Hi Everyone. Well, after 15 years the RV-Dreams Community Forum is coming to an end. Since it began in August 2005, we've had 58 Million page views, 124,000 posts, and we've spent about $15,000 to keep this valuable resource for RVers free and open. But since we are now off the road and have settled down for the next chapter of our lives, we are taking the Forum down effective June 30, 2021. It has been a tough decision, but it is now time.
We want to thank all of our members for their participation and input over the years, and we want to especially thank those that have acted as Moderators for us during our amazing journey living and traveling in our RV and growing the RV-Dreams Family. We will be forever proud to have been founders of this Forum and to have been supported by such a wonderful community. Thank you all!!
Our family of 5 is planning on seeing the US for 1 year. We need to find a way to travel. We're leaning toward a Diesel pusher with budget under 35K. Is this reasonable? I'm looking at a '96 Holiday Rambler with a Cummins engine. Appreciate any/all advice. What to look out for? Thanks
I'm looking to purchase an RV as soon as I close on my house (within the month), and I have been looking at a Thor Majestic 28A (I definitely want a class c). It's a "reconditioned model" for 23K (29'), and I love the layout. Anyone have any experience with this model? And what about buying from...
Did anybody use an Estate Sale Company? Our Realtor came yesterday and when we asked about the stuff she said many people were happy with them. They set everything up and priced your items, of course for a fee. I was thinking if things were priced right we would realize more gain with less stuff at the...
We are currently looking at Class A's and bus conversions and I am noticing that very few of either have traditional ovens in the kitchen. Why? Is it a space issue? I am a cook and love to get in the kitchen ( I have 3 ovens in my home kitchen) Do you folks out there miss having a oven or do you carry a good toaste...
Hi everyone! I stumbled upon Howard's blog one night a couple of weeks ago and was sooooo inspired! It really gave us so much encouragement to think more seriously about fulltiming! From what I have read, this forum sounds like a wonderful community of caring and sharing folks so we are looking for...
Why does this happen to us on a Friday evening or Sunday afternoon? We were slightly diverted on our way to Tulare, CA to our next stop. Stopped right before a country road stop sigh and truck towing had no power. no warning lights on. He suspects bad fuel from the auxiliary tank. CoachNet says will take a...
Has anyone else experienced some of their sliders partially opening...about an inch during travel? We have a 2009 Montana with 4 slides and the first two sliders to open are the bedroom and kitchen...they have both started doing this. Also prior to this happening, the last two times we have gone to p...
I am getting 15-20 notes in my e-mail in basket daily, heading No Reply. I would like to cut that down. How do I unsubscribe to the forums? Thanks for your assistance. I appreciate getting any notices about educational camp outs. Judy Thomas

We're starting to look for a newer class A DP and was wondering if anyone has used a broker or has any experience in that area? We're also scouring the various websites, ebay, etc. but just curious about the broker option? If you have used, any recommendations?
We are meeting with salesman today. We have been in contact with him since April and are ready to buy. We will be living in the 5th Wheel full time. The RV is made for full timing and they offer full time insurance. Does mentioning you are going to live in it affect financing or do we not mention this and sa...
Recently widowed, I’m a full-timer. Not owned by a house after 40 years of it. I’m Very retired after 45 years of industrial mechanical technologies. My wife and I are hoping to start hitting the road 6 to 8 months per year when I retire at the end of the year, one of our main concerns is campground fees, 40+ dollars a night can really add up. Can any of the full-timers suggest the best way to address this issue, are there good clubs to join or memberships t...
If you were considering a class A between a 1995 and 2000 what brands would you look at for quality? Any you would not consider at all? My thinking is that we would rather buy an older high end unit rather than a newer lower end unit. Any thoughts on that?

What is the best 50% off club. Passport America or Happy camper club. They sound the same to me. Do they use the same parks or not. What do you think. Going full time soon. I now have Thousand Trails, Coast to Coast, RPI and Escapees RV Club. Like to here from you. jt
I really can't give up having a sewing machine and the one I have weighs a ton, at least. I do have one of the very cheap little ones by Singer but it is less than impressive. I want something smaller, lightweight and it doesn't need to do that much but it needs to do a decent job when stitching so no one woul...
We are Gene and Eileen from Northern VA and we are planning on retiring in the spring of 2014. We have spent the last year or more going to RV shows and dealers. They are all starting to look alike. Does anybody have DirecTV and use the AM21 tuner to get local network stations? We currently have Distant Network Service but only get either the NY or LA channels. According to the AM21 manual you hook it up to your DirecTV box and then it gives you the local NBC/ABC/CBS network affiliates. What I'm lo...
Well folks it has been a long time in planning but I finally got the solar panel system completed this past weekend. First, my thanks must go out to John Kohl, Joe (Jolu), John (7.3Ford) of the Montana Owners Forum and Jack Mayer for allowing me to pick their brains and provide guidance thru observation...

Why go thru the hassle of boondocking when perfectly good campgrounds are around? Why not take the paved road to the leveled spot, plug in and enjoy all of the goodies like showers, bathrooms, etc? We enjoy the seclusion up in the boonies. I wake up on top of a hill or ridge with a 360 degree view of two or th...
