Hi Everyone. Well, after 15 years the RV-Dreams Community Forum is coming to an end. Since it began in August 2005, we've had 58 Million page views, 124,000 posts, and we've spent about $15,000 to keep this valuable resource for RVers free and open. But since we are now off the road and have settled down for the next chapter of our lives, we are taking the Forum down effective June 30, 2021. It has been a tough decision, but it is now time.
We want to thank all of our members for their participation and input over the years, and we want to especially thank those that have acted as Moderators for us during our amazing journey living and traveling in our RV and growing the RV-Dreams Family. We will be forever proud to have been founders of this Forum and to have been supported by such a wonderful community. Thank you all!!
Is anybody going to the Hershey PA RV show this upcoming week? The DW and I are going on Thursday with our next door neighbors who are considering buying their first motorhome. This will be our first time in over 10 years we have attended. We're looking forward to seeing what is offered in the 2017's and seeing how much it has grown.
We are arriving Tuesday. Leaving tomorrow from Acadia NP and slowing working our way there. We are staying at Dutch Thousand Trail RV Park. Hope to Buy a new F/W.
We'll be driving up in the CRV since our stick and bricks is 1.5 hrs south. Our main purpose is just to look. We are going to get a renovation done out in Elkhart this fall and winter and being able to see the new interiors, fabrics etc. will be interesting. We already know what we want but looking will be fun. I hope you have good luck finding that new 5ver.
Remember to take only enough cash for food and drinks. Leave the checkbook at home as well as all credit cards. If you have Apple Pay on you phone disable it. Those shows are dangerous. I have been to only two shows.... and bought a motorhome each time. I don't go to these things anymore.

We will drive in from a campground in Aberdeen, MD on Wed. Blue OX is suppose to have tow bar service on site this year and we want them to do an inspection and maintenance on our tow bar. Of course, looking at upgrades and new coaches is always fun and dangerous.

You are right on about that. Were leaving the checkbook at home. The good Lord knows we don't need anymore stuff. We had sticker shock earlier this year back in April when we priced out a new Ventana. We made up our minds then to renovate our 2000 DSDP and have no payments.
Do you send in reviews to militaryparkreviews? I have been looking at the reviews about Aberdeen Proving Grounds for the past few months. I'm retired Navy and this past summer we stayed at Wright Pat, Buckley AFB and the USAFA. We had enjoyable stays at all three with the AFA being our favorite of the three. Aberdeen is about two hours away and I would like to go over for a few days sometime. If you review I would like to read your reviews.
Freddyb, I might have left some reviews. Just arrived today and are in the new section of the park. Nice level concrete pads, good space between, new shower/laundry, 50 amp with water and sewer. $35 night. They look to have a fully stocked MWR facility with boats and stuff. No cable, but we can get satellite and ATT service is ok.

Thanks for the update. I spent many weeks at Aberdeen in 2003-2004 when i worked for the Army Medical Command testing medical equipment for field use. Stayed in hotels then. I like the area. Did you call for a reservation or is it first come first serve?
We stay at Aberdeen Proving Ground whenever we're in the Baltimore area visiting our daughter and grandkids - most recently a two-month stent during July and August for the birth of #9. We prefer the "older" (I use quotes because it's fairly new, too) Marylander RV park on the Aberdeen side (rather than the water side) at $10 a night less ($25) than the new side. The sites are slightly larger in the Marylander, as well. The new side has a bath house and laundry facilities - but people staying in the Marylander can get a pass card and use them, too. Either way, it's a great place to stay when in the area... a gated community at an affordable price with nearby "membership shopping" (PX and commissary).

I love the way you describe a military base "gated community ... etc.". Don't forget the golf course, gym and tennis courts and clubs. You earned it, enjoy it!!

They take reservations.
We spent the day at the Hershey show. We were impressed with the new VanLee fifth wheels. This is a new company spun out of Tiffin motorhomes.
We took our tow bar in for the $30 tune-up service at the Blue OX booth. They inspected it and said it was worn out, not repairable! They gave me $150 off a new one. We escaped the show without trading up to a new coach, so I guess it could have been worse.

We spent 6- hours ourselves. We only spent $23 on a crappy lunch. It was fun looking at all the nice coaches but the price tags were a bit scary.I'm glad we decided to rennovate. I got the same offer for the Blue Ox but I didn't have it with me and I didn't want to drive back up there today or this weekend. My highlight was the informative talk I had with a PA state park ranger who told me all the wonderful state parks to visit here in PA.
