Hi Everyone. Well, after 15 years the RV-Dreams Community Forum is coming to an end. Since it began in August 2005, we've had 58 Million page views, 124,000 posts, and we've spent about $15,000 to keep this valuable resource for RVers free and open. But since we are now off the road and have settled down for the next chapter of our lives, we are taking the Forum down effective June 30, 2021. It has been a tough decision, but it is now time.

We want to thank all of our members for their participation and input over the years, and we want to especially thank those that have acted as Moderators for us during our amazing journey living and traveling in our RV and growing the RV-Dreams Family. We will be forever proud to have been founders of this Forum and to have been supported by such a wonderful community. Thank you all!!

3 in 1 wireless printer

We are still in the downsizing phase getting ready for full time RVn.
We are getting ready to scan our photo albums and need to replace our current printer, the scan function no longer works on our HP.
I know that all printers are basically built the same, just looking for some input on the different brands that you all use.

We have a Canon Pixma MP560 that we purchased almost a year ago. It's a printer/scanner/copier and is wireless. So far, so good. I've used the scanner a lot as I had all my photos to scan too.
It has the separate ink cartridges so if yellow is out, you just replace yellow instead of the whole cartridge. I like that a lot smile

I'm no expert on printers but this one has worked very well for us.

Have fun shopping smile

We have an HP officejet j6480. Works like a charm. The biggest problem, like all HP products, ink is way too expensive. We buy ink cartridges on E-Bay when ever we can to save money.

We jsut bought a HP OfficeJet 4500 All-in-One Wireless and love it. Had a little paper feed issue initially (packing material waste I think) but it's been fine since. The setup was a breeze, got it connected to our route and thus to both computers easily.

I tried the buying cartridges on ebay - what a great savings!  Thanks for the info!

We had a ton of photo's.  We used the lexmark 2100 and it worked fine but we had so many that we ultimately sent about 600 photos to scan cafe. http://www.scancafe.com

Got them all back on a DVD. We were very pleased with the service.

Another vote for the HP 4500 wireless. What's great about wireless is you can set up your own network (with or without a router) and print from anywhere in our outside of the RV with being tethered to it. We keep our printer in a top bunk in the hall and I can print to it from my laptop sitting outside.

We have a HP6500 in the front belly, (wireless)  it too has the seperate cartridges.  Went all winter with days in the single digits with no problems.  Total ink replacement of the 4  with a two pack of black XL cartridges and the 3-pack of single color XL at Costco is about $98.00 without coupons.  Just got $20.00 off the two the other day.

I also have a Canon flatscreen scanner.  This has a plate for negatives, if you have any, and has easier software to do what you need, I use it for scanning pages out of books.

Hope this helps.
