Hi Everyone. Well, after 15 years the RV-Dreams Community Forum is coming to an end. Since it began in August 2005, we've had 58 Million page views, 124,000 posts, and we've spent about $15,000 to keep this valuable resource for RVers free and open. But since we are now off the road and have settled down for the next chapter of our lives, we are taking the Forum down effective June 30, 2021. It has been a tough decision, but it is now time.
We want to thank all of our members for their participation and input over the years, and we want to especially thank those that have acted as Moderators for us during our amazing journey living and traveling in our RV and growing the RV-Dreams Family. We will be forever proud to have been founders of this Forum and to have been supported by such a wonderful community. Thank you all!!
Due to Dale's art show schedule, we are always planning our travel routes 4-10 months in advance. We had been hearing from other full timers that SD was allowing driver license renewal by mail, however, this doesn't apply if you haven't been in the state within a year of your renewal date. Knowing th...
I am Robert and my wife kris will be hitting the road full time when I retire in 5 or 6 years. Looking forward to learning as much as possible until then. Counting on the road veterans for your experience and advice to expand out knowledge. We have always loved camping and the great outdoors. We currently...
I've never been a big fan of garage sales, so I had hoped to skip this step, but, it turned out to be a very necessary thing to do, even after lots of purging. So, had one, it was a spectacular success, along the lines of the one Howard recently wrote about. You do have to have friends/family to commit to h...
Just purchased a 2002 used Cameo by Carriage 5th wheel. (private sale) It's in good condition, just needs minor cosmetic work. I am familiar RVing but I been trying to find the owners manual for this RV. I have searched for hours online and cannot find any links that I would consider trustworthy. A...
5th Wheel Toy Hauler – DRV JX450 Full House vs. New Horizons custom (similar layout). Both 45’, 24,000 to 29,000 GVWR. Any thought and experiences in dealing with the companies, dealers [DRV] or living in the RVs? Thinking of using it as 10” long space for Quad-UTV [119" x 64" x 74", 1,500lb], Bikes, Do...
4 years ago today we drove away from our house for the last time and I’m so happy to report that this year is ending differently than the previous year. Year 3 ended with the news that my corporate work from home job was being eliminated. 3 months after my old job ended, I started a new job with a different...
Morning folks. We have been pulling trailers for a long time. First one I ever had was a Teton Park Model TT that I pulled all over the West when I was working construction. We have pulled everything from GN trailers, horse trailers, fifth wheels, and TT's. Not a newbie but I think there are a lot of new pro...
We are seriously interested in purchasing a Sleep Number mattress for our Landmark Key West. For those of you who have a Sleep Number bed, I'd like to know if special sheets are needed, or will standard sheets work? Also, we have two small shelves on each side of the bed that overlap the mattress. It see...
On our last trip the Direct TV system worked perfectly. It even worked in-motion as the DW watched something in the bedroom as I drove. The day after we got home we went out to clean up the coach and I turned on the TV to listen to the news. I got a picture but no sound. I can switch to over the air and the sound wo...
Howdy folks - Looking for your thought on smoke detector locations. In my FUZION 416, they factory installed one on ceiling in hall going to bath/bedrooms & another in the bedroom on the wall above the exit window. The reason I'm asking is I'm installing smoke detectors from SimpliSafe so that...
We just celebrated the completion of our fourth year of retirement. It is interesting to look back and see the changes in our style of travels during those 4 years. We began with a busy pace of moving every few days and covered 11,000 miles that first year. It was a blast and we loved every minute of our...

It takes forever to get cold and I have cleaned it and maintained it to make sure the Propane lights and the electric works for the fridge. I want to be able to start the fridge the day before and have the Fridge cold but i...

Hi All! I bought a Class B in February and have driven it around a little so far. Currently have it with a dealer getting some service done, then I hope to hit the road full time. I plan to first travel up the west coast, then who knows...!
We have looked on a variety of campground finding sites, and checked out some places via their web sites. But nothing like firsthand experience. We'd like to be relatively close to Cape Coral, as we are visiting family. Our basic requirements are pets allowed and Not a 55 and over place. Our motorhome...
We arrived at a casino campground that had descent reviews and full hook ups (needed after 6 days boondocking). I went inside to register and the lady said pick any open spot, set up, and come back in to let me know which one. Sites 4 and 5 were open so we set up on site 5 and discovered there was no water at an...
Hi all, I'm Joyce, my husband is Al. We spent 3 months at the beginning of the year on the road. We live full time in a relatively tiny rental home at $400 a month, so just paid rent and kept on going. We didn't have mail forwarded as we took care of everything (or so we thought) online. We did come home to a...
Well let's see if we can get some activity going.
We are currently in Massachusetts and have campgrounds booked up to Junction City KS.
Scheduled there on September 18.
We are also booked in Arizona for the winter.

Hi All! We are working on getting rid of stuff, but we are so tired all the time that it's hard to stay motivated. We both work, plus my mom passed away a few months ago, so now we have all of her stuff to take care of too. We're farming out what we can to our kids (who are scattered across the country) and have ma...
For the month of august. Beautiful area 35 miles from the great Smoky mountains. About an hour to Sevierville. Gatlinburg and pigeon forge. Close to Knoxville also.
We have 2 horses and some chickens. We can offer electric and water with a portable septic dump tank that goes in our septic system. Fre...
We are looking for a cooler temperature wise summer rv campground where we can kayak and hike. We'd like it not to be further than a 275 radius from Louisville, KY--preferably North or in the mountains. We've already spent weeks in the Great Smoky Mountains so looking for something new. Would like...
I have trying searching first but there appears to be nothing on the subject. I assume something isn't right. We have moved our RV and now need internet. Can anyone give us advice on what to look for. We live in our RV full time. We are stationary most of the year but plan to travel about 5 weeks out if the yea...
Wow, this forum has been getting quieter and quieter and quieter lately on posts/new topics etc. Just wondering if there's a way to encourage it's activity a bit more again? Out of curiosity what are some of the main topics you enjoy getting involved in that might jazz things up a bit if we can get some...
our brand new trailer has turned into a home for the local Mice. Now how do we get rid if them. They seem to laugh and enjoy the nice bed of drier sheet. Have used soon Cab but after a week that does not seem to chasing them away. Looks like they have just invited more friends. need a mice whisperer HELP PLE...
I've seen lots of threads about adjusting the freezer door but nothing that covers my issue the fridge door (lower) is ok. latches ok etc the freezer door (top) is tilted as in drooping down on the side away from hinges. not a lot, it still closes but not securely. I've looked at the hinge attachment p...
All of a sudden our Norcold Fridge started indicating low voltage. Upon inspection I couldn't hear the auxiliary cooling fans running but the right pipes were warm and there was a slight air flow out the top vent. Measured the DC voltage at the board and it ranged from 12.8 VDC down to 11.8 VDC which di...
The local Home Hardware flyer came today - the glossy colour one that shows page after page of yard tools, gardening supplies, patio stain, exterior paint, and grass seed and maintenance items. That was just the first half; the rest was full of household renovation supplies, multitudinous kitchen...
Today our daughter and son-in-law mentioned the idea of possibly being full-timers for 6-12 months. They are very early in the process, so they have lots of questions and few answers yet. One idea that was tossed out was leasing a truck or car for this time. The car they really want is not towable four-d...
I admit to being a little bit of a gadget freak. I like the very best in folding knives, camping stoves, multi-tools, all that stuff. I grew up with the MagLite flashlights, and the plug in "one-mile" beam spotters and the "tactical" flashlights, but this one seems to fit the bill for overall best fla...
