Hi Everyone. Well, after 15 years the RV-Dreams Community Forum is coming to an end. Since it began in August 2005, we've had 58 Million page views, 124,000 posts, and we've spent about $15,000 to keep this valuable resource for RVers free and open. But since we are now off the road and have settled down for the next chapter of our lives, we are taking the Forum down effective June 30, 2021. It has been a tough decision, but it is now time.
We want to thank all of our members for their participation and input over the years, and we want to especially thank those that have acted as Moderators for us during our amazing journey living and traveling in our RV and growing the RV-Dreams Family. We will be forever proud to have been founders of this Forum and to have been supported by such a wonderful community. Thank you all!!
Hello All, my name is Helen and I have been looking at fifth wheels on the internet for about six months. I use to be a travel nurse for eight years going around the country working on short-term contracts for 3 to 6 months in one place. I then found out I had cancer, came home to Texas and went through thr...
A bit of disappointing news! Went to my primary Dr. on Friday, noticed a small amount of wheezing in my lungs. I may have a touch of COPD; ordered a pulmonary bronchial exam. Was given Spiriva inhaler for daily and Albuterol puffer for if I get a quick loss of breath. I feel a bit more secure knowing if I...
So the holidays are right around the corner and very soon, family (some who know our plan, and some who don't) will be asking us what we want for Christmas. Since we've started our purging process and don't want to add anything more to the list, we would like to get some ideas of those "must have&q...
If there is one thing I have learned from my research is to take my time on a class A purchase. So I would like your expert advice on a rig I am looking at, I am a little suspicious this rig only has 900 miles and is 10 years old. I would appreciate any input. **UPDATE** Looks like the rig may have sold.* EDIT: h...
I'm looking at a 1998 Newell, double slide. I joined the Newell forum but they are all biased toward Newell. I want to use it for long weekends and a couple of two week trips a year until I retire in 3 years, then spend winters south in it. Any suggestions, thoughts?

As mentioned I have been lurking this site for almost a year so I figured I would join up instead of watching from the sidelines. Have never joined a forum so excuse the rookie mistakes until I get up to speed. I have picked up some great tips from reading other posts and we are looking forward to a new rv pur...
Any suggestions on how to better control the dust? I realize we're in the desert (AZ), it's dry, weather has been nice enough to leave our windows open most of the time and the end result is that dust continues to accumulate, no matter how many times I dust. We have an air purifier and that helps some, bu...
Hello all, my wife and I are putting our house on the market this week and actively seeking a unit to full time in. We will be stationary for the most part, parked on the air force base. I like this dealership so I've mostly been looking at their inventory but I have been browsing places like rvtrader,from...

Hello everyone! I am a new member here so please forgive me if I'm in the wrong place for this discussion. I hope this is it.:o) I'm researching RV's for "fulltiming it" and in the process I'm finding information overload... My question is; Is there a simple way to determine whether an RV is s...

I started to write this post yesterday and then deleted it, so please take it in the spirit it is intended. I like my job. Not crazy about the company and I hate the politics, but overall I really like what I do. As we are preparing to full-time, we are going back and forth between a model where I consult (...
Been trying to make a change on the Rv-dreams map. Cannot make the change can't even access the map through the e-mail link we had received when we first signed on. Has any thing changed. Thank you
Hi everyone! I'm stoked to join this forum. I have been very encouraged by all the information RV Dreams provides here without making themselves out to be the all knowing source of information. I really respect that. ABOUT US: We are VERY close to being debt free and fed up with working in corporate Ame...
I was going to wait until we actually had the truck in the driveway to post this, but I am so excited I can't wait!I had posted a little over a week ago that we were going to look at a truck and about how it wasn't exactly what we initially thought we wanted, asking you all your thoughts on the difference betwe...
Okay I have started going through things at the house. Amazing what 23 years of marriage and 20 years in the same house can accumulate. My question is 'What do I do with all the SPECIAL stuff?' I mean I see no need to take wedding albums and heirlooms on the road with us, but I am not willing to give up the h...

We're looking to retire (or semi-retire) in the next year or so and realty think Full-Time RV is for us. We plan to rent a "Class B" for our late-winter/spring vacation to make sure, but are really thinking about a 5th wheel for our long term plan. Since we plan on full-time, we want a good ba...
I took the plunge and bought a 34' TT. Since I moved back to Nashville last week my new boss sold me his TT, for 1500.00 I couldnt pass it up. Perfect condition with a super slide. Of course I am still working but going to be living out of the camper for the next couple of years until I can upgrade to a 5er. My...
I learned (unofficially, by snooping, but I will be informed formally in a few weeks) that my current full time job of 8 years is being cut back to part time. I will lose 50% of my hours and pay, and the boss will suggest I work from home instead of the office. Obstacle because whatever $$ I have saved up to f...
We bought our 2007 Phaeton 40QSH new and it has been very good to us. Very trouble free and reliable. We have spent many great weekends in it and lived in in twice while building 2 new homes and now have lived in it 16 months this stretch, the last 12 months traveling. We have done some great mod’s to make it...
We are renting a 5th wheel from our son's friend in Temple, TX. for the month of December. We have a campsite at Cedar Ridge campground on Lake Belton. It is a COE campground. This will be a test to see if we would like a 5er for our full time home or just stick with the plans for a MH.The 5er is a Dutchmen Gra...
I have the opportunity to buy a Coast to Coast Deluxe membership for $750.00 plus all the transfer fees. Transfer fees seem to be about 550.00. The yearly park fee is $99.00 and located in Georgia. So all told it would be about 350.00 a year. Is this a good deal? We do not even have the RV yet, but I was o...
