Hi Everyone. Well, after 15 years the RV-Dreams Community Forum is coming to an end. Since it began in August 2005, we've had 58 Million page views, 124,000 posts, and we've spent about $15,000 to keep this valuable resource for RVers free and open. But since we are now off the road and have settled down for the next chapter of our lives, we are taking the Forum down effective June 30, 2021. It has been a tough decision, but it is now time.

We want to thank all of our members for their participation and input over the years, and we want to especially thank those that have acted as Moderators for us during our amazing journey living and traveling in our RV and growing the RV-Dreams Family. We will be forever proud to have been founders of this Forum and to have been supported by such a wonderful community. Thank you all!!

Getting ready to full time it

Hello all,

My wife and I just bought a used 1990 36 foot Airex and are working on getting it remodeled by the end of November.  She is retired and I will retire at the end of February.  We have to be out of our house by the end of November but have several places to park until March when we are hitting the road.  Our Airex is in great mechanical condition with only 48,000 miles with new tires and brakes.  I have been working on my own vehicles for over forty years, so I am not too concerned with mechanical issues, but have little knowledge of how rv electrical, water and waste systems work, so we are hard at work researching these things.  We are currently hooked up to power from our garage and have also run the generator when not hooked up.  I do not understand how the inverter system works though.  There is much to learn, but we have always been the adventurous types, so there is no fear of what may or may not happen down the road.  I am glad that we found this forum and have learned a few things while lurking.  Hope to meet many more like minded people on our journeys.

Thank you.  I learned a lot from those two links and have saved them for future reference.  Our rv does not have an inverter, but I was able to use the formulas to determine our power needs, what to purchase and how to install it.  I knew joining this forum would be worthwhile.
