Hi Everyone. Well, after 15 years the RV-Dreams Community Forum is coming to an end. Since it began in August 2005, we've had 58 Million page views, 124,000 posts, and we've spent about $15,000 to keep this valuable resource for RVers free and open. But since we are now off the road and have settled down for the next chapter of our lives, we are taking the Forum down effective June 30, 2021. It has been a tough decision, but it is now time.

We want to thank all of our members for their participation and input over the years, and we want to especially thank those that have acted as Moderators for us during our amazing journey living and traveling in our RV and growing the RV-Dreams Family. We will be forever proud to have been founders of this Forum and to have been supported by such a wonderful community. Thank you all!!

How large an 5er is comfortable for full timing? One maybe two people. workamping sometimes means I will be in one spot for short periods of time.

I would say that you should visit several sizes of fivers and buy what you would feel confortable. Full time as we have for the past 3 yrs, I would want nothing smaller than a 36-37 ft rig. we also have 2 dogs one a 75 lb and a smaller one 14 lbs. They have to  have they're space also. I think Linda and Howard have a 40 ft. fiver.

Kinda depends,we had a 28 foot Sunnybrook that had enough living space due to it's design but fell far short in carry capacity. We now have our 38 foot Cedar Creek that satisfies both necessities.

We've been living in a 36 for almost 4 years now and are quite comfortable. I think I would have trouble in anything smaller than 34, but that is really a personal decision. You should carefully evaluate different size rigs and see what feels comfortable to you.

Good luck, it's an exciting process.

While I wouldn't want anything bigger then our 34 foot.  It's a personal thing go sit in them see if you can see yourself living in it.

We had a 30ft. Sandpiper that was fine for two.  It had two slides.  When we decided to go full time we bought a 36ft. Cedar Creek with three slides.  We thought it had a lot of room until we saw a 34ft. Cardinal.  It just blew our 36ft away.  So.........length, not so much,  but arangement.......the floorplan is everything.  Good luck

When we first started looking for a trailer we were thinking that a 28-30' would be enough. My wife wanted a washer and dryer however so that put us up to considering 34' and longer. We purchased a 35' which is very roomy and comfortable for the two of us but as Dave and Linda added, the floorplan can make a world of difference. It is after all a matter of personal choice, so consider your options, take your time, shop around and investigate thoroughly before you purchase.
