Hi Everyone. Well, after 15 years the RV-Dreams Community Forum is coming to an end. Since it began in August 2005, we've had 58 Million page views, 124,000 posts, and we've spent about $15,000 to keep this valuable resource for RVers free and open. But since we are now off the road and have settled down for the next chapter of our lives, we are taking the Forum down effective June 30, 2021. It has been a tough decision, but it is now time.


We want to thank all of our members for their participation and input over the years, and we want to especially thank those that have acted as Moderators for us during our amazing journey living and traveling in our RV and growing the RV-Dreams Family. We will be forever proud to have been founders of this Forum and to have been supported by such a wonderful community. Thank you all!!

Hi All! I bought a Class B in February and have driven it around a little so far. Currently have it with a dealer getting some service done, then I hope to hit the road full time. I plan to first travel up the west coast, then who knows...!

Welcome. Sounds like you will soon be living the dream. We have been doing it for two years and there is so much more to see and do. There are the occasional issues to work through, but those cannot compare to a new sunset view, different foods to sample, unique communities to visit, and fellow RV friends you meet along the way.

Sounds like a great trip and then you can do CA Hwy. 1 between Cambria and Monterey in about a year for another coastal adventure.

Check the CalTrans website for closures along Highway 1.  

There is so much to see.


Spend some time in the San Luis Obispo area. Wonderful vaudeville show in Oceano.  You can camp on the beach in Pismo beach.  The pier is fun to walk and watch the surfers.  In the morning, head for Old West Cinnamon Rolls in Pismo.  After breakfast, drive over to Avila Beach.  Great beach, downtown shops, golf course. Olde Port Inn in Avila for lunch.

I'm beginning to sound like a tourist book.

Dinner at Guisseppe's restaurant in downtown Pismo.

Breakfast at Village Cafe in Arroyo Grande.  If you wish for a little quiet, camp at Lopez Lake in Arroyo Grande.  Don't miss the Farmers Market in San Luis Obispo on Thursday evenings.  Visit the mission.  Tour the shops.  Best parking is next to the mission.

Spend the day in Morro Bay walking along the waterfront shops.  Sea otters in the harbor, the Rock.  Camp out in Montana de Oro State Park.  Excellent golfing at the Morro Bay Golf Course, and an executive 9=hole course in Los Osos.

All the way up the coast, some wonderful things to see and do.  Have to rest my typing hand.  Have fun!
