Hi Everyone. Well, after 15 years the RV-Dreams Community Forum is coming to an end. Since it began in August 2005, we've had 58 Million page views, 124,000 posts, and we've spent about $15,000 to keep this valuable resource for RVers free and open. But since we are now off the road and have settled down for the next chapter of our lives, we are taking the Forum down effective June 30, 2021. It has been a tough decision, but it is now time.

We want to thank all of our members for their participation and input over the years, and we want to especially thank those that have acted as Moderators for us during our amazing journey living and traveling in our RV and growing the RV-Dreams Family. We will be forever proud to have been founders of this Forum and to have been supported by such a wonderful community. Thank you all!!

RV Show in Cleveland, OH

Hey Team:  The DW and I will be going to the annual RV show in Cleveland next Saturday, featuring 15 dealers from across the upper chunk of Ohio, maybe some Michigan or Pennsylvania.  They claim that there will be over 800 units on display.  Anyone need any particular information that I can chase down?  I can carry questions to the alleged, supposed knowledge-experts for you.  Message me or add to this topic.

Ah memories.  smile

The January 2005 Cleveland RV Show was the first show we attended after making our decision to go full-time at Christmas 2004.

On the five-hour drive from Louisville in the snow, we made a pact that we were just looking and wouldn't buy anything.  We gave ourselves two days to go through the show and really take our time since we were pretty clueless about the RV thing.

We soon learned what we liked and didn't like and went through the show in about two hours.  We narrowed down our choices to four then two rigs.  After spending hours in those two rigs, we decided at dinner the first night to order one of them.  So much for the pact.  biggrin

Within two weeks of making our decision to full-time we ordered a new fifth wheel.  Two weeks later I gave notice at work.  Three months later, the house sold and we moved into the fifth wheel.  Three months after that, we were on the road.

Less than eight months from decision to doing it.  I can't help but smile as I'm typing this.  smile

Have a great time at the Cleveland RV Show, but be careful.  You might just be out here with us faster than you planned.  biggrin

Your right Howard...things can happen real fast and you look back and laugh. We have done the same thing...just going to look. That is what I told Sherri the other day that she could look...little did she know I was buying and now she is in her dream home. Yes all it takes is one RV show and your whole life can change! Ann and Steve good luck to you and maybe we will see you out on the road before long.

Canton!  Drive through every week.  Live in Stow, work in Conesville (Coshcoton county).  Seen that snow?  Saturday was a bust - Cleveland news recommended "don't drive" so we didn't.  Typing this Sunday morning and we're going to try to get there today.  The condo in Mentor is on the market (almost 3 months now) - a couple of nibbles but we don't expect to see any serious action until the spring thaw.  I work contract assignments and the current employer asked me to stay through early June so full-timing is now delayed until, at least, then.  I'm not retired and won't be anytime soon but short-term work is available all across the U.S..  The wife and I intend to take jobs all over the place and can't wait to get started.  But I can't buy the rig until the condo is sold.  Damnable cash flow!
