Hi Everyone. Well, after 15 years the RV-Dreams Community Forum is coming to an end. Since it began in August 2005, we've had 58 Million page views, 124,000 posts, and we've spent about $15,000 to keep this valuable resource for RVers free and open. But since we are now off the road and have settled down for the next chapter of our lives, we are taking the Forum down effective June 30, 2021. It has been a tough decision, but it is now time.
We want to thank all of our members for their participation and input over the years, and we want to especially thank those that have acted as Moderators for us during our amazing journey living and traveling in our RV and growing the RV-Dreams Family. We will be forever proud to have been founders of this Forum and to have been supported by such a wonderful community. Thank you all!!
I am getting ready to buy an Airstream trailer and I'm looking for some advice when it comes to traveling solo with a dog. I live in Florida where you cannot leave a dog in a hot car. I'm concerned that I can't even stop at a restaurant or grocery store on a long trip. I'm just curious how others have handl...
In order to embed a photo into a forum post, one needs to first have a photo hosting site on which to store the photos that one will use for forums. The hosting site is one that will need to have the ability to "copy and paste" an address at the hosting site that can then be posted within the body o...

If you have questions about RV'ing, there's a place to ask questions in real time in the chatroom. There's someone in chat in the evening hours and sometimes during the day. 8:30 to 11:30 eastern time. We talk about RV's and RV'ing along with other topics. Many are RV-Dream people that have met in pers...
Which cookie baking sheet are you using for your RV? I will measure my oven this weekend for dimensions but am curious what ones you like that fit in a toaster oven and your RV convection oven.Thank you for your input!
A question and potentially provocation for the experienced full-timers! How do you deal with the challenges of two (or more) people living in a couple hundred square feet when the weather outside is challenging? One wants to watch TV or play on the computer, the other wants a quiet read? Hobbies tak...
For all my RV Dreams friends that know me or have met me over the years at RV Dreams Rally's or on the road, my wife of 39 years passed away on March 5, 2016 after a short illness. I have found someone to enjoy the rest of my life with, (many at the 2017 Spring Rally met her), we are getting married this coming Sa...
What is your favorite strategy for securing a camping spot on holiday weekends when most campgrounds are reserved well in advance? Boondock in NF? Find first come fist serve spots and arrive early? Wal-Mart? What? -- Edited by Gpndavid on Friday 23rd of June 2017 09:46:23 PM
Making a transition from house to sailboat to house to full-time RV'er. Looking forward to learning much from the Seiverville, Tenn education seminars in September. Discouraged at crop of current new and used 5th wheels. Whether Grand Designs, DRV, Jayco, whatever, they all use the black pleath...
After spending around $7000 for dental work since last spring back home in Victoria, BC I decided to have my first visit to a Mexican dentist after having another tooth break. After much research I selected one of the three mentioned on the Wheelinit blog and chose www.dentalbernal.com. My crown cos...
Just a retired guy with a dog and cat, wants to tour the country visiting zoos and museums. Figure a few days to a week in each location. State parks, small clean campgrounds and open spaces probably preferred over the full entertainment KOA type places. Don't like the heat, will be North in the summ...
Hi! My husband and I are going to be fulltimers in 3 years. So, we are going to the Fall Rally to learn as much as we can. Also, to meet others who are like minded. We are chomping at the bit ready to go!
I saw some old posts (circa 2012) about these units. Does anyone out there have any updates on this Manufacturer / Model line? I am looking at this for a full time RV. Thanks.
Howard, First, thank you. What a wealth of information and wisdom on this board. Every day that I check in I learn something. One of the most valuable information sources I find is in the signature of contributors. Some identify their rig, and some have blogs that I can peruse. I would like to see a se...
I have a 2014 KZ Sportsmen Classic Travel Trailer and I am assuming that when plugged into an outlet this charges the 12v battery on my trailer? My question is this, does the battery get charged as well when the electrical plug is plugged into my truck and my truck is running? I was just wanting to know or r...
It's been a secret since September 2015, first between my husband and me, and then shared a little - under close cover - with the members of this forum. Finally, as of May 18, we've gone public: we are official full-time RVers who will be heading south later this year! All the seemingly crazy decisions w...
Hi, We just recently purchased a 2014 KZ Sportsmen Classic Travel Trailer. I didn't notice this when we picked it up but once I put into my warehouse to go through everything I noticed that after hooking it up to my truck with the electrical plugged in I was checking all the exterior lights. All of them wo...
Good morning every body. We are in our 50's and looking to start RVing. We are looking at 38-40 foot toy haulers. We are unsure as to buy new or used. I have heard to buy use so all the bugs are worked out, but I don't want an RV that is worn out and need alot of work. We have been looking at multiple manufacture...
You will find that there are many campground memberships and time share for sale. Many require that you attend a sales presentation where you are given the opportunity to sign on. You will later find that the sales price is much higher than you can find by buying from an existing member. The proble...
Lots of scary advice out there from truck and RV salespeople!!F350 will pull any 5th wheel. Worst case a F-450. Even a suggestion of a F-350 SRW. Must be what they have on the lot. So, will wait until we make the final decision on the RV, but either way it will be heavy. So need advice and guidance.5th whee...
I was looking at a topic about tire choices in the “Ask Howard” forum and several contributors mentioned the miles they had on their tires. That got me wondering how people track their travel miles on trailer RVs. Is it just log book tallies, or something more sophisticated like axle counters seen o...
We received the following email today, Feb 5, 2016:"Cascade Mountain Ranch Retreat & Conference Center here in southern Oregon invites RVers to join us as hosts at the ranch. Generally couples come, hook up, and host the many retreats, do light work, join the volunteers in caring for things, an...
I'm looking for a rack to fit the 2" receiver on the rear of my 5th wheel. I don't need to carry more than 2 bikes. Prefer a rack that will accommodate a man's and woman's bike. Several I've read about do not work well with frames that have a sloped top tube. Any input is going to be helpful. Thanks Eric
