiming yesterday, I thought we should come out of the woodwork and post our blog address. I started this blog in January as a way to keep in touch with all our kids and grandkids when we took an extended trip to Alabama, Florida and Georgia. And it is such a good way for us t...
Well the youngest of 7 children is graduating Saturday and we are finally going full time. Hopefully we will be out of here the week after Memorial Day. A few kinks in our plan which has been limited to some serious RVing for the last 4 years and retirement 2 years ago but we are getting out of the blocks....
We became members a little over a week ago (after 'lurking' for about 2 weeks), and posted in the 'Introduce yourself' forum (I don't even remember how I found this site ~ stroke of luck ) So our plan was to sell the house (will be on the market by eom) and use our proceeds to buy our 5vr, truck and invest t...
As we get closer to making our decision we have one big hurdle to cross and that is should we buy a front engine diesel or a diesel pusher? I would like to hear from some FRED owners. Do you miss the air suspension and air brakes? Would you buy another one? What is your MPG? Is the ****pit noisy? And you non-FR...
Hello, I am hoping to go full time in the next few years and have already started making plans to do so. I presently own a Keystone Raptor with 3 slides and just under 40 foot long. I have read everything I can find, and talked to "all that own" and I am more confused than ever about a truck. How...
We made the decision to go fulltime more than a year ago. We will have to downsize, no matter what, when we retire, and being fixed in place somewhere does not appeal to us... and we won't be able to afford both maintaining a stix-n-brix and travel too. Anyway, this past weekend we finally managed to nail...
