Hi Everyone. Well, after 15 years the RV-Dreams Community Forum is coming to an end. Since it began in August 2005, we've had 58 Million page views, 124,000 posts, and we've spent about $15,000 to keep this valuable resource for RVers free and open. But since we are now off the road and have settled down for the next chapter of our lives, we are taking the Forum down effective June 30, 2021. It has been a tough decision, but it is now time.
We want to thank all of our members for their participation and input over the years, and we want to especially thank those that have acted as Moderators for us during our amazing journey living and traveling in our RV and growing the RV-Dreams Family. We will be forever proud to have been founders of this Forum and to have been supported by such a wonderful community. Thank you all!!
I have solar power (panel, converter, inverter, and battery). Everything is working fine, but I would also like to be able to use shore power to charge the battery and run existing lights and fan sometime. Can I just use the same battery that I have hooked up to my solar to my travel trailer's existing co...
As we weigh various rigs in our search, one thing that pops up in some mfrs designs is raised bowl or vessel sinks in the bathrooms. To me they would seem to be a potential maintenance risk (yeah I know, what isn't in a rolling earthquake zone) It just seems to me that a surface mounted or undermounted sink...

Cancelling ad----Due to some medical issues we will be selling my dream tow vehicle a 2007 Chevrolet C4500 CrewCab Dually upfitted by Monroe. It only has 15,000 miles yes only 15,000 miles. I wanted to offer it here first to RV-Dreams forum readers. Due to the low miles I'm asking $38,000 for the tr...
When I bought my class A the Ice Maker did not work in the Norcold Fridge. I have a choice of buying a new ice maker which is easy to replace myself, or Buy a tabletop ice maker. From what I can see its about a wash on cost. Judging by how long it takes for my fridge to get cold, I am assuming it will take awhile t...
Ok, I know this must sound silly, but I am a professional quilter, longarmer and pattern designer. So in our present home the guest bedroom is my sewing/designing room and 1/2 of the garage is my long arm room. We are in the process of getting rid of excess stuff which will take some time before my husba...
My question is this;If you are workamping or volunteering in exchange for a site with hook-ups and and other perks, do you claim this on your taxes as income? What if it is a volunteer job and no money changes hands? PM me if you want to give me a non-public opinion. Seriously, I would like to know your t...
Has anybody ever heard of a truck bed cover that can be used with a fifth wheel hitch and fifth wheel attached? It sure would be nice to utilize the truck bed for (dry)storage when towing.
One of our Forum members is the manager of this park and they have an opening as follows.Azalea Acres RV Park, in Robertsdale, Alabama, is seeking a host couple to work for a 6-month period beginning April 17, 2017 through October 21, 2017. Hi, I have been researching 5th wheels and class A's and am leaning toward a 2014 motorhome. The motorhome seems easier to drive, pull over and sleep in, and their floor plans are right up my alley with features like great storage capabilities, pet friendliness, tan leatherette furniture, cushion...
We have an RV Apollo 1/2 time oven for sale. It works fine. Had it serviced and the company cracked the underneath light cover and right below the door hinge. So, they replaced it for a new one under our warranty. We live near San Antonio, Texas. I love this oven!! I bake cakes, cookies, and pies in it (whi...
My wife and I retire December 2019, after 30 years of law enforcement. We made the decision early last year to sell our home and join those of you fortunate enough to full-time. I have many questions, even after months of research. We have decided that a 40' diesel MH is the best option for us. We are very...
I have been reading alot about what type of RV would be best for our year of travels but there is little information on safety. When we looked at them in person my first thoughts were "this cant be safe to drive" They seem like they would be hard to stop and could turn over very easily. I have read about what...
We are getting ready to go full-time in several months - and we are very excited. We are in the process of researching satellite TV and we are interested in learning about the pros and cons of a roof-top mounted dish vs. a dish on a tri-pod. I would imagine that there are limitations with a roof top dish if...
Has anybody heard of an issue where the outside rubber slide seals get soft and gooey so that if you touch it the goop comes off on your finger and leaves a hole in the rubber? It's not road tar or anywhere no like that…it's almost like some sort of solvent got on it and turned it into almost a gum like substan...
Hello everyone! We are brand new to RVing and have decided to purchase a used 2016 Keystone Montana fifth wheel. We have not yet taken possession of our FW and I want to ask a question beforehand. In your experience how helpful is the RV company in going over the unit and explaining all of the systems? Nei...
Hello all. I am dreaming of living full time in an RV sometime this year. I have never lived in an RV before but I am a single parent and the thought of buying a home kind of freaks me out. I guess I am a gypsy at heart as living tiny and in small spaces with the potential to travel REALLY appeals to me. I look forw...

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=L2AFN5cDEzU is a 3 minute YouTube video from Linescrew1, a Canadian fulltimer. He titled it "How to Fulltime on ONLY $1000 a week" to get your attention with humor, but also to make a point. He just spent some time in Quartzsite and must have heard a lot of horror...
I have been corresponding with the Museum Director, Sherry Davis. This is her first attempt at hiring RV volunteers, and she still needs volunteers for Spring (April/May through July). She has a couple for August through October. The following is the position and contact information.Love histor...
I have heard that it is considered a "best practice" to turn the water water off at the source whenever you leave your rig. While I get why that would be "ultra safe" ... it quickly has become tedious. Do you do this? Just curious what other full timers do. When I mention it around where I currently am a...
Like I suppose so many of us wanting to go full time, I have about 500 questions needing answers and about 1500 things to do before starting the "The Grand Adventure". But it occurs to me that I should first post my plan in general and seek feed back from all of you in the know before getting specific. Quest...
Here we go..... My wife Traciann and I are now starting the process of getting ready for retirement in 6 1/2 years. I took some great ideas from some other full timers, which told me to start now. We went to Tampa, Fl this past month to the RV Show and WOW were we overwhelmed. We did by the end of the 3 day...
I'm shocked and disappointed that the chat room has disappeared. I've meet several good friends in chat over the virtual campfire who have never attended a rally. Some of these virtual friends have become 'real life' friends and I cherish their company. Our past two weeks in Quartzsite is a case in p...
The first thing we noticed with our Windsport 29M was that we have no need for the extra bed. We would like to replace it with a pair of recliners. There are THOUSANDS of double recliners out there and I was wondering if anyone out there has gone through this "upgrade"? The current sofa is in the slide an...
