Hi Everyone. Well, after 15 years the RV-Dreams Community Forum is coming to an end. Since it began in August 2005, we've had 58 Million page views, 124,000 posts, and we've spent about $15,000 to keep this valuable resource for RVers free and open. But since we are now off the road and have settled down for the next chapter of our lives, we are taking the Forum down effective June 30, 2021. It has been a tough decision, but it is now time.

We want to thank all of our members for their participation and input over the years, and we want to especially thank those that have acted as Moderators for us during our amazing journey living and traveling in our RV and growing the RV-Dreams Family. We will be forever proud to have been founders of this Forum and to have been supported by such a wonderful community. Thank you all!!

Hi from Larry & Lee Ann

My name is Lee Ann McCormick & my husband is Larry. We have lived in Las Vegas, Nv for the past 30 years & have just sold our home May 30th, 2006. We are age 56 & 65 (I am the young one!) Larry is a retired Insurance Broker & I am a retired poker dealer.

We purchased a 34ft 5th-wheel made by Newmar called a Cypress.  We are pulling it with a 2006 Ford F250 diesel.  We installed a 6500 Onan generator, an air compressor for the tires etc, a better electrical system with 4 - 6 volt batteries, an inverter, two solar panels, a 50 gallon water tank placed in the back of the pickup right behind the tool box that is easily removed. We also invested in a Motostat datastorm antenna on the roof.

We plan to live the full time lifestyle permanently, but time will tell.  We did put some special things in storage for a planned time period of 1 year in case we decide that we would like to have a home base.  We have been on the road since about June 15th & if we had to make a decision today we would go take it out of storage & sell it now! We are having a blast & can't see ourselves doing anything else!

We left Las Vegas on June 15th, went to Ely, Nv for 2 weeks (KOA) & to see my family & share our new home with them. We then went to Casper, Wy to see more family (Ft. Caspar Campground) for 10 days, and are currently in Custer, South Dakota.(Custer Mtn Campground). When we arrived we planned to stay 1 week, but we just keep extending it! It is sooo beautiful here in the Black Hills and the weather is awesome. 75 to 85 degrees, little to no humidity, no smog & beauty all around. Between Mt Rushmore, the Wildlife Loop, Needles Highway etc there is sooo much to do each & everyday. And the smooth, beautiful lakes here are awesome. I highly recommend South Dakota for a summer destination. We have decided to stay here for 2 months next year! A big commitment I know but this will be hard to beat.

We will be leaving for Yellowstone Monday morning, and then on to Montana, Washington, Oregon, Idaho & then back into Nv for the holidays with family. So, we may be the first to post for Wyoming on Monday!

It is very nice to meet all of you. It will be fun to watch this forum grow! Thank you so much Howard & Linda for giving us all an opportunity to get to know each other...may we all meet on the road at some time!!

RE: Hi from Larry & Lee Ann

Hi Lee and Larry,

I agree about the Black Hills.  We were just there, left there last Wednesday.  It was our first time in SD and we plan to return.  We saw Mt. Rushmore and CrazyHorse.  There is much to do/see and one can plan to be very busy.  That area is awesome!

Happy Travels, Karon

Larry and Lee Ann

When you get close to Coeur d 'Alene, Idaho (have to spell it correctly) or Spokane, WA, please give a shout to let me know you are in the area.  I will be more than happy to meet y'all and tell you about the area.

Thanks

Jenny

RE: Hi from Larry & Lee Ann

Hi Jenny,

Thanks so much for the offer & we will take you up on that! We are leaving Island Park, Idaho in the morning headed for Flathead Lake, Big Fork, Montana. Our schedule is a little iffy, but we will be coming through Couer d'Alene (had to check spelling on that one myself!) about the end of September. Will definitely e-mail you & give you a little better idea when we know. We really appreciate the offer.

If you did not notice our web site before, please feel free to follow along & then you will be able to tell when we are moving on! Just kidding, we full timers never know what might catch our fancy! Have a great night, and thanks again.

Lee Ann
