Hi Everyone. Well, after 15 years the RV-Dreams Community Forum is coming to an end. Since it began in August 2005, we've had 58 Million page views, 124,000 posts, and we've spent about $15,000 to keep this valuable resource for RVers free and open. But since we are now off the road and have settled down for the next chapter of our lives, we are taking the Forum down effective June 30, 2021. It has been a tough decision, but it is now time.
We want to thank all of our members for their participation and input over the years, and we want to especially thank those that have acted as Moderators for us during our amazing journey living and traveling in our RV and growing the RV-Dreams Family. We will be forever proud to have been founders of this Forum and to have been supported by such a wonderful community. Thank you all!!
Hi! I have a question about RV Bathroom remodeling. We are planning to gut and redo our RV bathroom. The question I have is, has anyone ever put a full size house tub/shower combo in your RV? We plan to take part of our bedroom closet to expanded the bathroom, so it will fit. We also put in prior a tank less water heater. So, we now have plenty of hot water to fill a big tub Just curious if anyone else has done this. TIA!

not having had a tv for 8 years before we got our rig in June, we've been having fun channel surfing
Apparently HGTV (home/gardens TV) has a WHOLE bunch of shows (and another network too, outdoor network?)
about RV's including touring fancy (mostly class A's) of celebrities, bands, etc.
We saw a bunch of these that had customized bathrooms, even palace sized bathrooms.
Start watching... If I find the name of the network/show, I will update this.

My in-laws had Monaco install something close so my mother-in-law could take a bath. They had an Aquahot diesel ho****er/furnace, so no problem with hot water. It did take some engineering because of the weight and finding a way to get access to the plumbing. You do not want a situation where you have to remove it all to get to a leak.
The only LP tankless hot water heaters that seems to work right are the Precision Temp RV-500 and RV-550, $1125 from Amazon. Other brands will not maintain constant temperatures and people complain.

Bill, I'm not impressed with the usability compromises required of ANY RV instant hot water heater. Which is why I don't have one. People do say that the PT work fairly well, though, so I suppose if forced to use one that would be the one.
On the tub question, I think it has been answered. It is done "fairly commonly" in custom coaches. Including jetted tubs and steam showers. The point about the plumbing access is critical. If doing this in a 5er over the gooseneck section I would not do it. Or at least consider it carefully. In a MH I don't see it being much of an issue.
