Hi Everyone. Well, after 15 years the RV-Dreams Community Forum is coming to an end. Since it began in August 2005, we've had 58 Million page views, 124,000 posts, and we've spent about $15,000 to keep this valuable resource for RVers free and open. But since we are now off the road and have settled down for the next chapter of our lives, we are taking the Forum down effective June 30, 2021. It has been a tough decision, but it is now time.
We want to thank all of our members for their participation and input over the years, and we want to especially thank those that have acted as Moderators for us during our amazing journey living and traveling in our RV and growing the RV-Dreams Family. We will be forever proud to have been founders of this Forum and to have been supported by such a wonderful community. Thank you all!!
I spilled about two tablespoons of liquid toilet sanitizer (contains formaldehyde) on the carpet in the wardrobe closet. I can't even go in the camper without my eyes watering, throat and lungs burning. It's parked in the driveway with the Fantastic Fan going 24/7. I've tried baking soda and cornst...
Hello. This thread is for suggestions for folks like myself with a ladder phobia and getting ontop the RV for routine maintenance, top of slide cleaning etc. My own ladder issues are: * The 3rd step on an unsupported free-standing ladder makes me nervous. 4th step is disconcerting. 5th step is knuckl...
Hi folks. Me and the Mrs. plan to retire in about 3 years. 3 Years is the most we hope to spend in our stick house before buying a new Solitude, selling most of everything and hitting the road FT on a North American continental tour (US, Canada, Alaska). I've been diligently researching this topic for a nu...
I have been watching a ton of videos of rv solar applications and notice many seem to use a sealant/caulk called Dicor. When I looked it up there seem to be at least a couple of kinds. Can someone recommend which one to use? TIA
I am looking for specs on used Keystone Montana and Arctic Fox fifth wheels. My wife and I are starting the research to purchase a good used 28' - 31' unit. We are seeing quite a few nice units scattered all over the country, but we are not seeing a lot of specs on most of these units. Does anyone know where we...
We purchased our first fifth wheel, a 2016 Bighorn 3570RS back in December. We live in South Dakota and we bought it from a dealer in Portland, OR and did not want to pull it home in the dead of winter so we worked out a deal with them to keep it on the lot for us. We were planning on going out next week to pick i...
I’m thinking on maybe doing the full time rv when we retire but my concern is what do you do with all of the important papers? Do you carry a strong box or do you get a safety deposit box? we have about 10 years till we retire i’m Just trying to get a feel for things. thanks
Have been full-timing 3 years now and love it. When buying your RV consider this: Does it have a dishwasher? Does it have a washer? We are slugs and have no desire to wash dishes. We solved the problem by buying a Cyclone fifth wheel and our Kenmore portable dishwasher fits in nicely. (hook...
Today is our fifth anniversary of travels. Our version of full-timing has turned into a lifestyle that we never imagined. We continue to change and expand of traveling lifestyle. We are looking forward to the next five years to see what changes will come to our adventure. My wife's license plate o...
Thank you for allowing us to join your forum. Since this is an introduction, here's a short about me: I will be 56 in January. I grew up camping almost every spring/summer/fall weekend as a kid until about 17 years old with my parents, 3 siblings in a couple popup campers in the mid 60s to late 70's. I have a...
In the interest of keeping threads on Topic lets use this one to discuss different breeds of dogs that we like and enjoy having with us while traveling.....additionally to Segway of the Dog Bite thread a good point was made about the owner needing to be smarter than the dog, unfortunately this is not al...
Sort of a poll question, for those that have a 5er and have a second vehicle that is driven when relocating as opposed to carried, what make/model? I've a seen few jeeps etc... any out there with more "pedestrian" vehicles like compact sedans or similar conventional modes of transport. We are conside...
My post on what you can't live without gave me lots of good ideas. So I thought I would flip the question around - What is the one thing you wish you had in your RV? Besides it's been too quiet around here for a couple of days.
Hi folks! I'm going to see this classic gem tomorrow and wonder what you all think? I've talked with the owner/contractor some and his restoration/updating has been a labor of love. He's transparent about further work I can do, including the costs and instructions. For the price and upgrades so f...
Hello All, Like the subject says DW and I are closing in on retirement and are strongly considering the full time RV lifestyle in either a 5'er or a Class A. One of the reasons for considering the fulltime lifestyle is because we don't know where we want to retire. We had a tent camper for years and real...
I’m looking for a place to stay around Ft Meyers on our way back from the Keys. Feb 1 2019 for a week to 3 weeks. I would prefer something like Gulfwaters or Creekside in Punta Gorda ( full service, not too treed, etc). Both those listed have nothing available. Ideas? Have been to Florida and the ft me...
I can't seem to make side to side adjustments on the two, front, main legs of my 6 leg Lippert Level-Up system. Anyone know how to do this at the leveling control panel?
We are long-time RVers (weekends and vacations for the last 20 years) who attended two RV Dreams rallies, and we are finally ready to full time. We started our RV life in a 25’ fifth wheel and then went to a 32’ Class C motorhome. Shortly before we retired this year, we sold the motorhome and purchased a...
We are going to winter in Phoenix area. Does anyone have any experience or recommendation for a very good orthopedic doctor/surgeon? It’s an ankle bone issue-probably bone spur or something. Thanks.
We have our 2008 36 RSSB3 for sale. It has the king bed, The refrigerator is a four door with freezer at the top. Has a microwave/convection over and three burner gas stove and oven. It has a new 48" TV over the fireplace. There are two ducted AC units, one also is a heat pump. Asking $35,000 or best reasonab...
Looking for suggestions for campgrounds/RV parks in the Branson area. We will be heading there in early October. We like to have a little room between campsites and we like to have trees in the park too. Full hookups would be nice but we are only going to stay about 6 nights so we could do with just wate...
We're just in the looking and planning stages of full-timing and we will be traveling with a toddler. Our plan is to have her sleep on the couch mattress. Most of the 5vers that we're looking at have an air mattress. I'm guessing this is because of the weight. Does anyone have any opinions on how dura...
My wife and I are going on the road - We decided to give it at least a year as Full time RVers. I'm 69 and I want to see if I can make. Open to any suggestions. We bought a new Jayco Flight SLX 8. We are going to pull it with a 2018 Toyota Tacoma V6.
