Hi Everyone. Well, after 15 years the RV-Dreams Community Forum is coming to an end. Since it began in August 2005, we've had 58 Million page views, 124,000 posts, and we've spent about $15,000 to keep this valuable resource for RVers free and open. But since we are now off the road and have settled down for the next chapter of our lives, we are taking the Forum down effective June 30, 2021. It has been a tough decision, but it is now time.

We want to thank all of our members for their participation and input over the years, and we want to especially thank those that have acted as Moderators for us during our amazing journey living and traveling in our RV and growing the RV-Dreams Family. We will be forever proud to have been founders of this Forum and to have been supported by such a wonderful community. Thank you all!!

Crossfire dually equalization system

Has anyone with a 1 ton (not MDT or HDT) installed the crossfire dually pressure equalization system?   Results?

On my 2010 King Ranch they didn't work. The plastic hubcap wouldn't hold the weight. They worked good on my motor home though.

I read a post on the Escapees forum where a guy bought a crossfire setup for a 3500 Chevy dually. Said at about 50 mph when he and his wife talked it sounded like chipmunks. Too out of balance, so he took them off. I can see how a bigger heavier wheel and tire (like on a MH or HDT) wouldn't be as upset as a lighter wheel and tire pair (like on a LDT). I really love the idea, but don't want to go the expense and hassle of installing only to find out that I can't get it balanced.

What Ron said. A more secure mounting system and opposing valve stems. I know the temp difference between inside and outside tires can be significant.

Mark ... by "significant", do you mean 10 degrees (or more)? I ask, because if I get the TPMS installed and set the high pressure alarms at 20 psi over cold pressure, as TST recommends, would this temperature difference be enough to set off the alarm?

Can anyone shed some light on how much temperature difference can be expected between the inner and outer tires on a dually?
