Hi Everyone. Well, after 15 years the RV-Dreams Community Forum is coming to an end. Since it began in August 2005, we've had 58 Million page views, 124,000 posts, and we've spent about $15,000 to keep this valuable resource for RVers free and open. But since we are now off the road and have settled down for the next chapter of our lives, we are taking the Forum down effective June 30, 2021. It has been a tough decision, but it is now time.

We want to thank all of our members for their participation and input over the years, and we want to especially thank those that have acted as Moderators for us during our amazing journey living and traveling in our RV and growing the RV-Dreams Family. We will be forever proud to have been founders of this Forum and to have been supported by such a wonderful community. Thank you all!!

All around Newbie Wanderluster

Hi I'm Kiersten.  I'm an almost 7 year divorcee with four adult kids.  I adopted a rescue puppy this year in March, turned 50 in June, took my youngest to college in August and bought a 24 foot Class C motor home the same week.  I'm an accountant with an established virtual bookkeeping/Outsource Controller business which allows me to work anywhere with an internet connection.  My home base is on Lookout Mountain near Chattanooga TN with my boyfriend.  We are hang gliding pilots.  He also has a real job and is rarely able to travel with me but supports me fulfilling my life long wanderlust dreams.  I've taken a few short trips so far to become accustom with my RV and RV life.  I'm about to begin traveling at least half time with plans of taking some 2-3 month long trips.  Although I'm an adventurer, I have a little anxiety about the usual things...mostly loneliness.  I'm really looking forward to connecting with fellow wanderlusters and making new friends.

Hi Kiersten,

I think it's great that you are traveling alone and you boyfriend is cool with that. My husband and I went on the road after raising 3 kids and after the last one went into the Air Force we went out on the road. We may be different, but I will share that after 25 years of raising kids and all the noise and personality that went along with that, I really enjoyed the solitude and quiet :) That being said, the RV lifestyle is a varied one and if you really yearn for social interaction, RVers are some of the friendliest folks out there. Generally, you don't ever have to be alone unless you want to as campgrounds are very social places. Now in all fairness I have a travel partner in my husband, but for me there is nothing quite like being surronded by nature and the blessed peacefulness that comes along with it.

Good luck to you and I hope you have a wonderful time.

Trace

Thank you Trace.  I'm sure I will quickly discover you're exactly right.  My minimal experience has already shown me how friendly and accepting fellow travelers are and look forward to connecting with many along the way.  ; )
