Hi Everyone. Well, after 15 years the RV-Dreams Community Forum is coming to an end. Since it began in August 2005, we've had 58 Million page views, 124,000 posts, and we've spent about $15,000 to keep this valuable resource for RVers free and open. But since we are now off the road and have settled down for the next chapter of our lives, we are taking the Forum down effective June 30, 2021. It has been a tough decision, but it is now time.


We want to thank all of our members for their participation and input over the years, and we want to especially thank those that have acted as Moderators for us during our amazing journey living and traveling in our RV and growing the RV-Dreams Family. We will be forever proud to have been founders of this Forum and to have been supported by such a wonderful community. Thank you all!!

Ok, so Friday Terri and I  went to Albuquerque to visit dealerhips.


We looked at Cedar Creek products and loved them, but doubt they can sell within our budget. We also looked at Grand Junctions, for the second time. We do like them and the floor plan, but we know they have only been made for two years (A THor product).


For the first time we looked at KZ's Montego Bay products and Heartland's Big Horn product. We know nothing about them but did find some floor plans we really loved.


If anyone has any info/experience/info/feedback we would love to hear from you.


WE are really in "crunch time" ,as we close on our house the 27th.

   I have been looking on the internet for about a year and discovered the Heartland RV's a while back.  They are really quite reasonable and they have an owners forum where you can read up on them here is the link...  http://www.heartlandowners.org/forum/index.php ... What I have found is most everyone likes them and those full timing have had good experiences. 


The Big Horn and Landmark are on the top of our short list for our rig.  We will look into them more at the Dallas RV show at the end of the Month.

Heartlands have not been around very long either.  The Landmark was their first RV and then the Big Horn.  They have continued to branch off from there.  I don't know much about them.  I do know the dealer in our area quit selling them after a year or so.

That news is no good.   I guess we need to look at RV consumer group and see how they are rated.  I hope its good because they are nice looking RV's...but then again looks aren't everything!!!

We have a Carriage Cameo which we purchased from Finnegan's RV in Beloit, WI. They also sell the Big Horn. On our last visit back home in Wisconsin, we came through Beloit to our dealer to have a front jack replaced (which we had damaged ourselves), and while idly chatting with the dealer about how much we are loving our rig, he told us a story about a customer he had who was having difficulty deciding between the Cameo and the Big Horn.

He opted for the Big Horn to save a few dollars, but on his first trip out to Florida, called the dealer to tell him when he got back he was trading the Big Horn in for the Cameo he had considered, even though it was now really going to cost him. Never got into specifics, but I thought it was interesting.

By the way, the events that shaped our decision making were in this order: (1) Visits to four RV dealers in a 100 mile radius of our home; (2) Four days at the RV show in Hershey, PA; (3) Visits to three RV factories in Indiana; (4) Visits to two Carriage dealers, (who also sold other brands) (5) Impressed with the integrity and customer care exhibited by our final choice, Finnegan's RV., and their excellent pricing (big discount!)

We are full timing in a KZ Escalade and we love it.  We were going to purchase the Montego, but opted for the escalade because of some of the upgrades that were standard.  I personally think the Montego is a great RV.  I did a lot of research on KZ before buying and found them to be a well liked company.  They back there product and have responded quickly to any questions that I have had by email. 


Don't go into buying any RV without the knowledge that there will usually be minor warranty work to be done.  I think a very key thing to consider before buying, also. Is to find a great dealer with a good service department, which ever brand you purchase.  We have a great dealer and have been extremely happy with the service we have received in the last 9 months.

We bought our 2004 Cedar Creek in Albuquerque and love it.  With that said you should know that they will deal down to somewhere between 25% and 30% below their asking price.  But you have to work at it.  Figure out exactly what you want and start working on them.  Most likely you will have to do that with anyone you work with.

We started the "process" of trying to make a deal today. G.M. From Enchanted Rv called me this morning, but didn't hear back from him today. We'll see tomorrow. Since our closing on the house is the 27th, we went ahead today and put a deposit on an RV space nearby for Oct. 1
