Hi Everyone. Well, after 15 years the RV-Dreams Community Forum is coming to an end. Since it began in August 2005, we've had 58 Million page views, 124,000 posts, and we've spent about $15,000 to keep this valuable resource for RVers free and open. But since we are now off the road and have settled down for the next chapter of our lives, we are taking the Forum down effective June 30, 2021. It has been a tough decision, but it is now time.
We want to thank all of our members for their participation and input over the years, and we want to especially thank those that have acted as Moderators for us during our amazing journey living and traveling in our RV and growing the RV-Dreams Family. We will be forever proud to have been founders of this Forum and to have been supported by such a wonderful community. Thank you all!!
I am looking for your opinions on wintering in RV parks around Phoenix area that accommodate big rigs and spaces aren't squished together. I plan for 6 month stays, November to April. I want to stay within the warmth of Gila River valley, so a 50-60 mile radius? Would be nice if the park had a lot of ac...

We had a great time this afternoon sharing recipes at the Instant Pot Demonstration that Linda organized. Please share your recipes here so that we can all make them again. This organization has a great bunch of cooks.

35 years ago my wife and I was on our honeymoon in the Yellowstone area. While there we talked with some folks that were spending the summer voluntering in the park while living in their RV. My wife and I thought that would definitely be something we would like to do and have kept it in the back of our mind...
When I had morRyde install my 8K IS suspension, I also replaced the wheels and tires (going with Goodyear G114 H rated tires and the required hi spec 17.5" aluminum wheels). My OEM axles were 7K ... I chose not to replace the spare as it was a new Goodyear G614 on a 16" wheel ... this is because the IS allows...
Just curious how many of you tow with an HDT or class 8 tractor? We recently made the switch to a 2005 Freightliner Century after tiring of being at 100% capacity with our RAM 3500 dually, what a difference in control, comfort and stopping ability.
Just a heads up for the Walmart located in Bakersfield, CA on Rosedale Hwy. We've enjoyed our overnight stays here several times before and as usual asked for parking permission first at customer service. Getting the okay we got settled in then walked over to a restaurant for dinner and drinks. On our...
Greetings RV-Dream'ers! Looking forward to starting an RV adventure in Fall 2019 with my family of 5 (me, wife and 3 kids). We plan to go for one or more years and travel all around North America to see the sights. Since we don't have an RV or TV we will be starting fresh. I have very limited experience towi...
In our search for a 5th wheel there are questions I would like to ask those with experience. We have been looking at toy hauler 5th wheels because they meet the needs of how we plan to travel. We were in the market for a Class A diesel until we saw a toy hauler 5th wheel at an RV show this spring. It was a Gran...

My wife and i are looking at fifth-wheels for full-time use. We're wondering if there is a best time of the year to purchase. Example: Do they make better deals in the fall after summer is done, then not as good in spring before summer? Once we settle on which one we want it would be nice to know if timin...
While looking at 5th wheel toy haulers one of the salesmen indicated the manufactures may not honor warranties for "full time" RV users. When I asked him what the definition of a "full timer" was, he couldn't answer the question. I even asked one of the manufacturers representatives and he couldn'...
Just wanted to say Bill and I had a great week at the Boondock Rally! It was wonderful seeing old friends and making new ones - and getting a few tips at the same time! We appreciate all you do for the RV community!
I've returned, some of you MAY remember me. I was active on here back in 2009-2011 when my wife and I had decided to leave the rat-race and start planning to full-time RV work/travel. We thought we had it figured out and how we could make it work. The downward spiraling economy had other things in stor...
We have a workcamping job lined up in Colorado for next summer. We don't have an RV yet but our plan is to come home after that job for one more winter, so now we are thinking of waiting to buy the RV to save on storage costs. We were thinking another option would be to rent something for approximately 4 mon...
I am currently planning a trip with my family which includes my wife and two kids in coming months in Texas. As I’ve never experienced RV Camping Before so if anyone knows some good RV Parks around Texas which are not very expensive but still comfortable? Any tips on how to trace these RV Parks. Any sug...
My wife and I has started RVing this summer for the first time with plans of going full time in about 1 year. Most of the RV parks that we have stayed in are like Disney world more for kids and families. When we choose a park to stay at we pick the area and then read reviews and book from there. So far most of t...
Can anyone help me to figure out the secret to getting a 2 week reservation using Reserve America for any of the state parks in the Keys? I'm trying to reserve for next winter and every time I go on to say Bahia Honda it shows that I am outside the reservation window and everything inside is reserved. How ar...
Hi all, We have been looking and researching Class A motorhomes for almost 2 years now. Finally we are going to start looking at rv's that we might actually buy. What should we expect from a private seller? Should we have our lawyer draw up a simple contract? Is it reasonable to have a local mechanic insp...
As a potential purchaser of a 5th Wheel and an appropriate pickup (TV) to tow it, I have the following question. A lot of posts say to buy the 5th wheel first then match the TV to it, ensuring that all relevant load factors are covered – GVWR, GCGVWR, RAWR, etc, etc. I have no issues with that logic. Othe...
Hi everyone. I have another question. Yes, another one. I never said I wasn't a moron. Have any of you done a fair amount of interior mods in your rigs? I'll be setting up the coach for three cats and the two human slaves. I have done a lot of looking at classified ad pictures and every time I see one of those b...
I'd really like to replace our Jeep Liberty with a full-size four door sedan. The problem is that most everything I've looked at seems to be designed to be as close to the ground as possible. I'm tired of cars that bang my head as I'm falling into them and require a crane to pull me back out again. One person...
We are soon picking up our fifth wheel and I had pretty much decided on Coach-Net for roadside assistance when I came across Escapees Roadside Assistance. Is that fairly new? I haven't found any reviews for it...anyone have any experience with them? $99 for Escapees and $179 for Coach-Net and I kn...
