Hi Everyone. Well, after 15 years the RV-Dreams Community Forum is coming to an end. Since it began in August 2005, we've had 58 Million page views, 124,000 posts, and we've spent about $15,000 to keep this valuable resource for RVers free and open. But since we are now off the road and have settled down for the next chapter of our lives, we are taking the Forum down effective June 30, 2021. It has been a tough decision, but it is now time.

We want to thank all of our members for their participation and input over the years, and we want to especially thank those that have acted as Moderators for us during our amazing journey living and traveling in our RV and growing the RV-Dreams Family. We will be forever proud to have been founders of this Forum and to have been supported by such a wonderful community. Thank you all!!

Redwood 5th Wheel

We made a deal yesterday on a Redwood 38FL.

We traded in our Jayco Pinnacle for a Front Living Redwood 5er.

There was nothing wrong with our Pinnacle, it has been a great 5th Wheel (we just completed a 10,000 mile problem free cross country trip), but the time and the deal was right for us so we made the move.

We pick it up this Wednesday and will stay at dealer for a few days to ensure everything works correctly.

Sure hope the Redwood will be as good of a RV as our Pinnacle has been.

I think at the Landmark, Pinnacle, Redwood price point, it is kind of a Ford, Chevy, Dodge thing, all are good units, just which one feels right

Will get some pics up after we move in to our new home this week smile

Thats awesome.. Redwood was our second choice to the DRV. We where very , very close to buying one.

I thought they where a very high quality compared to all the others.. And the money seems right on them too..

Landmark was our number 3.

I still think the Redwood is a better value than any 5th wheel.

I've known a couple of people who had a Redwood and they looked like very nice units. Really liked the front living room. Don't know anything bout the how they hold up but if I ever buy another one I'd take a good look at them.

Dave, I think the Redwood is a good product for its price point, I think the MS is probably has a little heaver construction making the Redwood a step down from the MS but the MS is also more $$ than the Redwood.

Redwood reconfigured the Front Living model when they went from the 36FL to the 38FL, on the 36FL the Recliners were in the ODS Slide and the TV / Entertainment center was in the DS Slide with a sofa in the front cap area.

The 38FL has Sofas in both front Slides and Recliners in the front cap area with the TV / Fireplace in the back of the kitchen pantry.

Front Living 5ers are a love / hate scenario, either people really like them or they really hate them, for us and our Fulltime lifestyle we think it works better for us.

Guess we will see how the Redwood holds up to Full Time living and traveling.

Rob,

We see quite a few Redwoods in the RV park next to us here in Oklahoma City.  We tend to walk the streets in the park for our exercise several times a week in the evening and are always checking out what all is in the park.  I think we see more Redwoods than Pinnacles and Landmarks.

Oh, and for those that are new to the forums, Rob's comments including the abbreviations of ODS and DS stand for Off-Door-Side and Door-Side with regards to location on the fifth wheel.

Congrats, saw a Redwood in a park where we were recently and they had a double slide in on their slides, not sure I can explain exactly what I mean, but there was a slide that was within another slide on one side. Have to say it made us curious, during one of my daily walks the owner was talking to another RV'er explaining how much they loved their 5'ver. Didn't stop to chat, but have to admit it made me curious.

Redwood / Crossroads does a Slide in a Slide using the Schwintek Slide System on several models, you are right it is interesting.

They do that as a option on some of the Redwood Rear Living models when the bedroom is up front, gives more room at the end of the bed without having opposing slides.

Our Front Living Redwood has the bedroom in the rear and does have opposing slides with the Wardrobe Slide opposite the Bed Slide so we do not have the Slide in a Slide.

Robert & Debra,

Congratulations on your new Redwood. We have been in our Redwood 36FB for 11/2 years fulltime and have had very few problems, all minor issues.

We hope you yave the same fortune as we have in your new home!!!
