Hi Everyone. Well, after 15 years the RV-Dreams Community Forum is coming to an end. Since it began in August 2005, we've had 58 Million page views, 124,000 posts, and we've spent about $15,000 to keep this valuable resource for RVers free and open. But since we are now off the road and have settled down for the next chapter of our lives, we are taking the Forum down effective June 30, 2021. It has been a tough decision, but it is now time.
We want to thank all of our members for their participation and input over the years, and we want to especially thank those that have acted as Moderators for us during our amazing journey living and traveling in our RV and growing the RV-Dreams Family. We will be forever proud to have been founders of this Forum and to have been supported by such a wonderful community. Thank you all!!
We are hoping to go full time, but once our house sells we will only have 25K to work with. Is it possible to find an RV for full time living for that price? Obviously used, and we want a motorhome. Suggestions welcome! Thanks.
I don't want to be thinking too much about the end game before the journey begins, but have a couple of questions for those who have taken the leap or have a plan: 1) If you didn't need the proceeds from selling your house to purchase or fuel the dream (mh,truck, etc.), would you keep your house for resid...
This has been a struggle...we want to travel to visit all the parks and camp in them, but want enough room to full-time, if we decide to. Is there any advice that you can give on this ?Thanks in advance!T4TR-- Edited by two 4 the road on Sunday 20th of October 2013 08:08:40 PM-- Edited by two 4 the road on T...
We recently had a reader chat us up and ask if we had any resources showing how various RVers had set up workspaces for their offices. What a great idea! So, we've started a new series profiling mobile office spaces. New profiles are being added all the time, check it out: http://www.technomadia.com...
I always thought the F-450 just had a little more suspension thus carrying capacity. I have a F-350 DRW and have added air bags to the rear axle to help with carrying the Lance truck camper. My real question is if we decide to upgrade to a nicer/heavier 5th wheel ie. Mobile Suites, would I need to buy a ne...
Okay Newbie here, We are planning to start full timing next year and can not go imagine leaving the cats behind. How do people with kitties handle them not getting out of the RV and disappearing? I will be broken hearted if we lost one of the our legged family members. We where thinking of having any...
Hi Ok I know absolutely nothing about rv tires, tires, chemistry, oxygen, nitrogen but I thought this was interesting so I thought I would throw it out to see if anyone else heard of this. When we were at the Tampa RV show there was a motorhome there on display called a Green RV. I was asking him several q...
We're in an older (1999) MH on a Ford F53 chassis. When we level we use one of those little square bubble levels. We use the fridge floor coz the freezer floor isn't flat (side by side fridge freezer). The two rear jacks can be lowered independently, the front two, only as a pair. Currently we're on a concr...
Hi, I was outside today and saw my old class c motorhome and it occurred to me that I might get some salvage use out of it. I use it as a guest house now[everything works] but it was a top of the line with full winter package in its day. I saw it had the maxi vent covers on it so I took those off and will be putting i...
Hi all,I am 31 and going through a bit of a life-crisis.I have a good job that I’ve been in since college graduation ten years ago.I love to travel and really want to be free of the constraints of traditional living/working and being beholden to a boss.Job security is an illusion to me....
When we made the decision to full-time we had 27 months before we would be free to go. It is now 20 months and feels like time is going backwards. It's like the time between birthdays when you're 7. I want it to be like the time between birthdays when you're 56!Patience is not my strong suit. Bill is mu...
We had heard about this park from friends and we love it. The spaces are very long, each separated by split rail fences often hedges and well trimmed trees, many beautiful sycamore and other trees, a great walking trail along Clear Creek, immaculate laundry and bathrooms, immaculate sites, raked ev...
Hey everyone! This is Marta from Montague Bikes. As some of you may know, we make a line of full size folding bicycles. They're very popular among RV owners, so we wanted to get involved in your community here. Do you keep a bike or folding bike on your RV now? What would you be looking for in a bike to keep on...
I wonder if these have more room? They look to feel like there are more "rooms" anyway...more house-like? Does anyone own one of these and do you wish you had the picture window view out the back from the living area?
Hi, I am new to the forum and after seeing some of the beautiful "rigs" out there I have a few questions. I have a small 24' class "c", it is clean looking [most times] but I on the other hand might possibly scare the pants off of some of you . I am a wildlife photographer and a female, I...

I'll be a working entrepreneur while living and working from my RV, so the first thing I'm looking for as I peruse various floorplans (leaning towards 5th wheels) is desk/computer working space. Was this important to any of you and how have you satisfied the need in your RV?
Hello In the latest round of looking at all the rv options for us. We have been told by an RV dealer that we HAD to by an RV with a 4 seasons package on it (or depending on brand their residential RV's with the extra insulation and everything) because the fifth wheels that are done this way are Better for 24 l...
Im a newbie here and thought I would pose this question for any helpful input. (see picture) If one was to build their own trailer what would be the best structure to make it out of.... (A) the basic rv trailer fiberglass wall or one with (B) an aluminum wall that one might see as a utility trailer. What a...
Hello, Alrighty, heard about the new dodge with the 30,000 pound tow capacity. So went to ramtrucks.com. to look. Can someone explain to me why a Dually would have less tow capacity than a single rear set. I would think the weight would be better distributed on duallies. Also if we wanted a quad o...
Hasn't affected me; but I drove down to the Cedars of Lebanon State Park today and their open with a "No Vacancy" sign. A few of the overnighters in the park I'm at say; the COE's and Federal lands are closed to the citizens. There is about 7 overnight spaces here and they are full this evening...
I have read some threads online that discuss the salt air from the oceans causing the fifth wheels to rust....especially in the underbelly area. What are your thoughts on this?-- Edited by two 4 the road on Monday 21st of October 2013 08:21:16 PM-- Edited by two 4 the road on Wednesday 23rd of October 2...
After spending the whole part of the hot year fighting to stay under 20 amps in the day time I had basically given up to the fact that in hot months with everybody using the air-conditioners the electrical poles would always be hotter than normal making it easier for the 30AMP breaker to trip. Well two we...
I just saw the LTV FreeSpirit and I am in love with it. I am looking to retire go full time summer of 2015. I am quite comfortable with downsizing big time, but I want to be realistic. Is there anyone out there fulltiming in a FreeSpirit SS that would share their experiences? Thanks, Jill
So yesterday we are eating lunch outside and notice the water sputtering from the hot water heater along with dirt? red rusty looking. It stopped, we did dishes, washed a load of laundry and showered. All seemed fine, until I took a shower this morning and there was only half the hot water and the water h...
Hi all! I saw this steal of a deal (half-price) on a 2010 Heartland Big Country that is at a dealer 6 hours away. They sent these pics to show the condition, and as newbies, we do not know exactly what would have caused these issues and whether they are fixable. So, we would appreciate some immediate hel...
We've been full time for a week now and are enjoying the campground life along with the squirrels and birds. Which made we wonder...do we need to protect our camper from these critters? I was thinking the slide awning covers would be nice hiding places. What else should we beware of and prepare for? mic...
Hello All.. My wife Lynn and I are working toward full timer status. We go about 5 times a year on week or long weekend trips. We went from a 26 ft bumper pull 4 years ago to a 39 ft 5th wheel this year. Lynn just took a job so we can pay down our bills faster, I will be able to keep working on the road (IT job). So I am...
Hi there - I just now joined.!! My dream is to purge all my belongings, and climb into an RV and go visit friends and relatives that I have neglected while taking care of my elders.
