Hi Everyone. Well, after 15 years the RV-Dreams Community Forum is coming to an end. Since it began in August 2005, we've had 58 Million page views, 124,000 posts, and we've spent about $15,000 to keep this valuable resource for RVers free and open. But since we are now off the road and have settled down for the next chapter of our lives, we are taking the Forum down effective June 30, 2021. It has been a tough decision, but it is now time.

We want to thank all of our members for their participation and input over the years, and we want to especially thank those that have acted as Moderators for us during our amazing journey living and traveling in our RV and growing the RV-Dreams Family. We will be forever proud to have been founders of this Forum and to have been supported by such a wonderful community. Thank you all!!

BISMARCK, ND

I know I asked in a previous thread about MINOT, ND.

Now I ask about BISMARK, ND. Have any of you been there for stays and excursions with an RV? I was looking and seems like the KOA is decent. I want to go this weekend for four nights. I am going to pull the car on the dolly so we have something to tool around in.

Looking for any input.

Thanks.

RE: BISMARK, ND

We were told the KOA has lousy water from a well. But we have not stayed, so who knows?  We have stayed at A Prairie Breeze in Menoken twice, http://rvparkreviews.com/regions/North_Dakota/Menoken.html.  It was close enough to town to enjoy it and on city water.  Lots of US history in the area, the Fort in Mandan that General Custer came from, Native village, Lewis and Clark.  I am not sure what a Canadian would find, but it was a nice city on the river.

We stayed at the Bismark KOA about a year ago on our way to Medora. It is a decent campground. The spaces are a little close but the owners were friendly and it was kept up. There is a nice zoo in Bismarck if you like that kind of thing.

Thanks for the info. The Zoo will be cool.
When you say "spaces are a little close", I hope you don't mean your awning touches your neighbor? I've read some reviews on some in Minot where it's just that.

Not every Canadian is into United States history, just like not everyone from the USA is into Canadian history.  I am not like that, but know others who are.

We stayed at Ft. Abraham Lincoln Park - can't remember if it's a state park or county. Anyway, it's in Mandan ND which is right next door
to Bismarck. It was very nice. I would not hesitate for a second to stay there again. We drove into Bismarck for lunch, so it's very close.

We fondly remember a docent led tour of Ft. Abraham Lincoln. The docent was dressed as a soldier from the 1870s and acted in period.

Well we're now in KOA as of Sunday noon. They were able to get us in through some cancellations and shifting around. Very accommodating folks. We stayed Friday night and Saturday night in Wallyworld. Not great but better than nothing. Lots of rain Fri/Sat now Sunday lots of wind. Went to the Zoo today and it was nice. Going to do the Riverboat on Monday. Lot's of things to do here, see, and shop.

Well our Riverboat got cancelled today due to STRONG winds and rain. Had enough of 4 days of wind and rain. Tuesday morning we head back home. Then it's supposed to be HOT here after Tuesday and on, go figure.......

Another (late) vote for Ft. Lincoln campground. We tented there several years ago. A bit warm, but otherwise just fine. I suspect we'd like it even better now in the Foretravel.
