Hi Everyone. Well, after 15 years the RV-Dreams Community Forum is coming to an end. Since it began in August 2005, we've had 58 Million page views, 124,000 posts, and we've spent about $15,000 to keep this valuable resource for RVers free and open. But since we are now off the road and have settled down for the next chapter of our lives, we are taking the Forum down effective June 30, 2021. It has been a tough decision, but it is now time.
We want to thank all of our members for their participation and input over the years, and we want to especially thank those that have acted as Moderators for us during our amazing journey living and traveling in our RV and growing the RV-Dreams Family. We will be forever proud to have been founders of this Forum and to have been supported by such a wonderful community. Thank you all!!
We are in the Crater Lake RV park now and are traveling tomorrow to Crescent City CA on 199. Seems that this is the only way to get there in a reasonable time and it seems to be a senic ride. However, there seems to be mixed reviews about taking a large RV (we have a 40 foot 5W) on this road. It's also not considered a truck route in the truckers atlas so I am just making sure with people who may have taken this route.
Sugestions, Hints, warnings?

We have taken it and don't remember it being that bad. Of course we are used to mountain roads that are sometimes narrow. Most of the Oregon and California highways between I-5 and US101 can be a challenge for those who are scared of curves, hills and narrow roads and bridges.

I consider it a GREAT motorcycle road. Most of it would be no problem with a large RV but there are area's that you will have to pay attention. I have seen many rv's and trucks on 199 over the years. I have never taken our MH over it however. But I would I guess.
Thanks guys! I took a You tube tour for this route. I think I'm good with it. Had a guy next to us in Crater lake saying we were nuts to take a big rig on this road. They are in a MH. If it's passable, I'll make it and maybe have a good story!
