Hi Everyone. Well, after 15 years the RV-Dreams Community Forum is coming to an end. Since it began in August 2005, we've had 58 Million page views, 124,000 posts, and we've spent about $15,000 to keep this valuable resource for RVers free and open. But since we are now off the road and have settled down for the next chapter of our lives, we are taking the Forum down effective June 30, 2021. It has been a tough decision, but it is now time.

We want to thank all of our members for their participation and input over the years, and we want to especially thank those that have acted as Moderators for us during our amazing journey living and traveling in our RV and growing the RV-Dreams Family. We will be forever proud to have been founders of this Forum and to have been supported by such a wonderful community. Thank you all!!

ok universe,we get it--you have a great sense of humor

i'm going to laugh, because if i start to cry i may not stop for a while!

here's where we're at--

house should close june 21st. my tenants are moving down the street on june 15th and have purchased our bed, table and chairs and dresser set so that's a leaving next saturday and we're moving to camp.

but we don't know yet if buyers financing is secured and we had a major sale here yesterday. had to because it was the only available date and we sold almost everything.

the cleaning team comes tomorrow to finish up.

meanwhile dh has chemo tomorrow and tuesday as we knew, but also on tuesday i have to have surgery (not quite an emergency but needs to be done asap--can't even wait a few weeks at this point) which will put me totally out of commission for a month or more.

am holding my breath to see if i'm going to need chemo or radiation, won't know until these damn lumps are gone. they're growing fast and are tender so no waiting around--i have a history of a rare cancer in the same area of my head so here we go again.

so dh will have to finish moving, cleaning and get me and the cats (3) moved to camp mostly by himself--we have friends we can maybe hire if their work schedule permits.

the camper is 24x8 and until we close on our home and i recover enough to shop, that's what we'll all be living in for a while.

a friend is taking the dog for a week, maybe more.

if the house sale falls apart we'll have a big empty house and will need to buy furniture again!

Hang in there. No need to buy furniture again... The house will sell, if not this time, the next go round and you will be all set!

Putting on my realtor hat...It depends on the reason for the financing not being secure. I can tell you from experience the past few years, the lender will never say everything is good to go until they actually wire the funds! Crazy but true. Buying and selling a home has turned into one of the most stressful life experiences thanks to the lending environment today!

You will be fine in the 24x8 camper. We lived in a 21x8 bumper pull with no slides last year and we did okay. Not my first choice but we did okay and you will too.

Like I said, hang in there! You are almost there!

Where are you located? Maybe some of us can pitch in?

One day at a time. Prayers for your health and you need to be calm as being stressed is not good for you! You will be amazed at what your husband is capable of!!! And your friends will pitch in when you least expect it. I had to learn not to say no when people offered their assistance. Keeping you in my prayers! Pieere

Susan,

Wow, you have a lot on your plates right now to say nothing of your minds. It will all work out do try and stay calm (says she who didn't sleep at all night before last!). You will come thru it and please do as Pieere said and let friends help. If you're still in Vermont folks there are wonderful.

We will be holding you both in our hearts. When you can, please keep us up to date!

I can't really add much advice, others have already given you some great advice. You're in our thoughts and prayers, wishing we were closer so we could lend a hand.

hey i'm back--house free!
the closing went well, buyers were sobbing with gratitude, which was very sweet.
the day before the closing we found a 2002 carriage cameo which is in pristine condition and bought her, so far she is a delight to live in.
we're drying out in the air conditioned comfort and doing laundry daily if not hourly, lol.
still on the agenda is get all three vehicles sold and buy one bigger tow vehicle for ourselves.
we stay at camp until the end of september and then we hit the road for adventures and visiting.
by then we'll both be finished with our assortment of medical issues and raring to go i think!
thank you for the cheering, it helped immensely.

Congratulation's, glad everything worked out, sounds like you are on the way.

Selling vehicles is much less stressful that selling houses, not to say selling vehicles can be a pain but sure not like selling a house.

Congrats! We have a 2010 Cameo and love it. We're on our fourth year fulltime and still don't have all the states visited. It will be great following you. Welcome to a wonderful lifestyle.
