Hi Everyone. Well, after 15 years the RV-Dreams Community Forum is coming to an end. Since it began in August 2005, we've had 58 Million page views, 124,000 posts, and we've spent about $15,000 to keep this valuable resource for RVers free and open. But since we are now off the road and have settled down for the next chapter of our lives, we are taking the Forum down effective June 30, 2021. It has been a tough decision, but it is now time.
We want to thank all of our members for their participation and input over the years, and we want to especially thank those that have acted as Moderators for us during our amazing journey living and traveling in our RV and growing the RV-Dreams Family. We will be forever proud to have been founders of this Forum and to have been supported by such a wonderful community. Thank you all!!
We are thinking that the Black water tank has frozen since it wont drain but just a tiny bit. We even tried to fill it reverse style but it did not work. Im wondering can we pour something like Drano or even to go so far as like an anit freeze. Or do we need to just wait for them to thaw on their own? I also did pour...
We traded out Big Country in for our new Trilogy. Had a smaller mortgage on prior rig. Date of contract and pick up was 4/2. Prior to purchase we had read online that dealer took months to pay off trades. We asked finance person about it and it was "news to her" and should NOT be an issue. (I know,...
So we have another question. Next spring we hope to start building a house in the country, close to our children. Presently we have a 25' Airstream, but are hoping to purchase a 38' fifth wheel next year. Hubby will be acting as General contractor and is working with a builder on the plans. One quest...

We've noticed a lot of folks using those silver sunshades on their interior windows. Does anyone know if that helps keep the cold out? Do the windows stay dry, or does condensation build up? We're getting a lot of cold air coming off our bedroom window, right over our heads. It's supposed to be...
First of all; let me say I'm thankful for opening my eyes every morning and being able to stand on my feet! For the RV Dreams Forum friends who listen to my health problems and what ever else. Grateful for the finances for food; shelter; rent; and utilities to heat my RV in this early cold weather. Did I m...
Anyone got an idea how to get the grease off the inside of the Galley grey water tank, please ? Worked fine for 8 months. I am told grease is the cause, but not sure. Looking forward to your suggestions. Thank you.
I work as a telephone interpreter and my employer required a landline in a fixed location. Company policy now allows VOIP. Is any Dreamer using VOIP through internet satellite or a campground connection? I would appreciate any info since that may make a huge difference in my plans.
We are almost ready to go! We started this journey on June 13, 2013 & our goal is to leave Colorado by Halloween. We have been soooo busy, exchanging our current life for our new life! Thank you for all the valuable information in this forum, it really saved our sanity! We picked up our 5'er on Sept...
Hello Folks! Brand new to the site here and so far I like what I see :) Wifey and I are 55 and hoping to retire, on the open road, in 3 to 5 yrs. (fingers crossed, really tight) We presently live near Lake Placid NY, yes we are in the boonies for sure. We climb in the gorgeous Adirondack Mountains and we bo...
Because we live in a VERY small town and need to keep our jobs intact until all of our ducks are in a row, Lee and I have told very few people about our plans. Our kids were told first, then our parents (that was interesting), and finally a very few close friends that we could trust to keep it to ourselves. ...
When I put my Heater on,I lost power after 10 min. Lights went down low and lost power in my Battery and converter. Could this be a bad battery or converter. Before putting the heater on I had power. What do you thing went wrong. Will a bad connection or a bad ground connection cause this or is it somethin...
Hello fellow RVers ! I am new to the world of RVs and looking forward to camping and traveling! We just recently purchased a 1989 Ford Fiesta Class B motor home / extra high top camper van. It is nearly self contained except for a shower and generator (but has a place for a small one) , which I am hoping to ins...
Well, we think we've come up with a plan. Found a 3 lb Butterball turkey roast at the grocery store yesterday and found this yummy sounding recipe on the web that can be grilled leaving my convection oven / microwave free for all the other parts of the dinner. http://www.publix.com/holiday/turke...

Went down to look at our new RV yesterday to measure VERY exciting . Need to decided on the Splendide 2100 which vents versus the 7100 that does not. Anyone have experience with both? What's the difference between venting and not venting practically? The price is roughly the same when you add the la...
Well, maybe Sunday before "Black Friday" might be more appropriate.Jo has ordered my Christmas present. She is selling her Nikon D90 with two lenses and other stuff so she can buy me a Nikon "full frame" D700. It is a used one and has been purchased off of E-bay. It appears to b...
I am a permanent plugged in, in a 21ft Class C Glendale. My fridge is a nice size, but I cant keep much in it, as even at a low setting on the dial, most everything freezes. Even in the door, my 2L jugs of milk are just above freezing, which is good, as I dont drink a lot of milk, and they keep longer.. The down sid...
There was some previous discussion on the Equalizer Hitch so I wanted to share what we had to say about it without the other thread on other types being hijacked. We pulled a 24' travel trailer as novices using a Ford Club Wagon (fancy van) and an Equalizer. Our first tow was from NC to KS, first going so...
We are new to the camping world. We have a new Evergreen with nitro in the tires. One of tires is flat, we ran over a nail at our farm. Do we just fix it and air up with air, or what? Thanks in advance, PK in La.
We have purchased a new (to us) Volvo 780, so our current truck is for sale. This truck will easily pull any trailer on the market, is extraordinarliy comfortable, and is as easy to drive as a dually pickup (and approximately the same wheelbase). It maneuvers far better than any pickup because it has a s...
I'm wondering if others over the "dreaming", planning, waiting, found that the "dream" transformed, sort of like the kids transformer toys, turning it this way and that way until the pieces fell into place? Yesterday, I decided to just give up since trying to put the "d...
Been lurking for a while. My wife and I farm in SW ND. We are in the process of turning the day to day work over to my son. We are hoping to be down south for several months each winter. We have done some already, but hope to do more, and much longer periods. We have a Voltage 3600 toyhauler, and just got a '...
With the holiday shopping season upon us, I thought I would take a moment to do something that Howard and Linda (the force behind RV-Dreams) apparently won't - probably because they're too modest and unpretentious to do so. Namely, I want to encourage you to support RV-Dreams. Here's how. On the hom...
We bought our 2012 Redwood 36FL two years ago this month hoping to retiree in the next 3 years. We took weekend trips not far from home and near a WAl-Mart to set up our home on wheels. Six months later my husband was diagnosed with Leukemia. The RV stayed in storage the next 10 months while he was having tre...
HELP Starting to get a blog set up. Any suggestions? We would like to be able to monitize it later, (amazon, etc). I've found Wordpress, and Blogger. Any others?
I am not a patient person! Our house has been on the market for 2 months now, and we have had several showings no real offer!! Our other times to sell, they sold to the first person to look. The realtor says it is an "awesome" house, and we have lowered the asking price, so, yes, I am frustrat...
