Hi Everyone. Well, after 15 years the RV-Dreams Community Forum is coming to an end. Since it began in August 2005, we've had 58 Million page views, 124,000 posts, and we've spent about $15,000 to keep this valuable resource for RVers free and open. But since we are now off the road and have settled down for the next chapter of our lives, we are taking the Forum down effective June 30, 2021. It has been a tough decision, but it is now time.

We want to thank all of our members for their participation and input over the years, and we want to especially thank those that have acted as Moderators for us during our amazing journey living and traveling in our RV and growing the RV-Dreams Family. We will be forever proud to have been founders of this Forum and to have been supported by such a wonderful community. Thank you all!!

What a great help this site is!!! Thanks... and HI!!!!

Hi all -
My fiance Chris and I have big dreams and have made a 5 year plan to be fulltime! My youngest daughter will be graduated and we'll be on our own ... I'm a nurse and plan to do travel nursing and Chris has lots of experience in lots of things. We've read lots about earning money while FT - don't think that will be a problem. We're starting to 'down-size' on things collected over the years, planning and making lists.
We've spent alot of time on this site (which is fantastic!!!) - lots of questions answered, found lots of questions we didn't even know we had! We've been looking at trailers, I think we've settled on 5th wheels - we'll see.
Anyway, just wanted to say HI and will be posting lots of questions later.

Thanks again for a wonderful resource and inspiration in this site!

Howdy Jessica and Chris, welcome to the forum. Great to have you both on-board. I think the traveling nurse thing is so cool. I've met a couple in our travels and it seems like a great way to see the country and still make a living. We all enjoy meeting new dreamers and sharing in their quest to join the RV movement :)

Hi Jessica!  I love this site too....in fact, when I came on it I was skeptical of the lifestyle....now I'm dreaming like crazy of us doing this one day!

My daughter and her husband are nurses and they are travel nursing now....with their two kids!    They work opposite shifts and live in their Fleetwood Motorhome.  They love it so much...they may never come back to build the home they had planned to build.    They home school (road school) the kids....working out wonderfully.

Enjoy this time of planning and investigation...there is so much to learn and I'm amazed at the community of fulltimers that are out there!

Melanie

Hi Jessica,
We're in the planning stage too - shooting for a year from now.
Are you enjoying getting rid of things? I'm loving it!
Welcome,
Lenore

Please allow me to also welcome you to the RV Dreams forum.  If you've been lurking much, you already know how many knowledgeable folks are here.

And, I daresay that as a traveling nurse, you may want to consider "hanging a shingle" outside your RV.  With the advancing age of "some" of us, we just might need to come looking for help.

Have fun with the planning, research, and eventually the RV live itself.

Terry

Welcome Jessica and Chris.

I too am in the planning stage. Our Son graduates High School this year then to college he goes and our Daughter graduates in 5 years then off to college. We have a little bit of a wait to make things happen but the wait is good. We can take time paring things down.

I started my research a while ago but when I came across this site, the learning curve was accelerated. I asked a few questions but just reading the posts every day or so will answer questions you didn't even realize you had. I keep a spreadsheet with the info I have learned so I don't forget it!

Good Luck with your planning! It's pretty fun!

Looking at:
F-350/Ram 3500 type truck, possibly an Airstream or a smaller 5th Wheel.

However, there is still time to change the configuration, just a plan.

Although we had been planning to full time before we found this site I have to say Howard and Linda and the great people here have made it much easier. We have had many questions and fears answered and now hope we can be of help to others.I might add we have been out full time since April 27th and it is everything imagined and then some.Welcome.
