Hi Everyone. Well, after 15 years the RV-Dreams Community Forum is coming to an end. Since it began in August 2005, we've had 58 Million page views, 124,000 posts, and we've spent about $15,000 to keep this valuable resource for RVers free and open. But since we are now off the road and have settled down for the next chapter of our lives, we are taking the Forum down effective June 30, 2021. It has been a tough decision, but it is now time.
We want to thank all of our members for their participation and input over the years, and we want to especially thank those that have acted as Moderators for us during our amazing journey living and traveling in our RV and growing the RV-Dreams Family. We will be forever proud to have been founders of this Forum and to have been supported by such a wonderful community. Thank you all!!
Good morning! our 2012 New Horizon 5er is in need of some new slide seals. Some bulb seals and some are wiper seals. As I look at them the bulb seals on the sides seem pretty straight forward to replace. The wiper seals are a different story as they are attached to the sidewall of the camper. And more diffic...
I know this is somewhat of a squishy subject but it's getting pretty close to the time purchase a motor home. I'm looking at a Jayco Seneca in the 2012 to 2015 range. My question is how much should I anticipate that the dealers will negotiate on their prices. The 2015s, which is the year I would really l...
We pulled up our roots and are heading South for the Winter. This year we left Washington state and are headed for Colorado Springs for our son's retirement from the Air Force. (For the record I am much to young to have a son retiring.) We will be seeing cooler weather than we like but will be racing for th...
We are in Clifton, AZ and are traveling to Mesa tomorrow. We will be on 70 to Globe then 60 to Mesa. Have seen some chatter about highway 60 that goes thru Globe to Show Low. What I'm reading says steep and a 13' 6" tunnel. It appears that the difficult section of 60 goes north out of Globe to Show Low ... w...
I've run across some information recently about certain models of Norcold and Dometic refrigerators having problems with fires. I know this is from the Internet so that's why I'm bringing it here, I trust the folks here not to be alarmist. That said, apparently there are 3 models that have been rec...
I've been traveling a year now with no issues, but in this camp, at least two dog owners have brought their animals to the large K9 park, announced their (boxer and a terrier) were "not really socialized" and then let them off leash to have a go at my Australian Shepherd. Now she is big enough to defend he...
Hello and thank you RV-Dreams for this perfect support forum! My family of 5 + dog are leaving our big home and beginning the wonderful life transition of full time RV'ers! We are shopping for a Class A right now in hopes to find the perfect one within the next 2 months. We are truly brand new to this life -...
I live in a stationary 5th wheel and the grey water is directly sent to the sewer. The black water, however, must be emptied at least once a month. Then I get the odor. I have been here one year and have never ran the grey water into the black water holding tank. (I can't do this) I just open the black water and...
Aloha everyone...I have a very peculiar situation to query you with: I live in Hawaii, and am preparing to purchase an RV to full-time in the continental US. My question is this, which state or states allow you to register your rig without having to be a resident! Mahalo for any and all information.

Hello, I'm a new member - just joined today for the very purpose of sorting out this problem (and hopefully others): I wish to add to the efficiency of a single 100-watt solar panel I added to my small trailer camper last summer. My wife and I like to camp wild without hookups - and we do so mostly in the earl...
Well heck, this morning as I sit having my coffee I'm surrounded by boxes and it's a funny feeling. I go get our U-Haul trailer at 8 and we will load all of our stuff in it and the new owners of our motorhome will come and drive it away tomorrow leaving us somewhat homeless. We will stay in a friends 5th whe...
Maybe a little silly to celebrate in the real world, but in RV land something to share. I'd like to pass along some of our experience, especially the re orienting of our new throne. About 24hrs ago I stepped on the foot pedal and something snapped off. The valve won't open, fortunately it was liquid wast...
I'd like to prepare a simple US map showing major destinations I intend to travel through in 2019. Basically, California to Tennessee, up to Nova Scotia, then down to Florida. I'd like to share this map on Facebook and Instagram. Have seen others do it - what to use?

I could use some suggestions on cooking in a convection oven. I have never used one before and when we bought our rig there was no manual for it. I have checked on line with no luck for our model. I tried some canned biscuits, preheated the oven wasn't sure if I had let it preheat long enough. Baked the biscu...
No.1 on mine was watch a shuttle launch (scratch). 2 was jump out of a perfectly good airplane wearing a parachute but too old (scratch). Still have the main ones - ride the Canadian Pacific from Montreal to Vancouver - Caribbean cruise - Grand Canyon - listen to a major orchestra perform live. Knocked...
After four years of being on the road we took the big step of adding a new puppy to our travels. The search and adoption of a dog can be a bit complicated while on the road, and here is my blog post walking through how we did it in case anyone is interested. https://camperchronicles.com/2018/11/05/try...
After fussing with the original RV mattress for years, we decided to buy a nice, new, expensive, and very heavy, top-of-the-line, king-sized mattress. Getting it into the rig was fun - challenging to say-the-least. Now, however, when we send out the (mega) bedroom, Schwintec slide, the top of th...
OK gals and guys I have a problem I need to solve before I move into my RV in while. I have way too many tools to take in the RV, way too many. I have tools from a 1" drive socket set to micro sized torx drive tools and everything in between. I know that I will need to carry a complete complement of sockets, ra...

Howard, like your old 5er, we have a roof mounted DirecTV automatic antenna. I am wondering how flexarmor handles the cables laying on the roof. Do they spray over them or are they removed and reinstalled afterwards? If encapsulated there could be a problem if service was ever need, if reinstalle...

I am trying to decide on the best method for inflating the inner tire of my new 2019 f350 dually. When I was researching for a flexible valve stem extender + brace I read of the potential for leaks with extenders. Has anyone come up with a viable solution to inflating the inner tire? Is using the dual head a...
My dad just got a 2016 model of Forest River Work and Play 28. He is currently busy trying to figure out how to make this RV looks like home before summer. I joined here to get some idea and at the same time learn from you guys.
