Hi Everyone. Well, after 15 years the RV-Dreams Community Forum is coming to an end. Since it began in August 2005, we've had 58 Million page views, 124,000 posts, and we've spent about $15,000 to keep this valuable resource for RVers free and open. But since we are now off the road and have settled down for the next chapter of our lives, we are taking the Forum down effective June 30, 2021. It has been a tough decision, but it is now time.
We want to thank all of our members for their participation and input over the years, and we want to especially thank those that have acted as Moderators for us during our amazing journey living and traveling in our RV and growing the RV-Dreams Family. We will be forever proud to have been founders of this Forum and to have been supported by such a wonderful community. Thank you all!!
We have decided to go fulltime, hopefully in the next 6 months. We like the idea of having a second vehicle but trying to decide which one to keep, we have a 2006 Ford Explorer with about 65,000 miles on it which we could probably sell for around $12,000. The other vehicle is a 1997 Jeep Wrangler with 153,...

Being in KS, I'm really glad to be in a S/B right now. Today it got up to 38 degrees and I made ice cream because of the heat wave! My brother is in MI living out in the county and he said the roads were plowed but anyone going out was getting a ticket! We were at Wal-Mart today and they had several shoppers in...

Please, I really could use any and all ideas since my "RV Dream" is rapidly turning into an RV nightmare. On Christmas Eve our toilet clogged. While we braved the crowds at Walmart to purchase a snake, the problem resolved itself. A few days later, it recurred. We called an RV mobile ser...
My wife and I are still about a year away from getting that DREAM RV, and another year before going FT (or close to it). There are only a couple of websites that we have found really useful, and this website and community is the best. I just finished reading the pro-blog (events leading to your actual &q...
We bought a used 2011 Keystone Fuzion 398 5th wheel coach this summer from PPL in Houston. A couple weeks later, I found out there were some electrical recalls that we needed to get taken care of. One was for the transfer switch. When the service tech ordered the parts, he went to the coach to remove the o...
I've only been on this list for a short while, and I've already learned a great deal more than I thought I knew. Since asking stupid questions is usually the best way to get intelligent answers, I have another one: Thinking out loud about all of the possibilities, responsibilities, and liabilities in...
I'm still in research mode into making a purchase and I'm curious to know if there are any issues to be aware of in regards to the differences between a motorhome versus a trailer/fiftwheel. I've read that not all RV's are actually insurable when it comes to fulltiming and living out of them. I hope I'm e...
Hello... We've been dreaming about selling our home for several years and traveling 6 months of the year. We're finally doing it! In March we'll put our home on the market and start our travels in June. First up will be an extended South West trip...Wyoming, Montana, Utah, etc. We've been resear...
We are in Q for Christmas and noticed a 2 hour period of time today when even with our antenna to boost the signal, our connectivity, data and cell, were both horrible. We're thinking it might have been due to the fact that everyone was calling Mom, Dad, kids, Grandmas, etc. I'm thinking this could also...
I'm looking into purchasing a large fifth wheel; something around 43' and was thinking that I might not want to trailer it myself. The cost and maintenance of a large truck and the hassles of driving it when I get older don't seem to be worth it. I was considering having the rig professionally moved the f...
Merry Christmas!!!I have been looking at fifth wheels and came across this custom rv company and was wondering if anyone has had one done by them and what were your thoughtshttp://www.travelunits.com/I am going to the Tampa RV show next month and will be looking at as much as possible. It is hard t...
We have been vacillating between purchasing a motor home or a 5th wheel. Since our current 1999 F350 dually does not have the towing capacity to pull a quality DRV (Mobile Suites), we would need to replace it with a newer model F450. The cost of a newer truck and fifth wheel approaches the cost of a qual...
We have a Winegard amplified distribution center that no longer works and need a replacement. When I search the net for a replacement, model VS-0604/6412, I do not find any available. In fact, I find very little.Has anyone replaced theirs? What brand and model did you use? Thanks! -- Edited by c...
This past weekend, Bill and I were discussing whether or not we should sell my CRV when we hit the road later this year. For the benefit of those who do not know our rig set-up, we have a 2011 Ford F350 Diesel Dually 4x4, which will tow our 2014 Landmark. I was not even going to question this at all, except I...
We're almost 6 months into FT RV'ing, thinking sometime in 2014 it might be nice to plan a vacation to the Caribbean or somewhere. We are both still working full - time so while we've had a couple of vacation weeks and a couple of long weekends since becoming FT'ers and find time to explore local museu...
Hi to all...I've been reading the great posts here for a while. My wife and I are hoping to start full timing this summer. It's a bit overwhelming at times but the info I've found here has been so helpful. We've been campers for many years and decided that full timimg and seeing the country is what we want t...
Well looking out my office window at the 2 feet of snow and below windchill, I have started our full timing countdown list. Anything that comes to mind or tips I see on the forums are jotted down for our planned Jan 1 2015 departure to our next life chapter. We have been sorting and reducing our lifetime c...
We're interested in working for the Corps of Engineers as gatekeepers, maintenance or whatever. Since we would get paid in addition to our site, we have to register as contractors on the SAM (System for Award Management). Has anyone done this? This is a new system for the COE, but the form appears to re...
With all the choices available and the numerous rigs on the market, I'm wondering if it would be advisable to seek out an RV broker to do the searching for us? I'd like to be able to them our requirements and have them find a rig(s) for us. Id like to hear from those of your that have used a broker and whethe...
I found a 2013 coachmen miranda 32 ft for sale. I don't know anything about Coachmen. Is this a good company? How many people in the motorhome. 2 people 1 yorkshire terrier We are starting out part time then fulltime in a few years. Is Coachmen a mistake?
I guess to start, I'd better describe my plans to let everyone know the purpose and planned use of the truck topper I'm proposing. I plan on full-timing in a few years using my recently purchased 2008 F-250 super-cab long-bed 6.4. I will be towing a yet unpurchased travel trailer, for snowbird use, win...
