Hi Everyone. Well, after 15 years the RV-Dreams Community Forum is coming to an end. Since it began in August 2005, we've had 58 Million page views, 124,000 posts, and we've spent about $15,000 to keep this valuable resource for RVers free and open. But since we are now off the road and have settled down for the next chapter of our lives, we are taking the Forum down effective June 30, 2021. It has been a tough decision, but it is now time.
We want to thank all of our members for their participation and input over the years, and we want to especially thank those that have acted as Moderators for us during our amazing journey living and traveling in our RV and growing the RV-Dreams Family. We will be forever proud to have been founders of this Forum and to have been supported by such a wonderful community. Thank you all!!
Has anyone out there work camped at this National Park? We are considering making an application here wanted to see if anyone had worked here and could give us a review. Thanks.
This may seem like a silly question but where do you go to get air in your tires? We have asked the tire stores and they say they aren't set up to handle big rigs. We don't want to invest in an air compressor so how do we add air? Is a truck stop the best option? We have just started full-timing and need to sta...
Hi! I am making a purchase THIS MONTH (so excited) of a used 5th wheel for full-timing. I have a very limited budget of under $5000 cash. I am seeing some decent used trailers in the classified, but wondering about the construction quality of some. I'd like to know how to find out what kind of framing and c...
I want to ask everyone to please pray for the people of Alabama. As some of you may remember that's where we lived - in Tuscaloosa until March 21st when the wheels started turning on our RV. We still have a house there but from all the reports believe it to be well below where the damage is located. Havin...
We are looking for comments on a route from Heiskell, Tn to Danville, Ky.We are considering taking I-75 North and then picking up US-150 around Mt.Vernon into Danville. Google-earth shows some parts of US-150 as primarily a two-lane road with no shoulder but I can’t determine much else about it.A...

I am considering installing an automatic patio awning to my 1992 American Eagle - Any advice and experiences would be appreciated. I am looking at the items that are completely enclosed (no lower strut supports). Would appreciate any info as to brands - cost to purchase - then to have installed etc et...
Starting research into what 5er to buy . . .although this is specifically a Keystone question it probably applies to most brands. Looking at the Montana 3455SA for example . . it's listed as 37'4" long and shipping weight of 12187. I'm assuming that shipping weight means dry weight . . .and obvio...
Hi Everyone, This is a great place to get ideas and advice. I saw a thread from last year about my subject but had more questions. I'm looking at purchasing a surge guard (at CW) for my 5th wheel. I was going to get a portable 50amp but now think I ought to have it hard wired inside. What are the advantag...
How important do you think it is to have both a surge protector and a voltage regulator (transformer) as opposed to just voltage protection (High & low cut offs)?I’m trying to decide if I want to buy Progressive’s EMS-HW30C with surge & voltage protection or get Surge Guard’s separate sur...
According to many online forums, Verizon is experiencing an nationwide 4G/LTE outage. This seems to be impacting many. According to Twitter Verizon reports: "We're aware of an issue with #4G #LTE connections & our network engineers are working to resolve quickly. Will update here.&...
I was on a website, can't remember which at the moment, looking at 2011 motorhomes. There was a footnote stating that the RV was a "wide body" and might be illegal in some states. I think 96 inches is legal but the RV was 112. Should I be concerned about this when shopping for my used moto...
Our initial coverage with Coach Net is ending, and I need some advice from those of you that have had more experience regarding emergency services, especially considering a truck and fifth wheel being towed. While we are in a situation that when we begin full-timing, that it will still be a "sta...

We have had a couple of bad leaks - live in WA and rain hasn't been this bad in years. At least we were able to fix them all before going full time. But, we now have some soft spots in our floors. I know we'll eventually have to replace the floor, but I was wondering if the floor might cave in where these soft...
Hello everybody and Happy Easter Weekend! I am Freesai and after lurking around your forum for a few days and seeing it was a nice helpful place I decided to join. I am extremely happy to find such an informative forum. I am in Georgia and I am considering buying a used RV and making a radical change in life...
If you are planning a trip from Texas across Oklahoma don't use hwy 75/69 that is the worst road I have ever had to travel. We decided to use this comming home from our vacation in Mt. Petit Jean state park in Arkansas. Most of the road is under construction and what is not it needs to be, every thing in the TT...
Hi. I'm trying to decide which discount club to join, as I am going to be traveling a bit. Coach Net doesn't have one affiliated, so I've been looking at Camp Club USA. Escapees have two parks, so that isn't quite enough coverage for my purposes. I know it's an old subject, but I just wanted some input as I'...

Hi, my name is Patrick and I am dreaming of horizons. I have always wanted to travel, but never had the finances. A few years ago I happened across a website that spoke of living in an RV, and suddenly I found myself consumed by a desire to do just that. I spend a good deal of time reading articles about dry ca...
Hello to all. I have been a member here for a few years. I became involved in another RV forum and have recently returned here. The last time I was here, I was still working as a Police Officer but in 2008, I decided to retire after 34 years of service. My wife and I have been full-timing in our Heartland Bigh...
So we are planning to FT in our motorhome. Problem is, I still need to work and it does not have any place I can set up an office inside. We have considered trading in our coach for something with an office but that would present other problems--mainly the sleeping arrangements because we bought a bunk mo...
Hello everyone..oh how happy I was to read some of the Questions and Answers some of you have asked or replied to. Im a 23 year old female who has dreamed of this kind of thing for as long as I can remember. I was told today by a DRV rep that DRV is the only RV sold today that honors factor warranty on 5th wheels used by fulltimers. Also stated that living in the fifth wheel full time will void manufacturer's warranty from all other manufacturers. Really?
