Hi Everyone. Well, after 15 years the RV-Dreams Community Forum is coming to an end. Since it began in August 2005, we've had 58 Million page views, 124,000 posts, and we've spent about $15,000 to keep this valuable resource for RVers free and open. But since we are now off the road and have settled down for the next chapter of our lives, we are taking the Forum down effective June 30, 2021. It has been a tough decision, but it is now time.
We want to thank all of our members for their participation and input over the years, and we want to especially thank those that have acted as Moderators for us during our amazing journey living and traveling in our RV and growing the RV-Dreams Family. We will be forever proud to have been founders of this Forum and to have been supported by such a wonderful community. Thank you all!!
If one has a fifth wheel, and if the fifth wheel hitch in the pickup has pins and "clips" to hold those pins in place, be sure to check those on occasion.I went out today to clean out a bunch of leaves. Our F450 stays parked under a tree and it had a bunch of old leaves in the front of the bed around our fifth whe...

This topic hasn't been discussed for a while and we're not supposed to bring back old threads so here goes. As many of you know I'm in the process of going full time in a little while. I've seen that there are theoretically size restrictions on every National Park of 35 ft. However, when I go to the NPS....
Has anyone replaced the door frames on an RV? We live in a 44 foot Heartland Cyclone fulltime. We are experiencing a lot of water seeping in at the bottom of the sliding glass door. Would appreciate any input Thank you
My RV has an Onan Microlite 4000 generator that has been well maintained. It now starts but stops running as soon as I release the Start button. My mechanic identifies the problem as electrical and mostly likely due to wires being chewed by a rat or mouse. To fix the problem he says he'll need to drop t...
Here's the scenario... you've topped off your batteries for the day and it's still relatively early... what do you do with the still pouring in solar power you're generating? Has anybody hooked up their solar to their water heater to take up some of that excess juice? What would be involved in setting...
Much like the composting toilet I asked about a couple of weeks ago on-demand water heater sound like they may be a good idea, but are they? I know that Nexus used to put them in some of their coaches but stopped a couple of years ago. My question is: What are the advantages and disadvantages between on-...
Standard tire pressures for my 2019 F350 dually are 75 front and 65 rear. I find that this also provides just the right amount of understeer for non-towing highway driving. For those of you with an F350 dually TV, what rear tire pressure do you recommend for towing? Max cold tire pressure is 80lbs for my...

My '14 Ram 2500 has 18" rims and I'd like to upgrade to a larger wheel. I saw a good deal on american force wheels. I'm curious if ride will be rougher with 20" wheels. Has anyone gone up a size? Did you make any adjustments on your truck?
For those of you with newer TVs who, like me, want to listen to audiobooks while on the road, I need help in figuring out an audiobook playback problem using my Ipod Classic with my new 2019 F350 Sync system. In the past I have always purchased audiobooks online using Itunes which then synchronizes with...
Good Morning All: I have read most, if not all, threads here and on other forums with the word "battery" in the subject lines and have not found a qualified answer to this question. And the sad thing is, I've not been able to find anyone at a dealer's shop that will give me a straight, qualified "yes" or "n...

Boondocking and dry camping topics appear from time to time in this forum. Sometimes folks w/o much experience boondocking talk about running their generators and just going out and parking in the boondocks. This video very nicely presents the 9 major items most boondockers would like for others...
We are going to be in Colorado in March and are thinking about heading to this show at the National Western Complex. Has anyone attended this in the past? We are wondering how it is, we live in the northern plains and were going to attend the Minneapolis show but won't be able to make that one (looks like...
To all RAM Truck drivers out there. I read this today on a business website: DETROIT - Fiat Chrysler is recalling over 660,000 heavy-duty trucks worldwide because a loose nut can cause a loss of steering control. The recall covers Ram 3500 pickups from 2013 through 2017, as well as 2500 pickups and 35...

We just ended our full time experience after 3.5 years on the road. What a great experience. When we began planning, we debated the store/purge decision. We purged a good bit and stored some in Alabama. We paid $200 per month ($8400 total) for one 10X20 uncontrolled and one 10X10 controlled storage u...
OK, 5.5 years of trying to get the right crispness to certain items, such as egg rolls, and I just figured out parchment paper really helps. I've used it with egg rolls and a few other items and our food now has the right amount of crisp. Just thought I'd share this since it only took me 5.5 years to figure th...
I've been doing some research/shopping and one of the things that has caught my eye are composting toilets. Specifically one that separates the liquid and solid waste. One of the main reasons I'm interested in them is lack of having to empty the black tank on a regular basis. In talking to a guy he sa...

Does anyone have a good idea of how much water pressure is lost through filters and a softener? Has anyone taken rough flow rates upstream and downstream of their installations? Much has been written about water filters and softeners in this, and most other forums. However, I've not read any info...
At the end of the camping season here in the northeast, the manual jack at the front of our 2003 Springdale tt broke. We are looking at the electric jacks in order to replace in the spring. Can anyone tell me how we determine if we need the 3000 lb., 3500 lb., or 5000 lb. electric jack? Your knowledge on this...
